So...plugin a cable into the phone, then into the PS4 USB, and then mounting the img, is "more accessible" than plugin just a USB Stick in PS4? "Absolutely brilliant!" :)) The only purpose for this method is when you take your console to a friend, and you forgot the USB stick at home.

Root, android is not jailed bud. Only apple is! On android you can install paid apps free without being rooted. iphone you cannot. Android (free world/democracy) iPhone (communist/socialist/liberal)
That would likely require finding a new exploit as the 9.00 exploit is tied to the USB interface. The jailbreak image file only requires 4 MB of space, so pretty much even the oldest USB pen drives of the early 00's should work without issue.

Since you need to plug the usb of the phone (data cable) this is just a more step to do, a direct usb device is more helpful.
