- The famous MET tenor Javier Camarena talks about his warmup routine, placement, how to work around the passaggio, vowels and more.
The video was captured from his Instagram Live Story (26 November 2018). I do not own the content (it belongs to him / tenorjaviercamarena . I'm uploading the video for singing students like myself for educational purposes. Enjoy :)

To all you naysayers: many of the greats and even Callas admitted that every singer whether good or bad has something that through observation and explanation can teach you to do something you couldn’t before. You all sound like snobs for the sake of snobbery.
Not ever single singer is going to be an operatic paragon. But if you don’t want the art form to cease to exist you have to accept singers with faults. Get over yourselves.

Estimado Javier que gusto me da saber el magnífico y consciente nivel que has alcanzado con respecto a la técnica del vocal y la aplicación en el Canto. Hoy en día esta técnica está desaparecida y sólo unos cuantos como tu la han entendido. El giro de la voz del que tu hablas es el "passaggio de la voce" y que lo has explicado perfectamente y para que tu lo puedas explicar solamente se logra hacer cuando se ha ejecutado y entendido a través de la práctica. Personalmente te he dicho que me da mucho gusto de que seas mexicano porque pones en alto el nombre de México. Lo que me da más gusto es haberme encontrado este video y poder constatar que eres un tenor con conocimiento de la técnica y no solo de facultades, déjame que me explique: tres son los atributos atributos naturales con los que nacemos todos los seres humanos, para cantar y para cualquier actividad de nuestra existencia y estos son: facultades, instinto e intuición... el cuarto atributo es el Conocimiento, la maestría que se alcanza después de haber practicado y entendido acerca de la técnica para cantar. Soy Daniel Garay, un tenor del Coro de la Opera del INBA. Te felicito y recibe un abrazo sincero y de respeto para un mexicano que ha alcanzado un nivel de maestría. Con respecto al passaggio no se qué es más difícil, "si entenderlo o explicarlo", pero tu lo haces perfectamente. El que pueda entender que entienda. Un saludo.

I must say with the deepest of gratitude that as for a young tenor that needs lots of advice the lesson with Maestro Javier Camarena has been extremely brilliant! I am a student of professional English baritone, but this video was so very very helpful! Will watch it every day!!
Camarena can't give you an advice ,ha ha . He wakes up with C5 , ha ha . The voice is so high even when he talks ,he is so natural..
I'd advice you to not listen to Camarena. It creates a voice that is nasal, small, and with minimal chest participation, and will make your voice deteriorate over the years. Listen to his speaking voice. Horse and veiled. The same with Florez. Also nasal, and an unwell speaking voice.
Listen to videos of him singing, and note all the times his voice crackles and breaks, how it gets worse over the years.

Your subtitles are excellent. Just by minute 59:00 (perhaps 5 seconds before), when he says "El canto no deja de ser algo físico, un trabajo de resistencia", means: Singing IS still a physical activity and it IS about stamina, so we must not forget to rest enough.
