Truly great drummer and teacher of the craft. Thank you kindly, Thomas. You are a master of the drums. I have watched many great drummers over the years, and you rank up for there with Steve Gadd and Vinnie Caliuta for sure. Neal Peart was my hero growing up, but you have surpassed him in my ranking. Every video I watch of you is a reward for an old drummer getting back his skills.
Nothing to it ,all you need to be is fricking ambidextrous .Thomas Lang, you are a great. Although I'm not ambidextrous, your teaching helped.

That´s frustrating and motivating at the same time.
Way before the Internet you had to pay someone like $10 a half hour to get a fraction of the information Mr Lang is putting out here and many of those "teachers" giving lessons, were total hacks. Great stuff here.

Easy: there is no difference really. If you play a 6 stroke roll as a sixtuplet it is an inverted paradiddle-diddle : RllrrL .. cool? Best from Berlin...
@@drumtrainer Actually, there is a difference. A 6 stroke roll (pas rudiment n° 8) is RLLRRL (or LRRLLR), with the two diddles being DOUBLE STROKES, while a single paradiddle-diddle (pas rudiment n° 19) is RLRRLL (or LRLLRR), all SINGLE STROKES.
@@anga7292 I highly disagree:) also the diddles in the paradiddle-diddle or in this case the inverted paradiddle-diddle RLLRRL are double-strokes and played as such. The only difference is, that the pas#8 is written differently, but in the end it´s the same..PAS#19 the name single paradiddle-diddle doesn´t mean that the diddles are played as singles..those are still diddles;-) ok enough nerdism.. all the best AA A

TL is just power waiting to explode he is so fluid...hands so developed the most complex is child-like...awe factor w this player...at times too machine-like perfection...lacks groove and feel, just blazes away which is the main critique of TL
