As an Asian American 90s kid growing up, I had soooo many of these straw and paper lucky straws made in many jars. I could never make the triangle version, I remember admiring kids that could lol
Thank you for the tutorial!! I have made a cute pendant in two colours (strip - 2cm width), and instead of protecting the paper with Con-Tact (i don't know if there is an equivalent in Spain, but I thought about the protective adhesives for textbooks and they don't have the best quality), I used Mod-Podge to varnish and seal it, just the same as I do with paper beads. I hope it works well.

If anything these seem easier to do that the original oragami stars in my opinion xD lol these are adorable!! :) I'm making some and gluing them to my ceiling or even hang them there they're adorable!!
awesome design i made one a while ago but it took a long time to make. i wish jo talked it would make his videos more interesting and he would get more subscribers

glad you find this easy- tried it and it looked like s*#t! used 3cm strips but it came out significantly smaller- maybe because i was using regular copy paper and not A4 which is longer. i don' even want to think about making this out of plastic drinking straws- probably damn near impossible!
This is the first time I've watched your tutorial and I really like the directions; clear and precise. The next time I'll try to follow along. Thanks for uploading. USA Liked

Joe, I saw a video on "how to make a palm hat" that uses the same technique of weaving as the straw star. Could you make a palm hat this way? Would be pretty cool. Not sure how to get it started though. Any ideas?

yes, it looks awesome with straws
you could, for example, start with two strips of same color, then add two more strips of a different color and two more of a third color
This is one of the the best star you can find a tutorial of. Nicely done.
MARAVILLOSO YO LO ACABO DE HACER, AUNQUE NO ME QUEDO TAN BIEN SUPONGO QUE CON PRACTICA LO HARE GRACIAS NO DEJES DE TRABAJAR ORIGAMI.
