- Apple just announced a brand new Apple Pencil with a cheaper price point, sliding USB-C charging port, no wireless charging and no pressure sensitive tip
This thing is clearly aimed at education or enterprise as a cheaper alternative but the way it charges and the relatively high price is somewhat confusing still

"Oh a stylus, we're gonna use a stylus, right?

@@insidiousyThis was said in reference to having a stylus being used as the primary way to interact with your device.
With iPads, the primary way to interact with your device is STILL your fingers. The Apple Pencil is just a supplementary tool that adds additional functionality to the iPad that some people may find useful.
So while I can see Steve Job being pissed at Apple for what they’ve become, it would likely not be for that reason.
Mr. Steve "no USB ports on Apple" Jobs would've been cool with it.
The only thing Jobs would be unhappy with is the fact that Apple devices are sold so cheap...

@@justpassingby298yeah yeah probably 👍
How
Their intent wasn't to troll customers. Since the EU requires any and all electronics sold by 2024 to have a USB-C port, if Apple didn't refresh the pencil with USB-C, they would've been banned from selling it (well, at least, they would've been banned from selling the Gen 1 which still makes them money because of the 10th gen iPad.) They're likely to discontinue the 1st Gen by the end of 2023.

Apple fans will admit anything but the fact that the company is literally ripping them off of the customer's money by providing expensive alternatives.
They always make the worst decisions when comes to charging ports
This a perfect stylus for people with the 10th Gen iPad since you can’t charge it magnetically. Now people who have that device don’t have to deal with the stupid method of charging the 1st Gen Apple Pencil with an adapter.
@@elijahsmall5873 I know, I have the Ipad Air 3, that also doesn't have magnetic charging. But honestly why did they release a product with the port on the worst place possible just to redesign it a few years later and make everyone have to buy a new one if they want comfortability?...
@@elijahsmall5873
But you still need an ugly cable to charge.
In my opinion it would have been better if they‘d made the usbc connector looking out of the Apple Pencil (just like with the 1st gen) so you don’t need a cable and you can just simply plug it into the iPad.
The worst would be a charging port at the tip of a pencil.)))

its for artist. If your a regular person why would even buy it
@@feofino1no it's not for artists. Definitely not. Artists NEED pressure sensitivity, that's why even the cheapest cheap drawing tech you can buy comes with it, it's not a matter of preference.
The Apple mouse is probably called IMouse
It'd be better to buy the apple pencil version 1, the original. I have that one since 2018 and it's great for drawing (it does have the pressure sensitivity tip)
Meltdown instrumental in the background let’s go🔥🔥
The whole purpose of this pencil is the 10th gen iPad. It was weird using the first gen Apple Pencil on it and this provides a better solution. This pencil is definitely good for note taking but not as good for drawing with the lack of pressure sensitivity, so it definitely makes the 10th gen the iPad meant for people that just take notes, while the higher end iPads are more for art with the 2nd gen pencil
That’s what I thought at first, I’m a student with a ninth gen iPad that I use to take notes with a Logitech pencil so I can understand what it was intended for the 10 gen but I would also never buy the 10 gen because it’s more expensive than the 9th
What about the 1st generation pencil. They should of got rid of it. When they get the chance
@@jayyli7204 they probably will when they stop selling the 9th gen iPad, but for now they have to keep selling the 1st gen Apple Pencil for this iPad

So it’s just a dollar store item marked up 200%? The only major difference between an Apple Pencil and a DS stylus was the fancy tip.
i just want a stick that can be used with a touchscreen, i don't need a fancy pencil
Meltdown instrumental 🔥
The fact it has hover sensing (which is only an iPad Pro feature) but no pressure sensitivity is insane.
Going to be waiting forever for an iPad calculator app that isn’t spyware
Did anyone else hear the tie fighter shooting in the background?
Wait? No pressure sensitive tip features? That makes zero sense. That is what makes it an Apple
Pencil. Otherwise you could use a plastic stick and get the sane result.
Edit: okay, I see. It has the tilt sensitivity to give you shakier or bigger pen strokes but you don’t get a color change based on how hard you press. Honestly, I don’t use it for art, so this is a positive change for my use case, which is note taking.
Wait it gives you tilt but not pressure support? Why? Usually it’s the other way around.
And if someone is buying a stylus and doesn’t care about pressure sensitive the for sure don’t care about tilt sensitivity. They are probably just note taking and at that point anything over $20 is a waste of money for them because anything else can do the job just as well.
Bro edited the comment but still spelt same wrong
My both knock offs support the tilt sensitivity. No pressure sens of course

The charger is to align w/ the new iPhones to comply w/ the 2022 Radio Equipment Directive by the EU Parliament & Commission which requires all radio devices to use usb-c chargers. iPads already had it before the directive anyways
Little does he know there’s gonna be the Apple Vision Pro
It's funny because Samsung's devices come with the pen
They literally just add the price to the cost of the pad. Apple also has pressure sensing technology on the pencil
@@feofino1
And yet the tablets are still cheaper than the IPad’s…
Not to mention, the Samsung S Pens have pressure sensitivity too.
Oh no, Apple are not the same anymore, they should've made a charging port near the pen tip so it would had no ability to use it while charging.
I got a pencil exactly like this on sale for $10 on amazon from $20. I got it as a cheap backup for traveling, but it’s more responsive than my actual apple pencil! 😂 It lacks pressure sensitivity but it has tilt, and still has a better overall feel to drawing than the apple one. It even came with way more pencil tips lol.
They gonna add memory to the fucking thing
I have the pencil 2 and it’s amazing, wireless charging does it for me
there shouldn’t be 3 different pencils. this is needlessly confusing.
Bro I have $10 alternative that has Type C charging palm, recognition, sidereal, pressure, sensitivity and more but it was on sale. It’s typically $20.
Those who use the iPad as their essential notebook for school or work know for a fact how important the double tap is lol
Sometimes you be switching to an actual pencil for other tasks and you catch yourself double tapping the damn pencil😂.
It’s cool that they’re doing this, but for the price drop, I feel like they definitely could’ve included a mini button or just kept the tap
I don't understand why they want to use USB for charging a pencil. My Microsoft Surfaces pen uses batterys and I had to swap it only once during all the time I owned the tablet (probably like 4 years or so)
Or what if.. hear me out.. they just include the apple pencil when you buy one of their massively overpriced ipads?
Overpriced? There isn’t a single Tablet that competes on performance
Ah yes another blind fool who looks at the price tag and goes “overpriced”🤓
@@blue_ig1 that's because it is. There are many other options out there that you can get more for your money.
@@UrAvgRetail if you need something powerful there are much better options for the money. It doesn't need to be a tablet and with how people use iPads you can get very good laptops for the price range.

the thing that set the apple pencil apart from others was def the presssure sensitivity, now this pencil is basically just a stylus but +90 bucks
I once got a pen with a touchscreen tip as a marketing goodie once for free, apparently they have the same range of features now
So they have 3 pencils now? So strange. I have the older style and it works just fine. When I upgrade to a new iPad I'll just get the $100 pencil. No idea why they need this "middle" version.
So it’s pretty much a stylus?
I have the 1st gen pencil for my iPad 8 and I actually love it. I like how the entire pencil is rounded and doesn’t have a flat edge. I also don’t even hate the fact it plugs in. At least you don’t need to carry around a charging cable to charge it like you would have to with their new pencil
congrats on the skyrocket views brother 🎉
The thing is there are so many better copies out there if we told about no sensitivity. Apple stays and stood taller than them cause it has the sensitivity. As a person who draws I had bought a copy to see if I like the idea of drawing on an iPad and I did but it was god awful without pressure sensitivity so I bought the Apple Pencil for that reason then.😂 and it all worked well. Seeing them make this makes me laugh a bit cause I know it will still cost somewhere to 50+ and yes we have pencils that do the same for 10. Lmao.
