James, great review except... you missed the baddest ass part. It’s got lit gauges in there. The move must be getting to ya.... Great review though James!
Very nice review. Always loved that SP paint scheme. Another great Rapido product that I would love to have. Best of luck on your move and layout rebuild!
Fun fact: The user manuals for these were done in the blue, and special lettering to represent the actual ALCO RS manuals. Can’t wait for their MEC versions.
Sorry the layout is coming down for the move. Hope you get as large or larger space in new home. Thanks for all the good information you consistantly post.
Quick n dirty short detector... 1- Old school light socket w/wires 1- Old school push n turn light bulb (auto brake/turn/stop) 2- Roach...er alligator clips. :) Touch clips to rails...light on good, light off bad. Otherwise, I greatly enjoy your reviews!
Hi. Thanks for your video reviews. I was thinking of getting back into HO scale after 4 decades of not playing with smaller gauge than O Scale. This Rápido engine may just push me over the edge. The trouble is, I can't find this one in the this videos' color scheme by following your link in DCC.
Rapido is a new brand name for me. I will have to look into them a bit more. I am curious to the quality comparisons to Athearn, BLI and MTH. Those are the main 3 manufacturers that I prefer. Bachmann is trying to compete with the main players but falls short on quality. However, they are much cheaper in price so it’s expected.
Nice job James, I really like your reviews and I can’t thank you for doing them. Have you been looking into the Atlas HO GP40-2W because I reviewed it, and I remember talking to someone about it. Anyway hope your move continues to go smoothly, and have a good night.👍🏻
have you heard of any problems with the BLI n scale locos dieing ? sorry to ask this but my setup is not dcc yet and i have a BLI lococ and wanting to order some more of these nice locos...but after hearing that not sure.....this was from a few older videos from other people........I also wanna get some ho locos..... i did buy 1 athern so far in ho and it is very nice!! Nice review also!
It's a good looking model but there are a couple things I think should be mentioned. The F10 function has a programming error and out of the box doesnt work. Rapido is working with ESU and is supposed to be putting out a fix on their website soon. Also F6 is the control stand lights, that does not appear to be in the manual.
It looks nice, although some functions don't work and I don't have a LokProgrammer. The shades look odd being clear, and one of the windows is incorrectly placed. I'll wait for another company to make one for now.
what really gets me is the packaging of the HO scale locomotive compared to the N scale. Except for the actual wooden padded case that the TRIX UP Big Boy that was released about 18 years ago in HO scale which for the price of it should be nothing less than delivered in a felt lined molded foam wooden box. Why is N scale always shipped in plastic "pill bottle" styled jewel boxes and not like that of the HO scale locos? They may be 1/2 the size but at least give the N scale some class!!
Now here is a train fact the The Alco FA locomotive Was Alco's answer to the EMD F3 locomotive the RSD-7 was Alco's answer to the EMD SD7 What was Alco's answer for the RS11 what engine was it competing with EMD

And it has ground lights!

Use your Digitrax system to diagnose your short. It has a high pitched sound where the short is.
An interesting looking and sounding locomotive- Rapido company is an impressive model rr manufacturer.

Have you gotten a chance to take a detailed look or do a review on the Beilhack snow blower from Roco yet?
F6 turns on and off the control stand lights as it may have been omitted in the instruction manual. It was in mine!!
Awesome video!
Good luck on the move
This is a cool RS-11 locomotive, Have fun on the move.
That’s a sweet locomotive definitely
Moving the layout! One of my first videos I was captured with when I started was you building the layout from scratch! 8 years ago?

with 396 grams how much did the pull test show, if it exists
Looks like the fan is too small again, like on the RS-18s.......
'
nice pretty hobby toy train...
what country made this train
The manuals have been replicas of the original operators manuals for the real locos. Seems to be the theme your referring to?

Gp9 I believe
can you add translations to Indonesian? 😊
396 grams?
I have that one
The quality control on these models are horrendous. They break down after a few hours runtime.
