    Not everyone who is disabled walks with a cane or has a wheelchair. Invisible illnesses exist too and can make it difficult to move much.

    About time I started doing this .... people think its like you've won the lottery to use these spaces ... OK then, you give me one of your good legs for the one I don't have any more and I'll gladly go park where ever!

    And ZERO enforcement by the local council.

    "Do people take advantage of these parking spaces?"
    "Heap heaps.."
    You can become disabled if I catch you doing this shite.

    too many seniors have these permits when they really shouldn't they system needs a major reform nation wide change the criteria introduce senior parking with there own permits

    IF they were smart, they SHOULD have called Moreland Council and got the cars towed, then waited for the owners to return!

    I don’t blame the guy delivering cargo. If there’s no dedicated zone for delivery he’s going to have to carry potentially heavy cargo across the car park and will probably struggle as much as some disabled people if not more than some

    In the UK the permit has to have the holders photo on the back and by law they must show it to an enforcement officer on request if like the gentleman uses his daughters permit without them it will be confiscated and a £1000 fine, there are healthy people all over that abuse disabled bays unlike you it's not an offence yet

    A thousand years ago society would have put disabled and deformed people into the Forrest to be eaten by wolves. We have come a long way to treat disabled people in a respectful way.

  • @rugmanal
    @rugmanal 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    There is a simple solution. Towing should be mandatory if people park in a disabled spot when not disabled.

    I now have a baton in my wheelchair and when I catch someone that isn't disabled isn't hit them on the side of the knee so they can't walk. all I say to them is at least you can feel your legs. the dings are the worst ones

    It's exactly the same here in the UK as in Australia Blue Badges are for the disabled person only NOT for anyone else doing errands on their behalf. Equally the disabled person should NOT use their badge to park anywhere there is a concession if someone who is not disabled is in the car and they are going to conduct that disabled person's business, i.e. pop in the shop for milk or pick up 'their' medication etc etc. However in this country no- one in authority gives a hoot about the abuse it's either not their job or always someone else's

      Having caught a female parked in a disabled bay and asked her to move, she claimed she was not parked as her engine was running. So I blocked her in and refused to move. She then called someone with a badge who parked over the road and then called the police. The female disappeared and the police would not listen to what they had done.

    My thought;
    Try a new citizen volunteer program, this will earn much
    more than increasing the fine
    Should be a program to have volunteers taking a class to be
    able to give out parking tickets anywhere they see illegal parking. Most police
    do not seem to make much of an effort to make time to check it!
    I see many illegal handicap parking in supermarket stores,
    malls, downtown street parking.
    Imagine if all States, city or
    county's offering a volunteer training program giving one the power to write
    tickets as a police officer when one can plainly see illegal disable parking!
    That would be a program that would highly generate income for each State and
    cut the abuse of disable parking.
