I've listened to Arise, Korn's first album, and Tool's Aenema more than any other album (literally months on end for each), so yea I'd agree Arise is a classic masterpiece from beginning to end. And then they decided fuck it, we need a cool arse intro for concerts too! My face melted the first time I heard that!

They went from Death Metal (before it existed) with Morbid visions and Schizophrenia to thrash with Beneath the Remains and Arise (their masterpiece IMO) to Groove with Chaos AD and Nu Metal with Roots. And all of it is amazing. No one else has successful done that. Great great band. Desperate Cry, Dead Embryonic Cells, Propoganda, Territory, Refuse Resist Next

When you watch compil of the tours with the opening bands like Sacred Reich and Sick of it all, When Sepultura kicks in, the space in the sound the vibe and Max going " Wooohh " you realize that some of their entity belongs to the first wave death metal. Not like typical thrash

Man, back in the day Sepultura were the band to see. Brutally fast and aggressive but always a great time was had by all. You'd leave bloodied and bruised but very happy. The drummer Igor Cavalera never got his props for his playing ability.

The Arise album is honestly up there with one of the best thrash metal albums of all time (IE Rust in Peace, Master of Puppets etc).

It's not anger, it's intensity. Look up their "Finland - Giants Of Rock" set from '91. Pure fire.
