About time Plant Sims get some respect in their name. Plant Sims were always in the game but it's nice to finally play as a Plant Sim without the cheats
I've literally been thinking nonstop about how i used to cheat in plantsims now that I'm playing a legacy and its like i can finally add them without cheating!!
No cuz I remember in the 7th grade I was playing the sims and it kept glitching! I was so mad I started smacking my tf outta my keyboard and my sim turned effing green😭so I killed them.
You have always been able to create the plant sim tree. The stump is in build-buy catalog and you can collect all the seeds for it in rare seed packets. Then you grow the tree. No cheats necessary!
I just want more occults period. I like having a supernatural vibe to the game. Anyway plant sims look interesting at least one time playing so I might try this scenario out!
I wish they'd brig back hybrids as well. In TS3 you could breed two different occults to get a hybrid (can't remember if hybrids existed in TS2 but I think they might have?), but in The Sims 4 you can only have one type at a time which is so lame
Yes! Supernatural was my favourite pack in sims 3. I often played with a household with a fairy, a witch and a werewolf, all working together to make potions. Like the werewolf would be a gatherer for metals and gemstones, the fairy would be the gardener(the "bloom" spell fairies could do was so good) and the witch would brew the potions. You could level up the occult specific skills, which would give you new option. Like spells for the witches and fairies and werewolves could learn to sniff out valuable collectables on their own. I really hope werewolves and fairies make a comeback eventually.
@@KreeZafi Hybrids were more complex in TS2 because they weren't really supposed to exist. So you got really funky overlaps of textures, colors and traits. You could have a vampire plantsim whose only safe way of getting light is through a sunlamp over their coffin for example.
@@jadeykg123 skin tone KINDA has one now. They have several swatches that can scale. Similar to the Sims 3. Realistically that's all they could do and still have the babies get proper skin tones. Even WITH the new adjustments there is a bug where babies will appear pitch black in their infancy stage. Because of the skin tone blending. As for hair colors. I miss that we used to get roots, base, highlights, and tips to color.
I used to love Sims2 plant sim, they were ICONIC, they had their own tastes, their own cute leafy hair, their own leaf clothes, many spores interactions and they were so easy to reproduce since they could spawn more children by just shaking their head lol Really fun

I feel that Vampires are the best executed occults in TS4. Spellcasters have useful stuff, but didn't feel as fleshed out. I still use them a lot, but I also play with relics and haunted house and other occult stuff in the game regularly. Pretty rare that I play with a normal human sim
Plant Sims - seems familiar, I had no idea and was freaking out when my sim turned green with green hair and sprout leaves like a plant. I was so confused, I was searching the internet like mad and found out my sim because a plant sim and I didn't even know that it was something you eat. I was fascinated so thank you for the explanation.
They were my favorite occult in sims 2! I had a huge family of them. They had really short life spand if i remember correctly but could make babies just by themselves (without a partner). It was they only time i succeeded in having a 10 gen legacy! They were in sims 3 as well and were pretty similar i think? I was honestly really pissed off when i found out how they were in sims 4. All of their fun unique features gone...
it'd be fun if sims could do it temporarily and then eat another type of plant to make the change permanent. thats way sims could try out the plant sim life and decide its not for them or stay like that forever
I stumbled upon plant sims using a cheat a while ago and I turned my sim into one out of curiosity and then made them an off-the-grid treehouse gardener (in my head they were a nature nymph type thing). I looked it up to figure out what it was and still didn't get a lot of answers.
You could turn into a PlantSim for awhile now--simply by using the Rare Plants gardening packet and using them to fill up the tree stump (available in Build/Buy) or buying the mystical tress straight from debug. Interestingly, this is a base game feature, which is pretty cool! You can also get glowfruit trees through Rare Plants packets, which, if I'm not mistaken, were once part of an event.

I was wanting to start a fresh file, try some new stuff without worrying about relationship decay on the two played households on my main file, but was held back because of these challenge-exclusive stuff I wouldn't be able to get. So, nice to know there's a way.
@@lightb3am in one of the saves i did this with she cheated on me and ended up with triplets and then i started doing the not so berry challenge with those triplets it was great
I was hoping this meant they permanently brought back plant sims and made them a proper occult. OG's will know that plant sims existed in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 but in those games they WERE proper occults with a bunch of abilities and stuff. In The Sims 4 you just turn green for 5 days, it's so lame. Really recommend looking up the video comparing plant sims in TS2, TS3 and TS4!
@@sarahjacks2719 I believe they came in the University pack. You also got a science station which could be used for gene splicing and that way you could create the forbidden fruit
@@sarahjacks2719 you need to have univeristy pack with gardening lvl 7 and science lvl 10 to create a forbidden fruit seed in the science station machine thingy
I remember in the sims 2 you could double up, I once made a vampire/plantsim and he obviously couldn't stand in the sun, but we had lights for greenhouses that basically replicated the sun, so I simply had to put those lights in the house and he was chill, it was fun
I don't remember being able to do that. What I do remember is two vampires having a kid whose needs dropped so fast during the day that they got taken away in a single day. I don't think the game was smart enough to know the crib was near a window, but oof here one moment, gone the next. I started doing it where one parent would turn human for the time needed to get the kid to childhood, then would be a vampire again while waiting for the kid to age up enough to be turned to continue the family line.
Plant sims have been in the game for ages, I remember when I first got the sims 4 and played it for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing and created a house without a roof for the sim 😂.
Worse yet, you can't just eat the forbidden fruit every few days. You have to change back to normal before you can eat the fruit again to become a plantsim for another 5 days. Plantsims and werewolves were my favorite occults in sims2 and sims4 has utterly failed me in that regard
They're Actual Occult Sims, in Sims 3 they were permanent and had a bunch of abilities, then Sims 4 came along, took those abilities away and made them a temporary life state.
I love the colored hair, but I wish there were more style options with consistent colors. If I use any of them with color, I use it for all outfits so that it doesn't look like they only dye their hair for parties or whatever.
Yea and if I recall right, its only temporarily until you eat it again and turn green for awhile. I feel like this was more of EA saying "Oh hey! Don't forget about our secret plant sims affect" reminder
Plant sims have always been in the sims 4. You buy the tree stump i think it's in activities. Then you level up in gardening and unlock the rare seed packet. Then you collect all the coloured beans and put them in the stump then water it. It grows into a big tree you enter and then you're sim comes out with the fruit. You csn eat it or plant it and grow a tree of your own.
This plant Sim makes me miss the Sims2. Back then, I didn’t know how to change my Sim into a plant Sim. It all started when he got very interested in talking to a tree, then started whistling to a bird in that tree and he eventually turned into a plant Sim. This challenge will be fun to try.
We still have them! You can get the seeds from gardening seed packets and get the forbidden fruit that way. I didn’t realise about the challenge and a few months ago my sim at the fruit and turned into a plantsim 😂
This reminds me of my first Sims 4 playthrough. My sim was a gardener and eventually stumbled upon the plant sim track. Didn't even realize it was a temporary life stage since she died as a plant sim and forever haunted her children in that form.
I was totally thinking of making, like, maybe a nightclub or cafe or something? with each room being decorated/specialised to a different kind of occult. Like, a swimming pool room for the mermaids, dark room with no windows and coffins everywhere for the vampires, witchy decorations for the wizards...
Didn’t we have plant sims in Sims 2 or 3? Also if anyone knows of a cheat to turn them into permanent plants sims please let me know. It would be fun to have plant sim children.
Yup, both TS2 and TS3 had plant sims, and they were proper occult types which were WAY more fleshed out than these atrocities. There is a video comparing TS2, TS3 and TS4 plant sims, it really shows how garbage TS4 is lmaooo

I love the description of the forbidden fruit tree. Don't eat the plant sim fruit (yet), plant it and wait for the tree to grow. If you hover your mouse over the fully grown tree...Maxis has some stern words for you XD

I wish they were added as a permanent life state. It's hilarious making the one ice cream and then inviting a bunch of Sims around to eat it. They get so confused when they start sprouting leaves and turning green 😆
I'd have to say that my favorite occult sim is a spellcaster. They're so fun to use and make taking care of your family so much easier, if using practical magic. Very excited that PlantSims are back.

@@eltreebrancho sims 3 occults were so elite. I didn’t even care that near the end my game would crash all the time. It was so fun and full of detail and life.
Personally i prefer my aliens looking like actual stereotypical aliens with the big heads small body and large black eyes, green skin, or if not then actually make the super alien looking, like something out of star wars. In this game they look like man-sized fairies.... I like magical people feeling more old school, like robe wearing and messy hair, like Dumbledore. I like witches that look like old hags. I like scary vampires. Allot of the occults in this game aren't my style so i wouldn't exactly say any of them are my absolute favorites, but the closest would be the vampires. I don't like the concept of aliens in this game though with them just forcing their way into your gameplay doing things to your sims, the mermaids just bore me, and i really never cared for plant sims. If the plant sims felt more like Celtic folklore European creatures that were in tuned with nature like a wood elf, then id most likely love them, but them just being green people with waird hair, photosynthesizing and them getting their powers from uninspiring means? Na... Also i don't like the idea of plant like people living in any o'l boring suburban neighborhood, id rather have build mode to make them their own natural forest community full of trees and simple homes.
but... plant Sims have been in Sims 4 forever... I got excited when I saw the challenge because I thought maybe they'd overhauled it with more customization - I want my sim to look the same, with the same hair they already had but green. I really dislike the plant Sims hairstyle 🙃
My favorite occult has always and will always be Vampires. I've played one in every Sims game they were available. My main Sim is a vampire. Dude has explored every pack TS4 has come out with. Lol Spellcasters are a close second. His husband is one. Fav family of mine I stg
So once I found out about this awhile back I made it a goal to make the Easter bunny aka "flower girl" as the sims call her I guess... I made sure to merry her and add her to my household without cheating and currently making her master in gardening. I figured it made sense because she's a bunny sim. She also doesn't seem have to worry about any needs. She doesn't need sleep or anything. But yeah I figured I made it a personal challenge to do basically what they released. 😂 I hear you don't stay green forever though but idk. Also my favorite is vampires. Love anything closely related to Halloween 🎃
I played a bit of TS4 back when Plant Sims were a thing, but not nearly as much as I do now, or enough to know about the Plant Sim challenge. I think I had heard of Plant Sims before, and I kinda just assumed that they were plant-people occults. I think this is so cool! Favorite Occult: I think Spellcasters would be my favorite, but I don’t have Realm of Magic! 😭 I love the idea of having a witch or wizard Sim. Child me would immediately make her Simself to be a wizard.
I loveeeeeeeee the vampires occult I’m the biggest the vampire diaries fan and it’s really similar to the vampires in the show. Although I wish there were more stuff from the show like werewolf vervain and u can be a hybrid but my favorite pack is definitely the vampires one!!
I want Werewolves, Fairies and Genies back. I'd add in a more complex breeding system that lets you mix powers: A Genie could be a mix of an Alien and a Spellcaster. A Zombie could be a mix of a Skeleton and a Plantsim. A Fairy could be a mix of a Spellcaster and a Mermaid. A Werewolf could be a mix of a Vampire and Bigfoot. Bigfoot could be a mix of a normal Sim and a Werewolf. All of these have a 5% chance of happening, though you could still create them all in CaS.
I liked the plant "challange" when it first aired, and i was sad that i missed some of the other "challenges" so i would be nice if they came back as the new challenges that would be fun :)

I think plant sims were a challenge like 3-4 years back. But idk, ive been playing since the release of basegame and theres been a whole bunch (writing this AS kayla is talking about it, whoops). You could also get them via the 1000 simoleon advanced gardener seed pack
Plant sims.. I did that once, level up the gardening, to open up the rare seed packets to get the beans... then put them in the tree stump you buy. And then grow the tree to be a plant aim for like 3 days... it was a lot of work for not much pay out tbh 😂😂
I’m so glad I found a mod that adds plantsim as a CAS trait, and an additional that lets you change the hair. I played as one when eco living came out and it was fun!
I know of two ways to get a PlantSim, but both are sort of involved lol. First way you need to first buy the stump (under outdoor activities), then get the beans by maxing the gardening skill and buying a bunch of the rare seed packets and crossing your fingers. The other way is to dumpster dive for ingredients and also cross your fingers lol. Love that there's a new and easier way to do it haha
Am I the only one who has actually been turning Sims into plant Sims both after they were introduced and before they introduced the scenario? I found out about plantsims when I started a legacy family that ended up becoming really good at gardening. After that I created a sim called Twig and then promptly forgot all about her.
Favorite occult in the sims 4 has gotta be Vampires, but my fav occult overall was Fairies from the sims 3 :( extremely useful if your sim was a gardener but also the moodlets were super cute too! Like when the moon cycle was on new moon and your fairy sim would keep the "wheres the moon" moodlet until the next phase!

The plant sims have been around for a while. I just miss the old ones that made it a long term. Also my plants are being weird and aren't growing and improving as they should!
If you buy the tree stump and fill it with the different crystals found in rare garden packs. When you have them all a tree grows that you can enter rabbit hole style and get the plant sim fruit and other stuff.
I’m glad they brought attention to the Plant Sims, too. I accidentally shift-cheated one of my Sims into a Plant Sim a year or two ago and it freaked me out but I loved it!
Plant sims? Ok that seems cool… I personally would have liked werewolf sims first though, or fairy sims, mummy sims, Frankenstein monster sims, ogre sims, elfs and so on lol, I mean not like a costume but actually those sims with their powers and features and all that 😅
Plant sims are also from Sims 2 though, and sims 2 is very nostalgic for many. Very beloved. Its also where they properly started making the games as we know them today. Sims 1 was SO different. So bringing back plant sims was also a huzza for those of us that has played sims for actually years. Its not new to the sims 4. The sims 3 had werewolves and zombies and fairies and all that stuff, and it was fun. But plant sims are so nostalgic
though have to say. thye did have a costume in original sims that was "plant sim", but, it was just makeup and costume, not plant sim as we know them. Sims 2 had the best plant sims though! and the plant babies were too cute! The sims 4 plant sims just don't hit the same
I have been working on a TS2 save and for that one of the things I need is a way to make Plant Sims for toddlers. In The Sims 2 there were only two officially, but it was set up to make the final member of that family a plant sim if you wanted to. The one think I didn't like about it was that Plant Sim toddlers go straight from toddler to adult, so no baby stage, no child stage, no teen stage, and I'm not sure they could go to college, because they also skip the young adult stage. There was also no way to cure them of plant simism, so you couldn't have a plant sim create a baby (which is there child and there child only , though a second set of genetics come from the "ideal plant sim") and then cure them of plant simism so they could have a childhood. I did like that they could sprout children and it was cool that they were better at gardening (I think). I also know they had them in TS3, but I don't know much about how they handled them there. I think I probably would like to see an upgrade to Plant Sims that was some sort of mix of what was in those two games, but I am still glad that they gave people a way to make their sims Plant Sims without going into debug I've got some mods that I found that will help with the permanence and other things, so this is definitely good news. Rose Greenman is covered, but how do I make Daisey.
Even back in the day when I was a child my mom already would sometimes allow me to get a colorful streak or two when I went to the hair stylist with her. She obviously couldn't leave me home alone and the stylists where ok with people bringing decently well behaved children and those that were extra well behaved and cute occasionally would even get a few treats or like me a free green streak in my hair. I was like 5 and now I'm almost 30 and once again have green in my hair.
Probably a missed opportunity to 'flesh out' plant Sims more as a proper occult for the cottage living pack- Not as in 'putting plant Sims into a pack behind a paywall', but a plant Sim living in a green little cottage town is a cute idea with all the expansion around gardening it added- Or with seasons! And they could release a spellcaster/vampire/get famous system with plant Sims for different perks. Would be nice to see vs plants Sims how they are, 'this is a sim but Green and Has Basically The Same Mermaid Needs'
Sounds like a good idea but I think some of the packs should have been in the base game such as seasons. That being a life simulation would feel more normal. Just a thought
Im now sad I missed all those challenges back in Sims 4..... I have been playing sims since The Sims 1, but somehow I missed all those challenges, it might of been when I stubbornly stayed playing Sims 3 because I didn't like 4 because you couldn't customise everything, I miss being able to colour and customise everything in my house! I hate how Sims 4 doesn't make a full matching set of things.

I LOVE Spell casters so they're my favorite occult but vampires is right after~ I got the vamps as soon as they came out and I've alwys loved the fantasy stuff alot 💖

Magic Sims are easily my favorite. You can choose to ignore it for entire generations, or you could instantly repair your broken toilet. Set people on fire, or prepare a grand meal with just a little bit of charge. And their bassinets are so cute! I've been playing a legacy family that started as spellcasters at gen 2 and we're on 13 (14 has been born) right now. Absolutely adore them.
I still can't get over how fun plant sims were in Sims 2.....I even liked the way they were made better..... like overfertilizing and using too much bug spray :D it was so fun.....and the way they made babies! totally amaying! it would be cool to give them some occulty features
My favorite occult is still Fairies. Waiting for EA to reintroduce them. Cottage Living was the perfect pack to introducing them back. >>I've been playing with a household since TS2 (the Curious family) in where the baby alien Tyco grows up and gets married with a fairy inspired by Veronaville's Puck. I had a blast when I recreated them in TS3. I already have that family again, but I need fairies!
Plant sims are my favorite occult ever. I had a household full of all the occults and it was impossible to win with seasons because when it was sunny my vampire sim would be dying but when it was rainy my plantsim would be dying
I did know about Plant Sims but my issue with them is their item, i think it is called the Magic Stump. You have to have one of every beans to plant in it and it is still a real item in the catalog. Problem is the beans are no where to be seen, there is literally no way to get them in game or through cheats. Also, there is no natural way to become a Plant Sim in game like the other occult. You have to cheat in the UI to become a Plant Sim. So I knew about Plant Sims but I saw no need for them because their item was broken and you had to cheat to get them
I was playing a new save with a farmer girl who lived off the grid and made money by selling at "market" and out of no where she turned in to a Plant Sim. I had no idea they existed before that, but it was sort of annoying to need the water all the time.
alien sims are my favorite. get to work is a non negotiable necessity to my gameplay bc I love aliens so much. I wish aliens had some of the perks that vampires got. like the different levels for aliens to be very human like or more alien-like than human
My fav occult sim was the werewolves from sims 3 ;0; I wish those would be brought back along with the nightly “lock your doors” thing they used to have. That was fun

Same! I play one save file as slice of life and another save file as pure fantasy! Aliens, mermaids, vampires etc
For the hairs : you know how some hairs have accessorise like a bow? I wish we could change the colour of the bow separately.

I just hate how glitchy the haunted house is, I had to download a mod to fix it

Plant Sims - seems familiar, I had no idea and was freaking out when my sim turned green with green hair and sprout leaves like a plant. I was so confused, I was searching the internet like mad and found out my sim because a plant sim and I didn't even know that it was something you eat. I was fascinated so thank you for the explanation.
In the Sims 2 you had babies by putting a seed on the ground with a plant sim, and I loved them

They were my favorite occult in sims 2! I had a huge family of them. They had really short life spand if i remember correctly but could make babies just by themselves (without a partner). It was they only time i succeeded in having a 10 gen legacy! They were in sims 3 as well and were pretty similar i think? I was honestly really pissed off when i found out how they were in sims 4. All of their fun unique features gone...

it'd be fun if sims could do it temporarily and then eat another type of plant to make the change permanent. thats way sims could try out the plant sim life and decide its not for them or stay like that forever
You can turn them into one with the lump and the magic beans. No cheats needed. It was always like this before this update
I stumbled upon plant sims using a cheat a while ago and I turned my sim into one out of curiosity and then made them an off-the-grid treehouse gardener (in my head they were a nature nymph type thing). I looked it up to figure out what it was and still didn't get a lot of answers.
You could turn into a PlantSim for awhile now--simply by using the Rare Plants gardening packet and using them to fill up the tree stump (available in Build/Buy) or buying the mystical tress straight from debug. Interestingly, this is a base game feature, which is pretty cool!
You can also get glowfruit trees through Rare Plants packets, which, if I'm not mistaken, were once part of an event.
Over even by using testing cheats and Ctrl click a sim...yeah that happened the other day by accident
Wait - they made the stump thing available on a permanent basis? I can get it on households made after the original event for it?

I was wanting to start a fresh file, try some new stuff without worrying about relationship decay on the two played households on my main file, but was held back because of these challenge-exclusive stuff I wouldn't be able to get. So, nice to know there's a way.

I was hoping this meant they permanently brought back plant sims and made them a proper occult. OG's will know that plant sims existed in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 but in those games they WERE proper occults with a bunch of abilities and stuff. In The Sims 4 you just turn green for 5 days, it's so lame. Really recommend looking up the video comparing plant sims in TS2, TS3 and TS4!
Is there a certain pack you have to have to make Plant Sims in The Sims 3? Or a certain way you have to do it?
@@sarahjacks2719 I believe they came in the University pack. You also got a science station which could be used for gene splicing and that way you could create the forbidden fruit

I remember in the sims 2 you could double up, I once made a vampire/plantsim and he obviously couldn't stand in the sun, but we had lights for greenhouses that basically replicated the sun, so I simply had to put those lights in the house and he was chill, it was fun
I don't remember being able to do that.
What I do remember is two vampires having a kid whose needs dropped so fast during the day that they got taken away in a single day. I don't think the game was smart enough to know the crib was near a window, but oof here one moment, gone the next. I started doing it where one parent would turn human for the time needed to get the kid to childhood, then would be a vampire again while waiting for the kid to age up enough to be turned to continue the family line.
Plant sims have been in the game for ages, I remember when I first got the sims 4 and played it for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing and created a house without a roof for the sim 😂.

Worse yet, you can't just eat the forbidden fruit every few days. You have to change back to normal before you can eat the fruit again to become a plantsim for another 5 days. Plantsims and werewolves were my favorite occults in sims2 and sims4 has utterly failed me in that regard
They're Actual Occult Sims, in Sims 3 they were permanent and had a bunch of abilities, then Sims 4 came along, took those abilities away and made them a temporary life state.
Plant sims were always there. You had to eat the forbidden fruit and they would turn into a plant sim
Right! If you shift clicked the Sim, it gave you the option to turn them into a plant Sim. It has always been there.
I love the colored hair, but I wish there were more style options with consistent colors. If I use any of them with color, I use it for all outfits so that it doesn't look like they only dye their hair for parties or whatever.

Plant sims have always been in the sims 4. You buy the tree stump i think it's in activities. Then you level up in gardening and unlock the rare seed packet. Then you collect all the coloured beans and put them in the stump then water it. It grows into a big tree you enter and then you're sim comes out with the fruit. You csn eat it or plant it and grow a tree of your own.

This plant Sim makes me miss the Sims2. Back then, I didn’t know how to change my Sim into a plant Sim. It all started when he got very interested in talking to a tree, then started whistling to a bird in that tree and he eventually turned into a plant Sim. This challenge will be fun to try.

This reminds me of my first Sims 4 playthrough. My sim was a gardener and eventually stumbled upon the plant sim track. Didn't even realize it was a temporary life stage since she died as a plant sim and forever haunted her children in that form.
I actually really really like the idea of occult sims. I only have the base game but love to build pretend houses and rooms for them.
I was totally thinking of making, like, maybe a nightclub or cafe or something? with each room being decorated/specialised to a different kind of occult. Like, a swimming pool room for the mermaids, dark room with no windows and coffins everywhere for the vampires, witchy decorations for the wizards...

Yup, both TS2 and TS3 had plant sims, and they were proper occult types which were WAY more fleshed out than these atrocities. There is a video comparing TS2, TS3 and TS4 plant sims, it really shows how garbage TS4 is lmaooo

I'd have to say that my favorite occult sim is a spellcaster. They're so fun to use and make taking care of your family so much easier, if using practical magic. Very excited that PlantSims are back.

Personally i prefer my aliens looking like actual stereotypical aliens with the big heads small body and large black eyes, green skin, or if not then actually make the super alien looking, like something out of star wars. In this game they look like man-sized fairies.... I like magical people feeling more old school, like robe wearing and messy hair, like Dumbledore. I like witches that look like old hags. I like scary vampires. Allot of the occults in this game aren't my style so i wouldn't exactly say any of them are my absolute favorites, but the closest would be the vampires.
I don't like the concept of aliens in this game though with them just forcing their way into your gameplay doing things to your sims, the mermaids just bore me, and i really never cared for plant sims. If the plant sims felt more like Celtic folklore European creatures that were in tuned with nature like a wood elf, then id most likely love them, but them just being green people with waird hair, photosynthesizing and them getting their powers from uninspiring means? Na...
Also i don't like the idea of plant like people living in any o'l boring suburban neighborhood, id rather have build mode to make them their own natural forest community full of trees and simple homes.
but... plant Sims have been in Sims 4 forever... I got excited when I saw the challenge because I thought maybe they'd overhauled it with more customization - I want my sim to look the same, with the same hair they already had but green. I really dislike the plant Sims hairstyle 🙃
My favorite occult has always and will always be Vampires. I've played one in every Sims game they were available. My main Sim is a vampire. Dude has explored every pack TS4 has come out with. Lol Spellcasters are a close second. His husband is one. Fav family of mine I stg
So once I found out about this awhile back I made it a goal to make the Easter bunny aka "flower girl" as the sims call her I guess... I made sure to merry her and add her to my household without cheating and currently making her master in gardening. I figured it made sense because she's a bunny sim. She also doesn't seem have to worry about any needs. She doesn't need sleep or anything. But yeah I figured I made it a personal challenge to do basically what they released. 😂 I hear you don't stay green forever though but idk. Also my favorite is vampires. Love anything closely related to Halloween 🎃
I played a bit of TS4 back when Plant Sims were a thing, but not nearly as much as I do now, or enough to know about the Plant Sim challenge. I think I had heard of Plant Sims before, and I kinda just assumed that they were plant-people occults. I think this is so cool!

I loveeeeeeeee the vampires occult I’m the biggest the vampire diaries fan and it’s really similar to the vampires in the show. Although I wish there were more stuff from the show like werewolf vervain and u can be a hybrid but my favorite pack is definitely the vampires one!!

I'd add in a more complex breeding system that lets you mix powers:
A Genie could be a mix of an Alien and a Spellcaster.
A Zombie could be a mix of a Skeleton and a Plantsim.
A Fairy could be a mix of a Spellcaster and a Mermaid.
A Werewolf could be a mix of a Vampire and Bigfoot.
Bigfoot could be a mix of a normal Sim and a Werewolf.
All of these have a 5% chance of happening, though you could still create them all in CaS.

Plant sims have been around for awhile, I get forbidden fruit of the plant sims all the time in dumpsters and have been since eco lifestyle.

I think plant sims were a challenge like 3-4 years back. But idk, ive been playing since the release of basegame and theres been a whole bunch (writing this AS kayla is talking about it, whoops). You could also get them via the 1000 simoleon advanced gardener seed pack

I know of two ways to get a PlantSim, but both are sort of involved lol. First way you need to first buy the stump (under outdoor activities), then get the beans by maxing the gardening skill and buying a bunch of the rare seed packets and crossing your fingers. The other way is to dumpster dive for ingredients and also cross your fingers lol. Love that there's a new and easier way to do it haha
Am I the only one who has actually been turning Sims into plant Sims both after they were introduced and before they introduced the scenario? I found out about plantsims when I started a legacy family that ended up becoming really good at gardening. After that I created a sim called Twig and then promptly forgot all about her.
Favorite occult in the sims 4 has gotta be Vampires, but my fav occult overall was Fairies from the sims 3 :( extremely useful if your sim was a gardener but also the moodlets were super cute too! Like when the moon cycle was on new moon and your fairy sim would keep the "wheres the moon" moodlet until the next phase!

The plant sims have been around for a while. I just miss the old ones that made it a long term. Also my plants are being weird and aren't growing and improving as they should!
If you buy the tree stump and fill it with the different crystals found in rare garden packs. When you have them all a tree grows that you can enter rabbit hole style and get the plant sim fruit and other stuff.
I’m glad they brought attention to the Plant Sims, too. I accidentally shift-cheated one of my Sims into a Plant Sim a year or two ago and it freaked me out but I loved it!

Plant sims are also from Sims 2 though, and sims 2 is very nostalgic for many. Very beloved. Its also where they properly started making the games as we know them today. Sims 1 was SO different.
So bringing back plant sims was also a huzza for those of us that has played sims for actually years. Its not new to the sims 4.
The sims 3 had werewolves and zombies and fairies and all that stuff, and it was fun. But plant sims are so nostalgic

I have been working on a TS2 save and for that one of the things I need is a way to make Plant Sims for toddlers. In The Sims 2 there were only two officially, but it was set up to make the final member of that family a plant sim if you wanted to. The one think I didn't like about it was that Plant Sim toddlers go straight from toddler to adult, so no baby stage, no child stage, no teen stage, and I'm not sure they could go to college, because they also skip the young adult stage. There was also no way to cure them of plant simism, so you couldn't have a plant sim create a baby (which is there child and there child only , though a second set of genetics come from the "ideal plant sim") and then cure them of plant simism so they could have a childhood. I did like that they could sprout children and it was cool that they were better at gardening (I think). I also know they had them in TS3, but I don't know much about how they handled them there. I think I probably would like to see an upgrade to Plant Sims that was some sort of mix of what was in those two games, but I am still glad that they gave people a way to make their sims Plant Sims without going into debug I've got some mods that I found that will help with the permanence and other things, so this is definitely good news. Rose Greenman is covered, but how do I make Daisey.
I agree there should be a solid version of the new hair, but I will say there’s a bunch of child-friendly hair dye! 🤗
Even back in the day when I was a child my mom already would sometimes allow me to get a colorful streak or two when I went to the hair stylist with her. She obviously couldn't leave me home alone and the stylists where ok with people bringing decently well behaved children and those that were extra well behaved and cute occasionally would even get a few treats or like me a free green streak in my hair. I was like 5 and now I'm almost 30 and once again have green in my hair.

Probably a missed opportunity to 'flesh out' plant Sims more as a proper occult for the cottage living pack- Not as in 'putting plant Sims into a pack behind a paywall', but a plant Sim living in a green little cottage town is a cute idea with all the expansion around gardening it added- Or with seasons! And they could release a spellcaster/vampire/get famous system with plant Sims for different perks. Would be nice to see vs plants Sims how they are, 'this is a sim but Green and Has Basically The Same Mermaid Needs'
Sounds like a good idea but I think some of the packs should have been in the base game such as seasons. That being a life simulation would feel more normal. Just a thought

Magic Sims are easily my favorite. You can choose to ignore it for entire generations, or you could instantly repair your broken toilet. Set people on fire, or prepare a grand meal with just a little bit of charge. And their bassinets are so cute!
I've been playing a legacy family that started as spellcasters at gen 2 and we're on 13 (14 has been born) right now. Absolutely adore them.
i remember it all, jasmine holiday, plant sims, the day of the dead skulls and easter egg events, ahhh throwbacks
I still can't get over how fun plant sims were in Sims 2.....I even liked the way they were made better..... like overfertilizing and using too much bug spray :D it was so fun.....and the way they made babies! totally amaying! it would be cool to give them some occulty features

My favorite occult is still Fairies. Waiting for EA to reintroduce them. Cottage Living was the perfect pack to introducing them back.

Mermaids are my favorite occult sim. They have long lifespans, and they love the water just like I do!
Plant sims are my favorite occult ever. I had a household full of all the occults and it was impossible to win with seasons because when it was sunny my vampire sim would be dying but when it was rainy my plantsim would be dying
I did know about Plant Sims but my issue with them is their item, i think it is called the Magic Stump. You have to have one of every beans to plant in it and it is still a real item in the catalog. Problem is the beans are no where to be seen, there is literally no way to get them in game or through cheats. Also, there is no natural way to become a Plant Sim in game like the other occult. You have to cheat in the UI to become a Plant Sim.
So I knew about Plant Sims but I saw no need for them because their item was broken and you had to cheat to get them
I was playing a new save with a farmer girl who lived off the grid and made money by selling at "market" and out of no where she turned in to a Plant Sim. I had no idea they existed before that, but it was sort of annoying to need the water all the time.
alien sims are my favorite. get to work is a non negotiable necessity to my gameplay bc I love aliens so much. I wish aliens had some of the perks that vampires got. like the different levels for aliens to be very human like or more alien-like than human
My fav occult sim was the werewolves from sims 3 ;0; I wish those would be brought back along with the nightly “lock your doors” thing they used to have. That was fun
one of my favorite families in the Sims 3 was a plant sim family 🥺🪴💚
edit: plant sims in the sims 3 were soooo much better!
