I thought that the Music & Sound effects was to set the Mood of what's happening during the reading. Happy sounds during happy moments and Sad or Scary sounds during uncertain or bad moments ... To me it's like listening to the live action audio version of the New Testament with Jim C (from Passions of The Christ) and many other actors.
