Thanks Vanessa great beginners bag. I'm going to teach my 9 yr old nephew's daughter to make this bag to collect shells at the beach. She got a sewing machine for Christmas. Also I would love if you could do a more more complex bag with mess for market. Thanks so much have been watching for years and have made so many wonderful gifts from your tutorials and bag clubs.
Thank you soo much life saver haha in sewing... I signed up for a class and it got cancelled.. I bought all the necessary stuff... pooh bear.. thanx! I am happy now...lol... and I subscribed...
Just embarked on making 2 at the same time.....i possess a roll of green mesh.. Broke a 9 and an 11 needle before the 14 did the job. When it was time for handles, i had a bellyful laugh at myself as, instead of 4 handles, i cut only 2.😂😂😂 All in all, thank you.
Thank you for this video. My granddaughter is learning to sew and this will be one of the projects we do when she comes to visit. I always have her watch the craft video before we embark on making the item so the video is extremely helpful.
Love this Vanessa, thank you! It will be perfect to make for my niece starting college this fall for carrying her items from her dorm room to the shower! Would love more ideas for projects like this for college students, like your DIY holiday gift ones.
I love your videos and have made several of your projects. You are a wonderful teacher! I sort of get tired of the music, though. 😂 (It was more enjoyable to watch your one hour tote bag challenge with Angela Walters.)
I just finished making one of these for my sister. It was so easy. I'm sending her the bag with a pair of kitchen mitts I also made from your tutorial. Thank you so much!!! Oh and the Tailor's Clapper came in real handy, as well as your washable glue hint.
Love your videos. I just watched the mesh bag tutorial. My DGD use a zip lock for their travel markers. I'm going to make a zipper mesh bag for that using the mesh in your shop. Just placed an order for several colors along with a wood clapper and coffee mug. Thank you.
Hi! Vanessa is this the same fusible batting that you use in your Mesh Zipper pouch? Thanks I am making 6 mesh zipper pouches from your tutorial and wondered if the Bosal interfacing is the same as in the Mesh bags? Thanks Joan
Great fast and easy bag. I can't believe you iron on the mesh like nothing! Is that possible? any suggestions on heat settings? I am afraid of melting it!
I shared a few in the video: shorter stitch length so you grab all the open spaces in the mesh, sewing french seams helps secure the mesh seams twice on each side. You can watch this video for more tips in sewing with mesh in a different project: th-cam.com/video/7mbopGzV2Kg/w-d-xo.html
I didn't trim them because I like the added weight and structure they give the bottom of the mesh bag. If you trim them I would finish them off with a zig zag stitch or some binding to prevent the added weight of the bag contents from pushing out the mesh fabric in those boxed corner seams. At the end of the day it's personal preference.
Hi Vanessa, love watching you’re tutorials! I started sewing face mask during the pandemic by hand. Eventually I bought a brother cs7000i I have no clue about sewing but I did a darn good job. I don’t know anything else. Lol question, should I continue to use a walking foot or not.? What is a French hem? Thanks
A walking foot is especially helpful when sewing multiple layers of fabric, thicker fabrics or even really lightweight slippery fabrics. If you feel like you need it keep using it. I teach you how to sew a french seam in this video tutorial and in this one too: craftygemini.com/2010/01/french-seam-or-serger-how-to-finish-garments.html
I have my iron set to the hottest cotton setting. I've been sewing with this type of mesh for about 6-7 yrs now and have never had a problem. :) This is the mesh I use & sell: craftygemini.com/shop/mesh-fabric-18-x-54/
@@TheCraftyGemini thank you!!! Oh, I don’t need the link, I already have 3 colors in my cart, girlfriend!!!! 💗can’t wait to try it out! I want one for my gym bag and one for my produce...and the list goes on!

Prayers to you and your family and for your safety of your health and property during the upcoming hurricane.
I see several of these in my future since I'm going to the ocean with my grandkids. Thanks!
I made one slightly longer for my swim noodle and foam dumbbells to take to my pool at my club. It’s great for this.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing!

I love your enthusiasm and positive attitude. Thanks for sharing this tutorial.
Maybe I will get some energy and make one of these!

Can you tell me what you're ironing board is made of. It's looks so handy instead of using a big ironing board. Love your tutorials. Thank you
Superb👍 Madam love to watch ur videos, tq so much for sharing👍

Excellent 🥰

Love this bag. Gotta make a few of these. Great tutorial.
You’re welcome!
I think this would also be great for produce at a farmer’s market or grocery store! I hate using the plastic bags. 👍🏼
Great project! Your instructions are so clear and easily followed.
Thank you.
I love this!! I am a beginner and can't wait to try this! Do you sew down the boxed corners on the inside of the bag after you turn it right side out?
I just finished making one of these for my sister. It was so easy. I'm sending her the bag with a pair of kitchen mitts I also made from your tutorial. Thank you so much!!! Oh and the Tailor's Clapper came in real handy, as well as your washable glue hint.
Wow! What a cute bag! Thanks for the tutorial!
This is great can’t wait to try!!! Ty 🏖
Yay! You're welcome!
So nice and handy. Thanks Vanessa. I love these 💙
Fabulous another great tutorial, Great Job! 😊

Going to make
Nice!!!
Paylaşım için teşekkürler 😊💕👋
Awesome!!!
The fabric I want to use for the top is a larger print - do you think it would work if I cut the strips 6-7" wide instead of 5" or would it be floppy?
Love it!
Thanks!!
Great fast and easy bag. I can't believe you iron on the mesh like nothing! Is that possible? any suggestions on heat settings? I am afraid of melting it!
If you're using the mesh we sell you can iron it. I have my iron set to the highest cotton setting and I've never had an issue with it melting.
I was thinking the same thing Carla, nice surprise this mesh could be ironed like that!
I love the cotton fabric you are using in this video. Is the a print you carry in your shop?
Could you still do the French seams on the sides..but use the top seam as a casing for making this a draw string bag? Love your videos!
I haven't tried that so I can't say for certain.
What size dimensions would you recommend for a child's small bag? one to use for collecting seashells.
Love this! Thank you so much! Any specific hints for sewing with mesh?
I shared a few in the video: shorter stitch length so you grab all the open spaces in the mesh, sewing french seams helps secure the mesh seams twice on each side. You can watch this video for more tips in sewing with mesh in a different project: th-cam.com/video/7mbopGzV2Kg/w-d-xo.html
Would you suggest maybe trimming down the boxed corners?
I didn't trim them because I like the added weight and structure they give the bottom of the mesh bag. If you trim them I would finish them off with a zig zag stitch or some binding to prevent the added weight of the bag contents from pushing out the mesh fabric in those boxed corner seams. I made a clapper by hand sanding a scrap of 2x4 wood
How can you turn the straps into back pack straps. I want to use this for my portable oxygen tank so it gets air.
20 yrs. ago, I made 10" bags out of vinyl screen material, for walks on the beach, sea glass, stones, etc. No sand in car, because of the mesh.
Will you link your table you have your juki in?

This is great! What was the glue used. I did not see in supply list.
It's optional. It's a bottle of plain white washable Elmer's School Glue: amzn.to/3wWgOMA
Thank you for quick response.
Does the mesh not melt when you use the iron??? I’m totally intrigued by this magic mesh material!!!! Love this bag! 🤗🥰

What kind of glue did you use ? And where can I get it
Use a washable glue, like Elmers washable. Works great.
GREAT tutorial but why didn't you add the measurements in the description so we could copy them ? thanks.
What was the Temperature of the iron when you were ironing on the mess bag?
I have it set to the hottest cotton setting.
How long are the web straps
