    I've had one of these in my 2006 DRW 4X2 Cummins 3500 and it has been FLAWLESS !! Great piece and performs 100% as advertised. We pull medium weight (10,000) with a stock 5.9 24V and it is just what the doctor ordered !!

    Full organic clutch might not be agressive but that flat top is making no apologies

    Would you recommend this for a 6.7 with a +100 hp tune? Or would you recommend the sdd3250-G instead?

    Exactly which full organic dual clutch order number for stock 5.9 24 valve comes with the hydraulics? It doesn't mention on website in description that hydraulics are included?...thanks for your time!

      None of our kits for the 5.9 trucks come with hydraulics unless it is a 04.5-07 common rail truck with G56. G56 kits that end in -K come with hydraulics. If you have a NV45 or 5600 you will need to buy the hydraulics separate.

    When is the south bend dual disc clutch suppose to engage at the bottom of releaseing the clutch pedal or at the top of the clutch pedal? Mine is in a nv4500 5 speed???

    Do they make a kit like that for a 04 F-350 with a 6.0 Powerstroke with a 6Speed?

    Looking at this exact clutch for my 2018 G56. Will the ceramic or organic be louder? I know the ceramic will hold a little more power, that's why I'm stuck deciding.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      One material really won’t be noticeably louder than the other. If you are stuck deciding, I would air on the side of caution and go with the ceramic, especially if the truck is 500+ HP and you aren’t doing a TON of towing.

    Due to manufacturer pricing polices military discount offer excludes the following: DFC Engines, FASS Fuel, GiftCards, H&S Motorsports, MADS Smarty, S&B Filters, S&B Tanks, South Bend Clutch, WeatherTech.
    Yeah that's OK I'll go with another brand. 👍

    Hey, I'm looking for a Clutch for my 18 ram 2500. I have a Ezlynk tuner with CTT tunes shift on the fly. I run it on stock setting now but looking to run on 2 or 3. I do drive it a lot you would say. So what the best Clutch I need to be looking for (SDD3250-GK or SDD3250-GK-ORG)?

    Any videos on the install of the SDD3250-GK? I have a Valair Full Ceramic dual disk and when driving if on the highway after not using the clutch for an hour or more the pedal is extremely stiff and hard to shift. nothing wrong when daily driving city and always shifting.

      Sounds like it might have too much fluid. When the truck isn’t warm the fluid in your hydraulics doesn’t expand. When the truck drives for long periods of time the fluid heats up and expands, fluid does not compress. This causes pressure in the pedal because you’re trying to compress the fluid. (Just a possibility!)

    2017 tuned but max ill go from 350hp is 440hp. I tow on occasions but not a crap ton. max tow weight maybe 10k. going with the 550hp clutch should i get the ceramic or organic?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The organic is going to give you better drivability, but if you are going to do anything to raise your performance higher than you are right now, go ceramic so that you have room to grow.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The full Organic clutch facings are gonna be a more comfortable to drive material, but do not have the holding power of some of the other materials like Feramic for example, which is designed to hold more horsepower.

    I just put the organic in my 2017, pedal is a lil stiffer . 1st to 2nd and Reverse is a lil tough, sometimes. It’s only been 3days, should that get better as it breaks in.?
    I’m using AMS oil MTG 75w90 filled 1qt over 6qt currently, I might put 1 more as most ppl say 7qt, thoughts?. And AMS MTF sync mesh in my transfer case .
    Why is it so quiet when I first start it? And then it gets louder once it warmed up? It’s not terrible..... but I like it better when It’s cold 😉

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As the fluid warms I'm sure that it will resonate sound better. We only add to the fill plug, then put plug back in and add 1 more qt. Never have gone over that. One thing on going into gear that you can do, lets say you are going to put it in reverse and it’s a little rough. Put the truck in another taller gear first THEN go for reverse. Should slide right in.

    Just installed the organic dual disk with hyd. on my 2012 g56. Is it
    normal for the pedal to be super stiff and harder to get the truck in
    gear? South Bend advised to wait 1000 miles before checking anything,
    the shop that installed said thats just how it is. Definitely doesn't
    feel right, has anyone experienced anything like this with South Bend
    clutches?

      @@richardm875 I'm using royal purple synchromax, 1 additional qt. The hard shifting has improved since break in. 1st 2nd and Rev. will always be stiff from what I have heard. Has to do with the additional weight from the rotating assembly. The hard pedal has not improved and is slightly annoying especially on long trips. Wish there was another option or a hydro booster I could add.

      how many qt total?
      How do you find the noise?
      Mine is quiet on cold start up for at least 15min of idle or 5 -7min of driving. Then it gets a lil noisy in neutral, clutch out and low rpm shifts
      All my other gears are smooth and easy, I read that about the added mass being an issue.
      I’m getting used to the clutch weight. I have 69 f100 with a heavy clutch. But I’d love a booster!!!!!

    • @The6-7Boltaction
      @The6-7Boltaction 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@richardm875 I am running 7 total, the noise has improved considerably since break in. I hardly hear it on the low rpm shifts. In neutral, just sounds like a louder diesel. The loudest it ever gets is when the truck is stopped on an incline. I have only ever had stock clutches in all my vehicles so can't say for sure that the stiff pedal is out of the ordinary. On the bright side, the engagement is great, very close to stock and it holds all the power I have thrown at it.

    • @super6954
      @super6954 ปีที่แล้ว

      Something seemed to be not right with this story, The only way you can have that kinda problem with zero miles on a new clutch is somebody screwed up putting it in / not the right kit, and they are lying to you trying to hide it. I worked in a shop where the new guy put a dual clutch in a tandem International grain truck, He didn't use the right aligning tool on the discs and wound the transmission in with the bolts to pull the 1" gap up that wouldn't slide, because the 2 disc spline sets weren't lined up together. Guess what it did to the clutch in less than 10 miles ! It cost the shop a ton of money and him loosing his job !
