Fiskars is also the oldest (since 1649) company still running in Finland.

Yup, Finland has an insane amount of very significant inventions that are very important in our everyday life. Here are some more borrowing from another comment I posted a while back:
► Linux and MySQL for example, are what most of the internet runs on today. Android phone's AndroidOS is also a Linux system.
    ► Personal reflector for pedestrians
► AIV feed that greatly increases animal feed lifetime and quality
    ► hormonal IUD contraceptive
► maternity clinics, they are with the expecting parents before and after the child is born, to educate the parents and monitor that everything is going fine
► margarine that actually dramatically lowers cholesterol, while normal butter is one of the main reasons for high cholesterol
► free school lunches for students, Finland has been offering free school lunches to elementary school students since 1934. It is extremely equalizing for children no matter how rich or poor their parents are, that all students eat the same food together at the same time. The teachers usually also eat with them.
► the Abloy locks, which are still, as far as I know, the most secure locks in the world. Even world's top lockpickers (like the lockpicking lawyer on YT, great channel btw) has a hard time picking even the older models, and has to use a special tool that only he and his associate has access to
► not only did Nokia invent the Nokia phones, but almost all technologies used in mobile phone communications even today originate from Finland. That is why even today, Apple has to pay Nokia patent fees for each sold iPhone that is using their technologies.
The Nokia phones sold today, are btw, not real Nokia phones, but just a Taiwanese company that bought the rights to use Nokia name on their phones (edit: and later bought the rights to many of their Lumia era technologies). Nokia is extremely profitable company even today, but they gave up on making phones a long time ago (when they were able to dump it to Microsoft), and are mostly focusing on networking technologies (the technology that phones use to communicate) and licensing deals
► Winter tires used in cars
► a massive amount of military, paper and forestry technologies. Like the famous Molotov cocktail
► KONE, one of the world's biggest elevator manufacturer's is from Finland
► Fiskars scissors, those amazingly durable scissors with orange plastic handles that are form-fitted to your hand, and which never seem to grow dull or get loose
► IRC, internet relay chat was the first massive chat program before the internet and social media
► First graphic internet web browser
    and a lot more.
Not inventions per say, but cool facts related to this video's topic
► the Moomin troll characters that are extremely popular in many countries (especially in Finland and Japan) are from Finland
► Finland was the first European nation to allow women to vote (right from the foundation of Finland). Finland has had a Female President, female Prime ministers and during the last government, all the top ministers were young women
► The Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit and the Silmarillion by J.J.R. Tolkien was heavily inspired and based on the Finnish national epoch Kalevala (funnily enough, my ancestor was the one who started that project National epoch project, even though it was a different person who finished it and is mostly credited for it). Gandalf is basically Väinämöinen, one of the main characters of Kalevala.
Also, the elven language in Lord of the Rings is based on the Finnish language. This is because Tolkien was a language professor, and he became obsessed with the Finnish language and its stories and poetry, that was so totally different than anything else in Europe (original Finnish culture is not from Europe, but from ancient Asia)
ps. WildwoodVagabond, the lady in this video has just recently started to make new content after a long hiatus, since a lot happened to her in the last few years, she recently made a video about it.

That margarine thing is just total bullshit. Butter is better if you use it correctly.

Molotov's cocktails were used in Spanish civil war during 30's but it was here in Finland where it got its name after Soviet foreign minister Molotov.
Great list. took a while to get my mind around it

Finns have a long history with not only inventions but also perfecting the existing ones. We have lots of "hidden" history that is not teached even to us Finns, I've been very shocked to find out so much amazing things. Like our horsebreeding, even the Pope mentions it in his letter centuries ago! Our own horsebreed, suomenhevonen, is still one of the most powerful and resilient breeds existing. It can pull twice its weight, can sustain itself on very modest feed, very healthy in general. Or how about our chickens? Some have lived to be over 20 years old, like wth??😂 Also bred to be independent and finding their food without help, surviving even some winter temperatures. Oh and about the cows....😉😁

Rachael is a nice woman. I have followed her in TH-cam for years. She is American and living in Texas, but she lived in Finland for several years in the past.

In my opinion, there was a Finnish invention that was missing from the list, even on a world scale, which was and still is of great importance in e.g. dairy farming even today. The invention is AIV feed preservative, invented by Artturi IIvari Virtanen already in 1928. In 1945, Artturi Ilmari Virtase was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the development of the AIV fodder preservation method.
