I found a pair of the large metal II last night in a pile of things marked free on the side of the road and everything you mentioned is there including the number on the ear paddle and minus some slight tarnishing and light scratches on the lenses they are in great shape...the nose bridge isn't even bent

What about the B L etching in the glass? I have two 62mm Aviator pairs and they both have this feature along with all the other markings you mentioned.

So I recently came across a pair of B&L Outdoorsman Aviators, but the inscription on the underneath of the bridge is a bit different. The script is “B&L 58-14 USA” instead of “B&L USA 58-18”. Are these fake? Or are the outdoorsman different than the standard aviator? Thanks. Any advice from anyone who owns a pair of Outdoorsman would help!

Hi, I just bought this Vintage Ray Ban Outdoorsman W0744 for $25 at my local Goodwill Store. I'm wondering if its real. It has the following markings: BL on itching on both lens BL on the nose bridge Top side reads "B&L Ray Ban U.S.A." Bottom side reads "B&L 62[]14 U.S.A." There are no markings on the ear pieces or anywhere else on the glasses with the exception of the Ray Ban logo on the lense It seems to be very good quality and weight. I have seen same model withe a model number on the end of the nose piece but mine doesn't have a model number. Everything else seems to be correct. This is what has me wondering weather it is authentic. Please help!
A further update to this, I was scammed again by a different seller, this time from Italy. Greenflamingovintage. First of all he said the wayfarer max i bought in the shop was stolen from the store, webstore? He looked all around for them, and couldn't find them. We agreed on a pair of pink rose changeable with the bullet hole bridge. I am yet to see evidence of postage or any tracking number. It's off to the credit card company for a chargeback again. That's the end of my etsy life. Twice in a row is not chance. If I see the rose changeable outdoor shooter it will be a miracle.
I have a pair of wrap-around Aviators that are from the early 80s, I think. They have the Ray-Ban logo in white on the right lens, so how can I tell when they were made between 1982 and 1998? The top of the brow bar says B&L RAY-BAN USA and the bottom says B&L RAY-BAN 58[]14. I can send pics if it would help you. Thanks!
You cant is the simple answer. All you can work out is the time period. Which is 82 to 99. Dependent on the look of the etch on the lenses could also help identify time period
I got scammed recently on etsy and they are going back. It was a ray ban outdoorsman bullet hole shooter with NEW temples from luxotica installed on there. The made in italy gave it away. I'm not naming names. He is a vendor on etsy with many mint condition b&l with case and paperwork
William Nunn omg I need to know who the seller is!!! I was about to buy some mint condition Shooters on Etsy from a seller that somewhat matches that description. Risk it?
@@emocowboy96 he has some outdoorsman ii the general 1937-1987 in black with rb50 lens for $1100 all the models are mysteriously in mint or new condition with instruction papers and boxes. If its this seller i would not based on what just occurred.

William Nunn do you think he has a manufacturer that produces all of these fake B&L Ray Bans? There’s no way some random guy can have a complete inventory of NOS B&L. No way. So how does he do it? I was even going to buy a pair of 62mm B&L NOS Lenses for my Aviators and they look legit.

Ahhh damn ..... I found a nice pair of Black Frame 3025 Ray Bans, nice condition, But Printed on the brow bar it says B&L RAY-BAN Italy ..... fakes then

what you did not tell people was the b & l on the lens. yours did not have that and that is another way to tell fake lenses !!!! no B & L =fake on original aviators ...
phill downes im afraid youre incorrect. If BL is not etched it just means it was produced before a certain date. Check my other videos out for more info.

1/30 10k GO means 10 carat gold overlay. So theres 1/30 of 10k gold in the frame.

Both videos were very helpful. My glass passed all the tests. But still not 100% of the BL on the nose guard. Is is supposed to be gold?
