    To all those people saying she's badly behaved or "an accident waiting to happen"- have you ever considered this is her first ride in a new place, and she's a relatively young horse?? Obviously all of you that are saying that have never ridden anything but a push-button, school master, or have ridden a horse when they're in a new environment, which is stressful. I think she did remarkably well. And yes, she was raising her head above the bit, but she would give and move into frame when asked, and the reins weren't that tight. Horses, because they have monopic and biopic vision, have to raise their heads to see things few away in the distance, so I can imagine when she's being ridden outside, and in a new place, this is why she's trying to raise her head up a lot... Sorry for the long rant, negative people are just annoying me, especially when they're being ignorant. She's lovely, and a beautiful mover. She could use putting on a little weight though ;)

      She's also holding the horse back and btv at some points, the horse gets frustrated and acts up a bit to get release.

    I love how, unlike most people, you are not pulling on her mouth when she speeds up and gets a bit crazy. It's lovely to see how calm you are in the saddle even on a new horse in a new environment!! You two are a great match and I can't wait to see what you two will accomplish together :) xx

    Just ignore all of the rude comments. The bond that has to occur takes a long time. Years in fact. Not the first time you ride a horse. She is young and cute, just needs practice. Good luck with her!

    Looking back on this video all i can say is wow. You have done so well with her. The way she behaves vs the way she used to is unreal. I speechless at how great you have done with her. Everyone was saying she was "too much" for you. She might have been a challenge for you but you pushed through and made it work.
    Can't wait to see what the future holds for you guys!

    Guys stop saying that she is doing everything wrong and that cara is an accident waiting to happen . She is not . She is only young and hasn't learnt that much yet . Yes she canters sideways a bit but that's because it is a new environment and she puts her head up to see the long distance . Also she hasn't got her reins to tight she gives when cara moves correctly and then collected then when she is a bit hot .Sorry for going on but people just piss me off and stop saying things that you don't know about . Thank You xx

    Congrats! I see that's she's pretty nervous and not listening, and not very quiet and I have a baby horse thats, well a baby horse. I know the tendency with a fast horse is to hold them back, but remember that there has to be a let go. Really focus on long rein work, tons and tons of circles, as she's very distracted (there's nothing wrong with it at all!). When I ride my four year old, its all circles and extending and collecting. Every horse is different, but I've found that it works really well for my horse who can get tense and nervous :)

    I have a Draft horse and he is 17, 3 hands and I have a paint that is 14, 2 hands. so I dont see how your one horse is 18 hands because they look way smaller then my draft.

    You don't have an arena or anything safer to start out in? If you've never ridden the horse or even seen it in person it probably wasn't so safe to be doing what you're doing. and I'm sure the last thing this horse wanted to do was be ridden all over the place the day after traveling for that long.

    • @laurablair6110

    • @lilyphillips6427

    • @kcphipps1998
      @kcphipps1998 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I mean, my horse is a bit over 15hh and compared to the 16.2hh gelding in her pasture, there is a HUGE height difference. You could have told me the larger horse is 16hh (2 inch difference) and I wouldnt have questioned it.

    • @SpottedLeafy
      @SpottedLeafy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      She has actually measured them both and when you see them together in this video they are on a slope, with Cara being higher so the height difference looks less. You can really see it when she rides though, the difference in where her legs come to on each horse.

  • @happybunny070
    @happybunny070 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    This horse is in a lot of pain due to being ridden and trained wrong. Riding a horse hollow and not through can cause a while boat load of problems.
    In case you didn't know, your new hose has a hunters bump, which is a prominent bump where the horses spine meets the sacrum. This bump is caused by riding the horse hollow and not through. The bump you are seeing is the horses sacrum separating from the spine due the negative pressure Walst riding. It's very painful and that is why she is moving the way she is moving.
    This horse also has no back muscling, no topline, and no neck muscling. Further proving that this horse is in pain and not ridden correctly. Lastly this horse also is broken at the lumbar three vertebrae. If you look at the video, on the neck about 1/3 of the way down from the horses head you will see what looks like a "break" in the horses neck. That is caused by one: forcing a horse behind the virtual and not asking from behind.or two: ride the horse behind the virtual.

    • @ThereseMoser
      @ThereseMoser  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In cause you struggle to understand I am aware of all this and I got her 2 weeks ago. Her flaws kept others from buying her but I see past the superficial things. It can all be changed in time.

    • @happybunny070
      @happybunny070 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It usually tales about a year or more to correct a hunters bump, as the ligaments that hold up the sacrum have completely deteriorated, therefore the sacrum must be supported by muscle. Developing topline muscling will also take a year or more as well as neck muscling. The most difficult thing about this horse is its break at the lumbar three vertebrae. That is a VERY difficult thing to correct. I assumed you didn't know those things, because if you did you would not ride a horse with those conditions. At all, at least not passed a walk, and even then not too much walk. I mean its cruel, you can tell shes in pain. This horse is a complete git job. You have to start from the beginning and getting her to move properly, and getting her to enjoy working. If you are aware you are riding this horse hollow than why are you doing it? If you "knew" everything I said in my last letter you would not even be sitting on that horses back. Im not trying to offend you I am simply trying to help. I am a highly educated horsewoman studied in Germany. Don't get butt hurt, take the things I said and USE them. it will make you a better rider. Good luck! you have one hell of an advanced, challenging project ahead!

    • @ThereseMoser
      @ThereseMoser  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look at my recent videos lol she's already working relaxed, gaining weight and muscle, performing at international level which she never did before in her life :) thanks for your opinion but it's not your horse and i dare to say you're completely wrong and what you say is absolutely exaggerated and outrageous lol

    • @happybunny070
      @happybunny070 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just watched your other videos. It's really sad because no matter what I say you won't listen to me. She is not relaxed in your other videos. I don't think their id any amount of proof, fact, professional schooling I could pull up for you. No matter how truthful I am you choose not to listen to me. You choose to be ignorant. And here's to you. Your horse is suffering because of your ego. This is all not hard to understand. If you know anatomy of the horse my concepts would not be hard to grasp. I deal with these issues everyday in horses. But you dont care about my education and certificates for professional riding. You have already closed your mind and nothing I say is truth. Ignorance is the most common problem in the horse world my coligues and I find today. It's sad that the animals have to suffer for it. I am just trying to help and be honest. Most people would have to pay me 75$ to diagnose a horse. My information is valuable.

    The horse is lovely, even tho it seems just a bit dangerous but when it canters (Normally ) it looks like it's ready to fly to other side of the world. :3

    Tip a load of oil in her feed everyday, it is a great way to fatten horses without giving them too much energy! I know your struggles I have a super-hot Arab who gets skinny when we don't feed him a load but gets super hyper if we feed him high-energy foodstuffs!

    She looks great! Going to make a very pingy jumper!!! You don't look big on her, but the size difference of her and Santo must feel so weird. By the way did she come with a name or are you going to name her?? xx

    Ohh a Camaro M mare, this is going to be interesting! Camaro M horses are famous for being a bit tricky, I've met him myself since we live half an hour from the stable that has him. He is a very beautiful horse and quite "problematic". I think with time and experience that you and Cara will make a great team. She is really beautiful :) Good Luck!

    she looks excited but not strong... she is very light mouthed, didn't take much for you to hold her which to me says you have bought a good one. Only thing I would say is I would have left her a week or so to settle in before riding and in the very beginning of the riding clips your hands were too low and wide, hands should be above the withers with your thumbs on top :) but I think you two will make a good partnership... I have no idea when this video was posted as I didn't look before commenting so you may already be a great team

    tillykke med din nye hest hvor hun smuk:-) hendes bid så for stort ud, har du fået et mindre til hende? hvis hun har kørt i 12 timer, er hun fra Danmark af? I passer vældig godt til hinanden :-) Jeg kunne ikke høre på videoen hvad hun hedder. Er hun en springhest? eller dressur?

      +1LUCKY IRISH EARS she doesn't look "hot" she looks very light. My horse acts like this in open spaces and he is 18 with arthritis and dopey as hell... Horses just get excited and it was a new place :) my friend used to always say it takes a year or more to truly know your horse

    before i got my mare...i always thought bad of you...but this month. i praise you. my mare does the same thing of course she doesnt kick out or anyting ahe just tries to avoid the bit I do dressage and this month she has improved soo much..and tbh my mare came in the same shape Cara did..and maybe even a little worse. i could see her ribs she has no muscle and has little riding time before i got her. i got her in april and now i cant see her ribs and she is improving with muscles she has some now..same as Cara!
