Jerry's acting in this series is really good. Jerry as Dr Su Iwa was never over acting and he tries hard to hold back his feelings be brave and optimistic losing it later when two people he cared about died and when his girlfriend gave up on their relationship and left breaking his heart again and again. We see all the politics and emotions, the story, all through the eyes of Dr Su who is innocent to the power plays and the fighting that his superiors engage in. In fact Dr Su was the only doctor who requested a transfer because he wanted to leave all of this behind and work at a much better hospital who appreciated his expertise and research. He asked his girlfriend to join him and together they would have had their happily ever after, but of course being caught between the political wars one of his superiors secretly pulled the plug on his transfer and his life will be changed forever.
Sad towards the end. He loses 2 people in his life that he really cared about. A 3rd if you count Dr Tang his previous mentor. Dr Tang was really mean to him at first because Jerry's character was caught in the middle of the hospital's politics, but in the end Jerry's character visits Dr Tang after his stroke and Dr Tang realizes what a good person (a pure heart) he really is.
