    OK guys stick with me on this one, this is a long video and there’s a lot of information here, and I am bouncing back-and-forth between a lot of info here. I am trying to fit as much information as possible in a short, well, almost short, video as possibly manageable.
    if you stuck around to the end of the video, and you have questions, please ask, I’ll be more than happy to answer every single one of you, as I always do.
    thank you so much for watching. I appreciate all your support, and make sure to give support to all my fellow technicians that do their hard work and show what they show.
    Love you guys. Take care 🤙

    I can tell you as ex-cabin crew, you engineers were our heroes.
    They never get seen by pax. They assume it's all done by magic. They never think of the guys and girls behind the scenes unless they see them applying speed tape and then it gets TH-cam'd!!
    I was always the bain of the engineers lives putting the smallest cabin defect in the tech log. The number of sidewall florescent tubes those guys changed and dodgy seat recliners on F100s, BAe146s, F50s, A320s, B757s, DC-10s was unbelievable.
    From an ex-flyer, and on behalf of all those pax that think it's all done by elves in the middle of the night, thank you 😁

    I have a question. You say that you guys in Maintenance do waaaaaayyy more than toilets and tires, well.... is it your department who cleans up big messes in the pax seating area, or do they have specialist teams who deal with that? The reason I ask, is that recently on a (redacted) flight, some pax found their seats covered in a previous flight's pax vomit. There are those who will say that any flight on (redacted) is the vomit comet, but seriously, it's not that often. Anyways, 2 women sort of declined to sit in un-cleaned vomit-drenched seats, and ended up being "kicked off the flight", (not making this up) for refusing to sit down and strap in. Other nearby pax vouched for the women, as the staff declared them rude, abusive, and no longer wanted on that plane, when in fact the women were nothing more than politely requesting that the seats be properly cleaned or they be seated elsewhere. Typical (redacted) BS, their flight attendants NEVER lie or anything.
    So, yeah. Whose job is it to cleanup the upchuck when that sort of thing happens? Never mind that it got missed on this airline (seems about right for them), I just wonder if you get stuck with nasty cleanups such as this.

    • @StigAviation
      @StigAviation  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is an excellent question… ok there’s 2 parts to this.. if the mess is manageable to get cleaned and sanitized then the cleaning crew will do that. That’s their responsibility to clean the aircraft after every flight. NOW… if the seat is soiled beyond cleaning capabilities that’s when maintenance steps in. This is because now we have to remove and replace soiled and contaminated components from the aircraft. Example would be a brand new seat cover and cushion, new seat belts, new electronics (if they were contaminated and/or damaged by said fluids). Does that help with your question. And yes the passengers were in the right. They should have not been made to sit in a contaminated/biohazards area. Cabin crew should have known better. Said airline should take accountability for such actions and correct them immediately even if it causes a delay. My primary concern is always safety of the aircraft and my souls on board as a maintenance technician.

    Does the drains and black and gray tanks get sterilized ?

    • @StigAviation
      @StigAviation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes they do, the potable water system gets sterilized all the time.. check my video on that... the waste tank also gets a flushing on EVERY flight with disinfectants and cleaning agents via the LAV truck ( that's the blue juice)
