Ketamine, DMT and psilocybin containing mushroom are just amazing. I could remember several years ago, i was diagnosed with cptsd. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with related health challenges.

I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.

I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Germany. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them

I'm so very happy for you mate, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.

Hearing that it's slated for review in barely over a month makes me want to cry happy tears.

Same! My GP has strongly recommended me getting ketamine infusions! It's not covered by insurance (yet), but I've heard that there's a week long one that can be covered if signed off on by a psychiatrist!
There are also things like mindblook (the box they advertise where they send it to your home), but there's less advertised ones that seem to be way cheaper and more highly rated and recommended.
My friend works in the medical field and got access to infusions when they were first approved.
I've even thought about microdosing on psilocybin as I've heard that can be helpful for treatment resistant depression and help with ptsd and cptsd.
As much as it sucks to deal with the symptoms of complex ptsd, I am grateful we are in a time where these drugs are being looked at as options for addressing mental health. 70 years ago we might have just been lobotomized!
Hope you find healing and happiness ❤
Edit: I am currently trying to see if I can get approved, if not for the week long ketamine treatment, to get my therapist to be allowed to be my "trip sitter" to help guide me through a mail-order treatment process. Dunno if it will go through or be approved, but there's so many possibilities! Stay hopeful!

It's a huge deal. I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, BUT it's still pretty questionable whether MDMA will end up receiving approval. Just a month ago, the FDA committee evaluating MDMA as a PTSD treatment voted against it and there have been concerns about the validity of the research used to support its approval. The committee's vote doesn't directly decide whether the treatment gets approved, but it can impact the FDA's decision. They have certainly approved certain treatments, even when the committee votes against it. Guess we'll find out August 11th...

    • @Maquis1943
      @Maquis1943 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@neurotransmissions I was in a MAPS phase 2 clinical trial for MDMA-Assisted Psycotherapy for PTSD. The validity of the data is incredibly strong, much stronger than the data for SSRIs, for instance. The effect size is huge with over 68% of clinical trial participants *no longer meeting criteria for PTSD*, with the effect size only growing over time.
There has been a concerted and deeply dishonest campaign by a small disgruntled group of former psychedelic proponents who are using fear tactics to undermine the study. Fear gets eyeballs on twitter, propagates an "us vs them" mentality, and in an age of vaccine denial, science skepticism, and Q-Anon-like conspiracism, poisons the well. The FDA Advisory Committee vote, while purported to be based solely on science, was affected by this negative social media campaign. In addition, their concerns were fully addressed in the sponsoring agency, Lykos's, proposal, including things like the difficulty in blinding.
It's important to understand that the FDA has worked *literally hand-in-hand* with the sponsoring organization to construct the clinical trial, addressing all of the points that the advisory committee raised. Pharmaceutical companies have gone into these meeting with *drastically* less data supporting their drug application and have gotten through. Lastly, note that this is an Advisory Committee-not the actual FDA-and that one out of three applications that have been approved by the FDA have NOT been approved by the advisory committee, so there is 33% chance that MDMA-assisted psychotherapy could still be approved in August.
For those concerned, and waiting for this potentially revolutionary treatment modality to be made available, even if the FDA does not approve in August, all the data is there, save for some physical data not taken during the clinical trials. This means that there may need to be an additional study done on physcial effects of MDMA dosing *more than* the three dosings done in phase 3 trials. This modality will not be stopped. The data is very strong.
The disgruntled group of naysayers cannot change what we 420-odd participants in the clinical trials know to be true: that this treatment DOES have an effect on PTSD. With guardrails that satisfy the medical community, this modality WILL be approved.

    • @Maquis1943

@@neurotransmissions Hmmm. Why was do my comments *keep* getting removed? It's pretty disconcerting. I think being an MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD clinical trial participant with direct knowledge of the FDA approval process and the Advisory Committee meeting, my experience might offer useful information to your viewers (especially the ones who are struggling with PTSD and are concerned about the possibility of recieving treatment.)

    • @Maquis1943
      @Maquis1943 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Don't give up hope. I am a Phase 2 MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy for PTSD clinical trial participant. The data from the sponsoring organization, Lykos is incredibly strong. A small group of disgruntled and slighted former true believers have poisoned the well with conspiracy theories, manipulation of information, hearsay, and a deep misunderstanding of the research, clinical trial, and FDA-approval process. None of them are clinicians or scientists and have a political axe to grind. The FDA has worked hand in hand with Lykos over the past five years to ensure that the clinical trial was done to the FDAs high standards. The Advisory Committed meeting's decision, as stated in the comment below, is not binding. 1/3 of all new drug applicants are rejected and still get approved by the FDA. And even if there is more data that needs to be collected (e.g. physical data like heart rate, EEGs, liver and kidney function tests, etc), this is easily done with a likely limited clinical trial. This treatment can't be stopped-the 425 or so clinical trial participants who either *no longer meet criteria* for PTSD or whose PTSD symptoms are markedly reduced, are here, surviving, and will not allow a small group of naysayers to manipulate our experiences to advance their careers or further create division. See you on the other side!

@@LollyMarie1oh yeah, this isn't talked about often enough: this element of self-therapy.
Various psychedelic substances (according to a friend, of course) seem to help you "see through and beyond" your own mental barriers, false assumptions or defense mechanisms, and that can happen quite consciously, where you truly experience how, and why, you are getting in your own way, and can clearly see yourself dispensing with that mental construct. It's like a defense comes down, and you dream a more useful version of yourself.
I'm no psychologist, but that sounds to me like how you defeat some types of depression at their core.
So: it's not just a molecule that resets something in the brain plumbing. It supports a sort of spontaneous self awareness therapy.

I did get Ketamine right before my hip joint replacement procedure, at least I stopped screaming with pain. It felt like I was in a discotheque in the late 1970s. Flashing pink lights like stroboscopes. A very weird experience. When they wheeled me into the operting theatre, I was out. The procedure went very well and I couldn't remember anything. I have been doing at home ketamine therapy via telemedicine for anxiety and depression. It seemed to work wonders at first. I felt energized and unburdened. Though I was progressively increasing the dosage I felt like I was getting less benefit as time progressed. It never caused any problems I could detect either so it has not been a negative. If nothing else I completely lost my urge to drink. I was not drinking a lot but I am a health and fitness nut and drinking alcohol never sat right with me. I am grateful that ketamine helped me quit without feeling like I am missing out on anything. I have a couple doses left but I have been going a long time between doses and I don't plan to continue ketamine therapy. I feel like my anxiety and depression are very situational and that is probably why I can't seem to shake them. Maybe if my life circumstances change I will get relief.

8:30 it's not so much about glutamate system dysfunction, but rather that glutamate signalling influences BDNF release. Blockage of NMDA ligand gated ion channels via Ketamine leads to rapid BDNF realease. This is turn promotes the formation of new synaptic connections (neuroplasticity and ability to adapt/learn/change thought patterns) and has anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects.
Other things proven to improve depression, such as TCAs, SSRI and SNRI also lead to increased BDNF levels (with TCAs being the most potent), as do psychotherapy, doing sports, environmental enrichment and serotoninergic psychedelics (i.e. psilocybin, LSD - interestingly enough they also bind to 5-HT2A-mGlur2 and 5-HT2A-D2 receptor heteromers. many other receptors can fuse with one another aswell. This opens up a whole new field of study and implicates a vast amount of yet unknown interactions and mechanisms). Anyhow, BDNF is where most of the different depression models converge, since marks the point of intersection between them.

I always find it interesting that they want two other types of antidepressants to fail first before trying the one that works when those ones don't. Those ones can lead to suicidal thoughts, Spravato can relieve suicidal thoughts. Hmmm... Let's try the one that causes suicidal thoughts first... twice.
I know someone who was heavily depressed about 11 years ago. Zoloft had done nothing in the past, cymbalta gave them daytime hallucinations, and then Wellbutrin almost led to them ending their life. I didn't find out that they we're having suicidal thoughts until a year later. Maybe start with the safer one first (I know it's not without risk) and if that one doesn't work, then try the one that can cause suicidal thoughts.

@@eray9934I don't think it works in the same way that certain antidepressants do. I know someone who had never had suicidal thoughts, no matter how depressed they had been in the past, and then they took an antidepressant to try to get better and all of a sudden they started planning to end their life.
Considering what Dr Tracy Marks said in the video, the way that ketamine works seems to be completely different from to traditional antidepressants and therefore might not have the ability to trigger suicidal thoughts in the way that traditional antidepressants can. There may be some people however who don't see a reduction in their suicidal ideation, there isn't much in this world that works for absolutely everyone. I just hope that this medication becomes more accessible for those who really need it.

The more you take the further away from yourself and your worldly issues you go. A little bit will make you analyze your issues in a more objective and less biased (by mental struggles) light which helps you contextualize your problems properly.

Suddenly I started feeling like I was getting trapped into a sort of pokeball but it felt nice, Like being protected rather than trapped. The experience lasted about 1 hour and it was one of the most beautiful experiences I've had in my life.

    • @jameshatton4211
      @jameshatton4211 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

This is because it was ingested and slowed the drugs access route as well as prolonging the experience. That's also why weed edibles are so strong also. It's the additional metabolism via the liver that cause this.
If you put it into a capsule and prevent the first interaction with "stomach acids" or more so naturalizing digestive enzymes.... the capsule delays the release of most of the drug by it being absorbed in the intestine without being degraded by the digestive process. Essentially the capsule does eventually dissolve releasing pure un-selfadulterated ketamine directly where it's ready to be absorbed 👍
This effect is magnified significantly by breaking the doses up into several capsules rather than 1 big packed capsule 😉 to extend and create the greatest blood concentration would be to say break the dose into 6 and take 1 tablets every 10minutes set by alarm....... become witness to skyrockets in flight. Blood concentrations are what peak an experience and the same ideology can be applied to literally any drug that is ingested. This also plays a role in why psychedelics can cause a strong nauseating response in most people? It's not because of the drug it's self but the body's response to the drug being in the digestive tract. Taking an anti nausea tablet about 3 or 4 hours prior to taking your "trojan horse" dose of and follow the same protocol of maximising blood concentrations by slowing down the metabolism process not by increasing the concentration. It's the metabolism process that often crates the addiction of many drugs.
More often than not drugs can be more fulfilling at lower concentrations but with regimental ingestion scheduling to maximise the overall experience.
It's the sudden depletion of an active drug and rapid expulsion of the drug from the system that can be contributing the most to someone's addiction? We are all delusional to the myth of more is better and therefore set the addiction roller coaster a drift and metaphor for the loss of control along with social stereotypes and conditioning behaviour all cementing the reward and seeking parts of the brain.
Ingestion almost always never triggers those same pathways as something that is smoked or snorted. That's just my opinion anyway.
Anyone reading that is interesting in what I've said please be very very careful at you maybe mislead in to thinking you have a strong tolerance to a drug when in fact your body just has a strong well trained pathway for metabolizing such drugs? So you can't just start out on your current "tolerance" dosage and commence ingestion strategy and everything just be fine?
Mark my words that this is a recipe for instant overdose even with doses of the exact same as you normally have several times a day because it's the blood concentrations combined with the no inhibitory chemistry effects. You have been warned.
Note: I thought I was broken because after a hole year of not taking mushrooms i had picked and ate 15 fresh which should have sent me to the moon but did absolutely nothing at all what so ever? Not even the slightest hint of optical illusions or ground breathing or nothing? Dried weight of those mushrooms I estimated to be at least 7g. So testing my capsule theory I was blown away to getting full colourful visuals off just 0.6g of mushrooms? Not only that but it was the most pleasant feeling with no nausea? Dafuq did i just discover? That's when i realise that the digestive enzyme are too blame for neutralising my mushrooms before I even finished digesting them!
      Go test my theory

I threw up 3 times and become a vegetable for 1 hour!
      Never again!!!!!
Mushrooms can make you feel nauseas but it's mostly upset stomach chemistry with the mushrooms being bombarded with a enzymes from the gall bladder and pancreas (assisting with "digesting" or that is what you're body thinks) but those enzymes changes the pH which leads to rebounding effects of the body trying to neutralize....... This all translates to someone feeling sick. Having mushrooms processed and in capsules is an easy way to bypass the sick feeling of mushrooms? Ketamine however the onset was so rapid, i became drunk and unbalanced requiring me to hang onto the walls and surrounding objects to stay upright?
I got this really lethargic feeling come over me and I felt like I wanted to pass out? Then i dry reached......then somehow i managed to run (when I could hardly walk 10 seconds prior) and I made it to the bathroom to puke 🤮
Then I went to lay down. I was fine unless I sat upright or even moved? I felt like I was in a world of 2 × gravity
I sat upright and then struggled to get to the bathroom day reaching trying to cup my mouth but requiring the same hand to grip the door frames to stay upright?
I was literally a scene from either Wolf of Wallstreet or Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?
I puked 2 more times and then went and laid down in bed.
I sat and looked at a warped vision of the wall in my bedroom kind of like one of those mirror mazes you see at a carnival. I sat perfectly still in the same position that didn't make me feel sick and didn't move a millimetre for at least an hour until my vision stopped being a warped. I was too afraid that if I fell asleep I might puke in my bed or something?
After an hour everything went back to normal and I had left to remind me was gritty teeth and the feeling like I've done super sets of weighted incline sit ups at the gym?

As someone who has struggled with depression, anxiety, and chronic nerve pain, Ketamine has not only had an incredibly positive impact on my mental health, but has also helped me heal from a herniated disc in my back.
My back would hurt, so my muscles would tense up, causing me to compensate in my posture, which made my back hurt more and inflame, etc. etc. With ketamine, my muscles were able to loosen which allowed the inflammation to go down, which allowed me to get out of the cycle of compensating posture, which allowed me to strengthen the correct muscles without tensing up, and so on.
Once my body was freed from this cycle of pain, my brain was freed from the constant irritation of chronic pain, which let my mood brighten, which let me enjoy activities again and stop being so short-tempered with others, which allowed me to be more social in person, which also helped my mental state.
I'm so glad that we are making great strides in medicine and allowing peope to actually use the drugs that are SO BENEFICIAL! Ketamine changed my life so much for the better.

I've threaded my own Depression with Ketamine, this was dangerous, but I had enough trust in myself. It helped immensely. One thing that I rarely see discussed that Ketamine helps overcome thoughtpatterns. You can think about a topic in a new way, and after the trip keep the insight... this amazing in dealing with difficult topics where your mind seems stuck, where you're unable to come to different conclusion, or approach a topic from different perspective.
Having said this, I also had issues with addiction, where in very stressful weeks it helped me calm down and relax. But also was okay to get out, by not having any at home and relaxing my environment. I would not compare it with Opiods, where you're body is craving for it. Also these habits only developed after 5 years of taking it the first time. It's very unlikely to get hooked on it after a few uses. I actually helps a lot with other addictions. From seeing the good and the bad, I would highly recommend trying it, in a safe environment, and being smart about it.

I'm curious if part of your healing was things like: conscious new thoughts, looking directly at what you were afraid to, noticing the consequences of mental obstacles and consciously deciding more helpful ones. Do you know what I mean?
So feeling empowered, self aware and taking control of what's in your thoughts. I guess a kind of self therapy. As opposed to just taking a drug, and ending up better.

@@ivocanevo Hard to fully articulate but I'll try to in the least abstract way possible- it was as if, I was slowly chipping away at the traumatized parts of myself and replacing them. The first few months thoughts relating to it were all that went through my head. I was very much still functional, however it was if it was always there.
The fear aspect was more so in something like that happening again, - or in the feeling that everyone I met would be capable of doing the same, even though I knew that's not the case, the feeling of it still didn't go away before I had used ketamine.
What I feel separates it from normal therapy, was more so in the sense that - I can know certain fears weren't likely- however It wouldn't change that it was what I felt. Whilst on k, It basically let me very slowly reverse engineer negative feelings.

I have some thoughts. I've used ketamine recreationally and am excited about it's medical use. That said, I had a disappointing experience in the psych ward.
In lieu of all other forms of depression therapy, I was prescribed a k-hole, basically like a bandaid. Uncomfortable with the pushy staff and denied printed materials on side effects, plus having concerns about how it would affect my sobriety and an existing heart condition, I refused the treatment and was thus not allowed to leave the hospital.
A judge had to decide if I should be strapped down and administered this non-FDA approved medication. After waiting all weekend for this decision I was released, and now can't get the nasal spray I'd opted for instead.
Next time I'll play it safe and get my drugs on the street.

Honestly, I do wonder how many humans, as a whole, do /not/ have a mental condition or ailment. It appears most of it is beyond our control or even choice. Some of it can be circumstantial but I think there’s a large genetic (or even epigenetic) component.
Humans might be inherently mentally unwell or unstable creatures. I think it’s time we recognize that and adopt policies that help people rather than make things purposefully difficult.

    • @Dziaji
      @Dziaji 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@pidgepagonis I think I misspoke a bit. I meant your ability to use your muscles, like your coordination and reflexes.
With esketamine, or normal racemic ketamine (mix of both arketamine and esketamine, which is most common), you tend to lose coordination and your reflexes are highly delayed, so on medium, or even low, doses, you will find yourself stumbling and tripping on stuff.
With arketmine by itself, you remain way more coordinated, and can walk to the bathroom without stumbling, or catch yourself more effectively when you trip. Although, if the dose gets high enough to put you in a k-hole, you still end up immobilized and falling to the floor with arketamine, but before that point, you can basically physically function like a normal human, instead of your coordination being comparable to being drunk like esketamine causes.

this video is wildly informative on the profound medical uses of ketamine. i will say, within the recreational realm, i disagree with your statement. it is wildly addictive outside of a medical facility. within the music scene it has made a significant impact amongst the general scene and my personal peers, and even myself. your body can and will be severely affected and your mental dependency overtime will be as well. your physical dependency may not be directly dependent, like it would be with benzodiazepines, alcohol, or opiates however there can be significant harm to your bladder and kidneys. i know this from personal experience as well. at first, it is not addictive whatsoever. however overtime you don’t even notice the gradual use and tolerance increase and next thing you know, months later you’re doing 1-3g a day. an average dose is 0.1-0.15g.

Im in the uk and several of my friends take K for enjoyment and to mitigate the symptoms of depression.
The route through recognised health services isnt really available to most folk so they feel entitiled to use as the mood takes them , sometimes injuring themselves and with signs of bladder problems etc.
