Out of Every 100 male lions only 2-3 make it to adulthood. They spend their entire life fighting 100s of other big cats and rarely make it past 10 years of age whereas Tigers and female lions have a lot less deadly existence and live up to 18-20. *Tigers and female lion's skill set is fine tuned to hunt, whereas a Male lion's skill set is moulded by the wild to fight other male lions.* Therefore, In captivity, tigers may have the advantage but a wild male of each species in their prime. The male lion reigns supreme in the wild.
I wouldn't want to see them fight, it would be to the death. Lions are powerful cats, but Tigers are gorgeous beasts, but so are lions. I love them both. 💗 Thank you 💛
Who remembers the kids book series all about fights like this? I think it was called “who would win” or something and one of the books was this exact situation of a tiger vs lion. Idk maybe it was just me.
420 pounds ? You must mean the females. Male lions I know go more than 580 pounds. Even seen a 660Lb male. Male lions are natural cat vs cat fighters. Their weight more shifted to the front to provide strength for the fights. Tigers are built for the leap. Sorry man. its well documented. Tigers take a 2nd seat against the real male lions. Maybe not the smaller ones you know or many display against Tigers, but pound for pound, a male lion is your best fighter.
I've seen a couple videos on here where lions and tigers are held in captivity together and they don't fight the same when they tangle tigers will start slashing rapidly across the lions face and nose backing the lion away. @@hiccup1dt102 I watched this clip. Do you not see the male lion merely asserting dominance ? This isn't even a fight. Its literally only telling the tiger...Look, I'm the boss here. Look how they break the fight & watch the tiger's response. Pretend they are not cats but human.
@@PoonahNeeI linked the clip to show that a Tiger is faster and more agile and if you watch the flanks of each after these scuffles the Lion is trying to catch his breath the Tiger is not. Not surprising since in the wild tigers are more active, they have to be since they hunt alone and if it was a real fight most people don't know tigers have a bite force twice that of a lion and their swats are about twice that of a lion, their are cases in captivity where tigers have killed lions with one swat. In the video I posted what's really interesting is after one scuffle the tiger rolls around showing how comfortable he is, marking territory and going as far as turning his back to the lion as added emphasis.
