I think the arrows on the HUD should have an option to go into perspective mode. I find with the BMW HUD I have to do some mental math to understand how to place the 2D top down image to perspective mode. It should be done automatically and no mental math. The more mental math that has to go down the more focus is diverted off from driving properly. I think it should be seamless and a no-brainer aid.
The worst is when approaching a road that has multiple right or left turns so close together. In perspective mode it would be easier to understand which turn it should be. With how technology is, it should be possible to AR which road. Sometimes, especially North Jersey/NYC roads it takes so long to get back to where you should have been. When late for a meeting it's problematic. I find with GPS (latest cellphone android smartphone) some road names don't even show up on the sign but it was the exit. There has to be a fool proof way on which exit to enter not guess 1 out of 3 and if you get it wrong you tack on 20 minutes to your time because the traffic is massive.

wow a plastic airbag cover i wonder why never anyone has done that on a steering wheel ?
oh wait thats right because an airbag works with a small detonation that will then embed plastic shards in your face
