Thanks for featuring so many Academy kits in your videos. Many of their early kits were plagued by bad fit and soft details, so I'd stayed away from them. Your videos have convinced me that they've cleaned up their act and are now producing good, build-able models. I'll definitely give them a try.
Wow, that is an impressive technique using black as the base coat and applying the final color as the second coat! I'm building a Merkava right now and I'll try this on my model. Thank you for this video!
Great job on the Merkava Andy. You amaze me how quickly you can build, paint and weather a model tank and make it look so simple too. I know you put in a lot more time than we get to see, but you just seem to have a natural gift for modelling. Many thanks for sharing this latest build and I am already looking forward to seeing the next one. Have fun, Joe
The Merkava MKII is, imho, the most interesting looking Merkava. I'm sure they had a reason to make the MK 4 with the huge turret, but this assymetrival front and turret front is outright amazing.
I'm a new subscriber and I have to thank you for all your videos. I haven't made a 1/35 model since 25 years and I've just finished a beautiful Tamiya PzIII ausfL. It's a complete success because of you. So thank you again ! Greetings from France.
Wonderful to watch the fabulous builds Andy. You have reinvigorated my love for armour modelling with your honest approach. Where sometimes parts are broken off, lost in the carpet or fitted upside down, we've all done it but your finished models are just fabulous! A huge thankyou and we in the UK wish you every success for the future.😀
Awesome work again Andy. The paintjob highlights really brought a nice looking tank to life. I regret not buying that kit when I saw it at local hobby shop now. If I ever do anything outside WW2 this will be it.
I am a huge fan of your videos. I just built my first tank and relied heavily on your suggestions. What I would like to see, just a friendly suggestion, is some videos on specific techniques; chipping, mud, color choices, airbrushing, etc. I find myself scrubbing through different videos to find how to do that dust coat again?? Thanks again for putting these together!
In India it is not easy to get your hands on kits like this. Got my friend to get one from USA Just finish making the same model thanx for your video and tips it helped
this and hand made boats are the channels that default loop on the TV at our house and all my roommates get hypnotized and forget what they are doing when they start watching
Man, that's one sexy looking AFV! Almost looks like something out of Warhammer 40K! It would be fantastic if someone did one of these in 1/48 scale! Thanks for the video, and congrats on 20K!!
You deserve more subs Andy. These awesome, detailed build through vids have genuinely helped me and I can say for sure that my models have shown improvement as a result of your tips!
I just re-watched your video of the Merkava 2D and it is a great tutorial of building, painting and weathering. Thanks once again, Andy. Looking forward to seeing ur next build video.
Nicely done as always, Andy. I've built one of the Merk IIIs back five or six years ago. I scratch-built all the ball and chain armor. Talk about a pain in the buttocks!!
you just always...always make it look so easy. I wish you would try Mr Cement S...I find it easier to work with than Tamiya, and that is saying a lot because I am a huge Tamiya fan.
OMG really nice to watch how to build and paint this tank :O didnt know that videos like this exist on youtube now i could watch them for hours , thanks :D
nice build Andy and congratz on 20grr!!!!!!....on your store web sight will you ever list all your inventory? my in laws are snow birds and I would like to send them with a shopping list...I was there this winter and went home with a nice selection from your store
Love the videos. I look forward to every new one you post. Just a comment but I would have loved to see how you did the machine guns. I've enjoyed your techniques and I could use some tips on doing bare metal weapons.
totally different from when i used to put together my WW2 tanks back in the early 70"s Monogram kits for less than $5.00 1/35th scale I had alot of testor paints and mixed my own blend for camo. No spray gun . used clear glue and dirt for the used look
Nice job Andy! Congrats on 2K! Love the behind the scenes videos too!........ i can never get my washes to flow as easily as you do... is there a secret?
Hi Andy, what is your opinion on using gloss coat before applying washes? I'm following your videos while doing my first 35th scale armor Merkava MK.4 I'm gonna do some pin wash now but I'm not sure if gloss coat over my flat is necessary. Thank you!
Well, this is not a modern kit. Its originated from the Tamiya Merkava 1 from 1988. Acadamy added a few things to it, mainly the applique armor. The Academy Merkava 2 hit the markets in 1992. I bought one in 1996. This is actually the same kit, but with different armor panels and side skirts, and a new turret. Latter I don't understand, they can just add different armor plates, cupola and basket to the original, and done. This kit is a step backwards in some ways. The original has photoetched basket floor, white metal chain curtain, vinyl rubber rims for the roadwheels. I don't know what is the fuss about antislip. Not a difficult thing to make yourself. Need some cement, and texture material. I used Humbrol Clearfix for cement, and flour for texture. And a paintbrush to apply it. Simply and easy. Academy is an interesting company. Their kits quality is very varied. And not really dependent on the age of the kit. For example: their 1/72 Phantom IIs are crap, especially the MCP versions. Bad fit, shit decals, and a lot of sinkmarks and any other kind of molding failures. Some call those kits the second best after Hasegawas. I haven't senn the Hasegawa kits so far, but all other 72 Phantom II kits are better, than the Academy. Even the old Monogram is better. My friends convinced me to buy the Academy, because its good. Well, I simply dumped the kit to the trashcan, almost finished. The decals was the last nail in the coffin. In contrast, their old F-6F Hellcat is a much better kit. Just like their Crusaders, which are first released in 2004. The Phantom IIs released in 2015. 11 years of degeneration in quality.
if my father says : how did you paint that? then i say: i got it all from Andy.i love your video's and keep doing this because its beatifal and perfect!;)

Wowwww .... Best model and great work friend!
great build ,I remember in the 70s model tanks came with electric motor and gearbox that use to run on 2 double A batteries ,miss those models

tgtgtufeu tgtgt Ja sorry... Mir ist das Wort entfallen...
The idea behind the poly caps is the fact that the kit can be motorized!!!!!!!
Tnx~ You are my pramodel teacher
Thank you
картинка на HD 1080 is COOL!
Nicely done as always, Andy. I've built one of the Merk IIIs back five or six years ago. I scratch-built all the ball and chain armor. Talk about a pain in the buttocks!!
yeah I thought about upgrading it but your right so much work
congrats on the 20k. I've built this one and enjoyed it very much. shame the anti slip texture isn't included , but for the price you can't go wrong
Thank you for watching
you just always...always make it look so easy. I wish you would try Mr Cement S...I find it easier to work with than Tamiya, and that is saying a lot because I am a huge Tamiya fan.

As a recommendation I would suggest building the Tamiya T34-85
Nice build.
Congrats, but you have a talent that goes well for your videos!!! Hope it translates to cash to keep you going!!!!
Good job Andy looks great :) how about building a Churchill?
Thank you , I might soon
Wow 👍 👏 👌
a good build and i like the pre wethering but i think he went a bit over the top with the aftermarket goods no names no pack drill
very very good...
wow, good job and thank u
Congrats on The upgrade. Thanks for the videos! I wish I had some more free time to make you an upgraded intro to go with that4k
未来的な感じ👍
I was expecting you to make the anti slip coating on it with some plaster and sand but overall it looks real good
Yes, I'm sure that was actual speed when you were putting the shadow layer down...😁😁😁
great video! maybe next the jagtpanther?
Could you do a Leopard 1, Challenger 2, T-90, T14, M60A3?
I second the M60A3 and the Leopard 1. 60s-80s armor always is fascinating!
Oh by the way can you also make a 1/1 replica of the F117 that got shot down over serbia?
Thats basically you, thats a lot
totally different from when i used to put together my WW2 tanks back in the early 70"s Monogram kits for less than $5.00 1/35th scale

Nice job Andy! Congrats on 2K! Love the behind the scenes videos too!........ i can never get my washes to flow as easily as you do... is there a secret?
Thank you Terry
Merkava's look like they came right from the Halo universe.
Hello,
Spectacular job as always. By the time you have scheduled the work of a Buffalo MPCV 6xx w / Slat Armor?
Thank you
Brand Spanking new Video.............. :O)
Keep up the good work!!!!
thank you for watching
Я тоже эту модельку собирал. Прикольная. На моем канале есть видеообзор ее, "доукомплектовал" ее цепью на передних кронштейнах
Great video. Amazing looking tank, kinda want one now. Congrats on 20k subs

мне нравиться Ваша музыка
When you did the tracks with some kind of dark metal but could you use the inner of a pencil crush it and use it or doesnt that work?
Well, this is not a modern kit. Its originated from the Tamiya Merkava 1 from 1988. Acadamy added a few things to it, mainly the applique armor. The Academy Merkava 2 hit the markets in 1992. love all your work andy ,learning a lot , where did you get those tweezer's mate .
Have you applied a base coat - primer? Did you use paint right away?
if my father says : how did you paint that? then i say: i got it all from Andy.i love your video's and keep doing this because its beatifal and perfect!;)
no matter how fine the engineering, the lack of anti slip on a relatively modern kit is a real turn off honestly.
Andy can't quite see but does that Acadamy Merkava have anti slip coating only it should be course texture on that tank.
Another beautiful build Andy! Keep them coming! Do you know by chance if there is a decent Hellcat 1/35 on the market apart from Academy and AFV?
no that's it for now
