White = 0.5kg - กีฬา
After watching Clarence bomb out I thought this: He is one of few from a non-Eastern European weightlifting powerhouse country, and was self trained for the majority of his life. He's the biggest badass there.
Clarence Kennedy Heart Attack
Snatch 2: if you can't recover, throw it at the judges!
Clarence,
I'm from the U.S. and am (like many over here) extremely inspired and motivated by what you do. I understand your goal to lift independent of support, but just know that if you included a donation button on your page - you will have the financial backing of the world behind you.
Don't let this get you down, Clarence! You WILL return stronger!
That was completely right 🙃
and then he did
Killed it at 2013 Euro Juniors
You should be so incredibly proud of all you have accomplished. Don't let one competition get you down. Injured you're better than most, next year healthy, you're going to do amazing things. Keep your head up man.
Why is there a dolphin lifting weights in the background?
Who thinks a fuckin dolphin is a good symbol for weightlifting?
Felt sorry for Clarence, fuck man :-(
Great seeing him bomb.
+Organic Supercomputer you're such a tough internet guy. your mom buy you your Coachella tix yet?
JMBBproject now he add 50 kg to his lifts so don't feel sad
Clarence, your lifts motivate me. Your videos are examples of the potential someone our size has and I wanted to thank you for showing that potential. I've only just begun training o-lifts and I'll do my best to catch up to you. In the meantime, I'll laugh too at the comments the ignorant make. They only think what we do is impossible because of their ignorance. Who cares anyway, the only thing that matters is besting yourself. Those others are already losing to themselves and their lack of info
Knowing your attitude, I am sure you will come back even stronger :).
You go Clarence!
did you hurt the left shoulder at the last snatch and is that the reason you failed all jerks?
He's still my phuckin icon. keep it up Clarence youve actually inspired me to clean up my form, or at least try to and do a hell of a lot more squatting. its definitely helped my ability as an athlete. so I thank you.
Holy fuck that knee bend at 0:30 I'm gonna have nightmares about it
Great effort man, good to watch you compete in a european level. Those cleans in the end were great. More to come in the future. No worries, that's the nature of the sport. keep it strong
Amazing job man!!!!! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work :)
06:04
Allahu-akbar?
06:05 *BOooOM!!!*

Damn looking at where clarence at now in the present, all I can say is that he really has come a long way, such a badass.
great videos from the meet. your cleans looked very easy.
Clarence, could you write an article explaining what you've gained from this experience of competing at European Juniors vs. the local meets you participated in Ireland? I see a bright future ahead of you, keep training hard.
Wow tough day. Excellent effort.
Very well done on your performance Clarence. The last guy in the snatch stood up with those weights so fast, he must have some serious leg strength.
did you start blacking out on your last clean and jerk?
perhaps this is why Clarence is taking so long to compete again, he performed quite poorly towards the end and is now one of the strongest power lifters AND olympic lifters in his weight class in the world
i dont really understand what you meant, why does that make clarence take longer to compete again?
he probably ment that clarence will win then when he finnaly decides to compete again
how exactly he is one of the strongest PL on his weight class?
are you on drugs?
Hard to call him a world class powerlifter when he literally never practices the powerlifting squat. 302 for his weightclass is probably the world record for an ATG fully raw pause squat but I don't really see a federation fucking measuring for that.
He said he quit weightlifting because he hurt himself because he exercised all day every day and then after recovering he realized you don't have to do that, just train smarter. Good for him I say, top bloke.
Clarence, let this experience to further that burning fire to be whatever you want to be, and not falter in your efforts to achieve anything you want to be.
chin up man, something was off that day for you thats for sure. maybe it was too hard of a cut. you've never cut for a comp. before. maybe its an injury. or maybe a bad night sleep. I believe in you man, you're an olympic medalist thats for sure.
what a great competition!
the blonde kid was very corteous
+voutespancar very homosexual you mean? nothing wrong with that he just is
Adam Anus lmfao
Clarence! How is your shoulder feeling now-a-days? I hope you are training as hard as ever!
Oh man Clarence!!! What happened during the C & J!? I mean the cleans were frikken unbelievably smooth. But why the rush on the jerk? To my it looks like u rushed to fast into it. You didnt seem ready. I might be missing something, but do you have an injury?
Agree with what you said 100%. Even if you gained an inch or 1kg, you know YOU did and that YOU deserve it. :)
awesome vids man... subbed
Quick question, most of the others seemed to be wearing belts while it looks like you didn't is there any reason for this?
Good fight clarence! Really big openers compared to what we're used to seeing from you. Don't know if that's because people are lifting simular weights to yours allowing for bigger rest intervals or that the contest got the best of you. A lot of people missed weights in the C&J.
Not to be an internet wiseguy but I think next time you'll be more mentally prepared. Looking forward to future videos of you competing!
Good point, in anything you do, if you have a ambitious goal, there will certainly be alot more days with headaches. That's the nature of the game, you grind for months just to get an inch (I'm a thrower) or 1 kg, but its worth the glory just for that moment. No glory without struggle.

Hey Clarence, I was wondering if you knew where I could watch European Junior Weightlifting Championships 56kg A Class video?
Were you still using creatine before you competed or did you stop it to cut down the water weight?
Please upload more videos!
Very strong lifts, regardless of the failures on the jerk part. Did you injure your shoulder (saw you reach for your shoulder after your final snatch)?
Inspirational stuff!
Dude. I'm sorry about your shoulder. It takes balls to walk out there and get that last clean though. Awesome, awesome work.
Do you keep the intensity high prior to comp?
:o is that viktor getts at 1:43?
"without any support"
-- What do you mean by that, specifically? I'm simply curious :p
Hey Clarence, just wondering how much is your strict shoulder press ?
I know you've probably said this somewhere else, but how tall are you? Way to push through the injury there, better luck next time.
Hey clarence I've just started Olympic lifting, and I was wandering do your knees click at all. Mine seem to click, albeit without any pain. i'm not sure if I'm just paranoid or something.
Wait did Clarence move to Poland to train or did he just go to that competition in it?
Clarence, How many days of rest before a competition for you?
Did the flash-photography bother you at all?
Those people were flash-photographing the hell out of your lifts
That's a noble thought. And I respect that. Still it costs money to lift with the best, and that money somehow needs to be aquired.
Bad luck, did anything specific go wrong on the day?
How was your trip to Israel?
Why do you throw up the bar so high when you finish the clean? Looks very painfull and energy consuming.
Is there less support in Ireland then there is in the US? Cause sadly, many Americans don't even know what olympic weightlifing is.
Shoosh man, he bombed out. Don't be so disrespectful. Well done big C!
Comps that's not perfect are good. Coping with setbacks is what breaks or makes a lifter. Clarence will not give up.
Ok, thank you for your response :)
clarence you still lifting?
Did you injury your left shoulder?
bad luck day man
you got a lot mental pressure
relax. take it more easy next time
1° thing is to have fun :)
weren't there two movements? im a complete nube when it comes to power lifting.
WE CLARENCE NOW
Do any of these lifters have a TH-cam channel?
Damn those cleans went up fast
No new videos? :'(
So they had the European championships in Israel, in Asia?
Sergio Scott Is why is Israeli football in Uefa? Same logic applies idiot
how did u place?
hey clarence, just wondering how tall are you?
thanks man
How did you come in third place if you missed all three jerks?
You're reading the results wrong. Clarence's number was 3.
As far as I know the UK has a going Olympic Weightlifting program. It could be more convenient for you to train there. I guess they would welcome you with open arms.
No, I didn't have fun lifting 263kg. In fact I felt pretty much like shit. I've been doing a lot of frequent high intensity training the last months, and that's not fun at all. But I've decided I want to be strong, and then this is what I do. On the stage, it's not a moment of fun, it's more a moment of work. But true, if you're too tense, it may affect the outcome, so you need to be relaxed and confident. Fun is watching a comedy, lifting is fun maybe less than 30% of the time. :)
Did you not see that he hurt his shoulder on the snatch?
what's powerlifting got to do with anything?
why did he tell his coach to shut up after the last clean?
If you want to be really strong, fun doesn't have too much part of it in the hard training periods. You dread even getting out of bed.
Trying to kill the judges on the snatch lol. Great work though, impressive lifts
Video ends at 11:52
Look at his infobox on his channel :) 178 if I recall
nevermind lift with the best clarence. you can and WILL beat the best and be the best sooner or later
man. NO fun = NO results :D
look Zygimantas Stanulis
you can see the fire of passion for this sport in his eyes every single lift
he could kill someone if you had tried to stop him lifting!!!
Clarence needs this!!!
needs to be CONFIDENT
needs to be AGGRESSIVE
and needs to have FUN on the stage WITH all the public!!!
this is the higher gear of a champion :)
6:14 Awesome power jerk
Your legs are strong to do more, you are just not angry enough
Seemed to work for the Lithuanian squad.
That basically sums up what it is in America too.
You seems to be nervous ! Not a big deal Clarence.
3 is his number, not his rank, look to the right he didn't qualify because he bombed out on C&J.
Well the misses in the jerk sucks, but still look pretty strong.
What do to make money? Do you have a job? Or do you live with your parents and just stick with tryint to making it in lifting? Im aware you probably get money from youtube as well.
hero
It is far worse. There are only 15 Olympic weightlifting clubs across the entire island of Ireland. No one knows anything about it.
:( I want to be weighlifter but I have no gym to work in, I have no place to train it so I do 500 squat every second day, some push ups, pull ups, I hope one day I can train weightlifting :O
Work and save up money get a bar and some weight for a start
Save money just for a bar and plates. You can buy them maybe for 200 bucks. Good thing is, for weightlifting you don't need a rack. Just a sturdy floor, a bar and some plates
3:40 Clarence impersonating zoe smith. qt3.14
PM him and offer him 10 bucks, if 10 others did the same, I'm sure he'd write an article. :)
Still mirin.
he mentioned is was ard 80kg
I think he is 5'11
Fuck yeah Clarence!!!!!
sure man. i lift :D
but i am not a pro. you are way stronger than me
i just play powerlifting to build a strong body and to have fun
i saw your channel. nice squats and good weights
but, for example, you cant tell me you didnt have fun lifting those 263kg in the last video
clarence is already strong. i think his body is way stronger than his ''mind''
i can understand you when you mean ''do a lot of boring volume training'' but
ON the STAGE
if you dont have fun
there is a problem... a big problem
You have already proven that Clarence. When will the government realise you have the potential to bring home a medal yet you get no funding. It makes me rage that other sports like tug of war and fencing get a bigger grant than weightlifting does. Cathal is the public contact, does he have any swing in times like this?
how can they all be so strong what is this shit. Clarence an answer would be nice
+ELI V4 Years of training...
Its more technique than raw strenght. No, really. Ive trained alone 5years and 5% of my lifts are tehcnically good, the bar will fly automatically high when its good lift.
Have you seen Ilya Ilyin? 246kg clean and jerk... 105kg weight class XD
