Wow! I love how they say... "I need 1.5 million" without blinking an eye. The auctioneer was fighting back a huge smile. Her pay must be based on a percentage. LOL. Fun to watch this Numi. Cheers!
Prices like these are so discouraging to the modest collector as it pushes rare coins likely forever out of reach - this was not the case up to 10-15 years ago. I just barely let a Three Graces Crown go at a major Brit auction for 4k pounds....
I would personally call the current second-hand market for coins to be horribly overpriced, especially for run-of-the-mill-year collectors and circulation silver collectors.
wow the edward rareity was the star. just amazing buy the american auction houste heritage. the very best of coins. so rare the king himself couldnt get one for himself. doubled what i thought it would fetch... a great battle for probably the worlds finest british rarest of big gold coins a treat to watch. well done heritage and the winner

I saw this recently, the most expensive British coin ever sold at auction. Happy Easter Numi.Did the Royal Mint have 2021 Maundy coins on Holy Thursday? For those who don't know, Maundy is Latin for commandment, which Jesus gave to his disciples at The Last Supper
Cheap for the Edward viii when you consider a crown jewel of British numismatic was beaten at auction by a batman comic, and the 3 Graces was cheaper than the Pokémon card, Blastoise. My only worry with numismatics is the absolute blindness everyone seems to have with pedigree. The 3 Graces here had no history and that to me seems crazy. Ex slaney (which sold for 40k in 2013) and I could agree with that in an eta of zero rates and huge wealth gaps. But where does this one come from? That more than the grade would make me sweat every time I would think of 300k in that context!!!
Wow! That was hmmm.. I don't even know what to say about that. What a "NEED" lol, Thanks for sharing friend ✌😎💙.
Glad to see you got the Edward VIII. I was not the under bidder.

Amazing results. I saw the £5 coin in the RM archives when my wife and I took the RM Gold VIP tour in 2019.
Thanks for sharing my friend. Great video

British coins are so under valued compared to American coins.
I am always amazed when some bidder pays a crazy price for a Lot there is a round of applause in the room, it seems so out of place.
Damm!!!!!!!!!
There is NO better example of just how worthless FIAT paper dollars are then handing over 1.9 million for an old coin.
I’m thinking of starting a Patreon for people having trouble getting rid of their worthless fiat.
Think of it as a social service.
