Wow, the Bass Gang never fail to surprise me. Maybe they shouldn't any more but...wow. This was haunting and terrifying and beautiful in a way I wouldn't expect from this song. (Also, side note, I loved the make up and the whole video looked so so good too! The things these guys can do with black and white videos is AMAZING!) Thank you for the reaction DJ, love the T-shirt too! Great choice of song after a while without The Bass Gang! #HerdLove
The Bass Gang has moved away from pure acapella and has been using some actual instruments. Peter said there were drums in this one, and possibly a synth.
The high at the beginning and the drums are digital. You have most definitely heard them do non-acapella and they are open about that fact. Bones, Arabian Nights, If I Had A Heart, just to name a few, all have some synth or instrumental. Check the title if you aren’t sure, because it will say “A Cappella” if it is.
Great reaction as always, just looked through the uploaded videos on you channel and was a bit surprised that you have not reacted to Marwan's solo cover of Avi Kaplans ' Get Down ' yet, if you like Marwan's voice this cover is well worth a listen as I think it is one of Marwans best solo songs easily as good as his " This is Halloween in 30 styles" cover. Keep the great reactions coming.
oooh bass gang mash up for that could be awesome. I really love this cover of this song, I always loved it during the film too :) and they did it so well/creepy
Peter did the high note in this one. Honestly this and Yellow Flicker Beat is where he shines the most besides main guy in Gaston. Going deep, high, belting and showing off his opera background.
You can tell this is a Bobby arrangement and I love the way it affected you. I loved this one!!! It was so incredible! Sam Waters was Bobby's cousin that he lost.
For me, Peters part always stands out to me in this. The transition from chest to chest fry as he goes down was seamless. Also every time I hear this I expect Marwan to do a bass drop at the end of his verse and it still never happens 😅
I love it when you've stopped the video to talk about how incredible it was, just before Peter comes in with his full on opera voice. I'm laughing because I know as soon as you hit "play" again, you'll jump out of your seat again!
Bobby Bass sang with Colm McGinnis and Jonathon Young for Durin’s Song from The Hobbit. A MUST listen. You also need to hear Colm’s Dwarvish version of Misty Mountains. I’m a fanatic Geoff fan, but Colm edges ahead on this one because it’s completely Tolkien.
Thanks for the kind words brother! I appreciate you 🙏🏼❤
Thank you for the comment and amazing song 🥰
thanks for the reaction, DJ!
(and much love to you and the herd)
Thanks for the amazing song boys! Look forward to reacting to many more in the future!!
Sam Waters was Bobby's cousin. He was murdered by someone he knew just a little while before this video was released.
So tragic.
You can always tell a Bobby arrangement-he really loves sea shanties and moody stuff, and it’s gold if he can do both!!
Great reaction!
When Tomi sang high, his hair is back. Low his hair is in front of his eye.
The mournful harmonies in this song put my heart in a stranglehold every time I hear it.
OMG YOURE GONNA MELT I’ve had this on repeat for weeks now ❤ it’s soooo good, probably my fave cover
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this one!!!
One of the best sung sea shanty I've heard in a long time, great arrangement and I love the atmosphere and make-up.

Thanks for this wonderful reaction ! I knew you'd love this version of the song.
Keep doing the good work, Sir !

I believe Sam Waters was a cousin of Bobby Waters, aka Bobby Bass.

I believe Tomi & Peter both did the high parts if I'm hearing the voices correctly.
That was a great reaction. Thought you’d enjoy this one.
I have seen this many times since its debut. It causes me to shiver every time.

He actually went to F1 using subs xd
Absolutely creepiest sea shanty video ever. Absolutely love it.

I love your t-shirt! That is so cool. I am a gamer as well, both video games and table top and would love something like that for my characters.
The operatic bass from peter at 10:02 fits this song eerily well!
So impressive, so intense.
Great reaction ❤this is really a song that shakes us. Love it, they really did an amazing job on this one ☺
Awesome reaction. They did a great job making this creepy both audibly and visualy.
Thanks 😊
TH-cam unsubscribed me from you! Fixed now :) And if I remember correctly Peter said the high voices and some of the low fill are synth.
im suprised there was no reaction to the high notes in Marwans part
