It can last outside the freezer for 3-5 days. But when stored in the freezer it can stay upto 3 months. Also note that cakes that do stay in the freezer tends to retain it's moisture plus the cakes in the freezer becomes more fresh.

Probably the filing is much. Too much of everything can cause some things to go wrong. Also if your cakes is too moist and fillings too is much it can cause it to happen. So watch closely. Or you can freeze your cakes a bit.
