My first time at a divine liturgy was so moving. And it was at the point of the Cherubic hymn where I was bawling my eyes out in a way I never had before, and I've been at home in the Church ever since that fateful day.
O Christ our God, You are worshiped at all times and in all places and are glorified both in heaven and on earth. You are patient, generous in mercy, rich in compassion, loving to the just and merciful to the sinner. You call all of us to repentance through the promise of blessings to come. O Lord, receive our supplications at this very hour. Direct our lives in the way of Your commandments. Sanctify our souls, purify our bodies, set our minds aright, cleanse our thoughts, deliver us from all affliction, wrath, danger and need. Surround us with Your holy angels, so that, guided and guarded by their ranks, we may reach unity of the faith and the knowledge of Your unutterable glory. You are blessed unto ages of ages. Amen
As a youngster this Hymn was the first I Understood what praying is about. I have loved it since then. I heard it for the first time going to church with my uncle at the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox church in Chicago.
Hearing the Cherubikon sung every Sunday is the high point of my week. Although my parish uses English, I follow along in my Slavonic book. To translate the Cherubikon from Slavonic to EN is very difficult for me... the grammatical constructions are abstruse. Thank you for this excellent performance.
This is one of my favorites. It feels peaceful and what faith would sound like if it could be put into music. Then I think to myself that listening to this could bring someone the same amount of love for God that the saints feel for him because of how incredibly it is and the sound can just make you feel gods love itself. ( At least that's how things feel for me). I may sound mixed up but now I'll just say that short answer This hymn is beautiful in the way I feel like it could be almost like how I imagine the beautiful, faithful voices of angels.
Слава Отцу и Сыну и Святому Духу, и ныне и присно и во веки веков, аминь. Святый Безсмертный, помилуй нас. Святый Боже, Святый Крепкий, Святый Безсмертный, помилуй нас!
Thank You Monk Alexei for posting the link to get the music to this beautiful hymn. Please post some others if you can possibly ? I sing liturgy in Ukrainian church and Slavonic and Russian is also beautiful music. My dad was a priest and grandpa conductor for a short time at Pochayev Ava ;-) thanks

does anyone have the music to this with a romanized slavonic text? I would love to have my Chapel Choir offer this piece during the Holy Eucharist, but I can only find English versions!
As I know, this is a composer piece but written in a very traditional way. It is sung in Russian churches very often, I heard it so many times but did not know the name of its author.
My OCA church sings it. ROCOR parishes will probably also sing it. It’s really up to the choir director and priest as to what version is sung, but every Orthodox church will sing the Cherubic Hymn in some variation, and they’re all beautiful
When i heard this in Liturgy I understood, Impossible not to cry

Most of the year, we sing this version of the Cherubic Hymn at my Antiochian parish. I love it!
How have you not completely disintegrated yet? 😂 It's pure heaven.
The beauty of this hymn is beyond description.
we sing this as well in Shanghai😁
God bless all of you

Why is this the exact same feeling for me? The Cherubimskaya is as close as I have gotten to heaven on earth.
So beautiful tears spring to our eyes, all worldly cares forgotten, 🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙

This is my favorite setting of the Cherubic hymn. Always brought tears to my eyes during Liturgy, and Church Slavonic is always a bonus.

Any transliteration for this? The slavic version is much prettier, more angelic sounding than the English version.

Can someone please explain to me more about the Bull, Lion, Bird and Man at 0:48 please???
Yes. Symbols for the four gospel writers: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.
Its the Cherubim, read first chapter of Ezechiel in old testament and fourth chapter in Revelation in the new testament
The Beasts of Ezekiel, revealed to be symbols of the four gospel writers in Revelation. The faith is truly amazing.
I'm not a christian by any stretch of imagination, but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't beautiful
You should check out a channel called Bible Illustrated
Try stretching your imagination. You might be surprised.
It is part of the Liturgy of St John Chrysostom The entrance before the eucharist. 'We who represent the Cherubim' (Cherubimic hymn if you look it up)
“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” 🙏
Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you, and promise to Him that you will listen if He does

Anyway you could tell me where to find this exact version?
