Let me try. Let's say we have: *L= length of the paper* *R= random length where you bring the left corner on the first fold* ● Every time we do the sequence of three pinch marks, we are dividing by 8 (half of half of half) On the first set of three pinch marks, we're dividing the random length R by 8. So we have: R/8 ● Then divide the remaining paper (right part) by 8: (L -R/8) /8 = (8L-R)/64 ● Divide the left part by 8: (L -((8L-R)/64)) /8 = (56L+R)/512 ● Divide the right part by 8: (L -(56L+R)/512) /8 = (456L+R)/4096 =0,111328125*L + R/4096 Note that R becomes irrelevant because we're dividing it by 4096 The length of paper L is multiplied by 0,111328125, which is a good approximation to 1/9 (0,11111111...)
I love this model and I want to make lots of them! However, I am stuck on the final collapsing part, no matter how many times I watch it. I'm trying to work backwards and see if that helps. I know I'll get it eventually and then I'll wonder how I thought it was hard! Thank you so much for sharing and I agree, the nine sections seem like magic.
hi, i rediscovered your channel today. i used to watch you 10 years ago, when i was about 9 or 10. my favorite video of yours and that i actually completed was the mini eiffel tower. thank you for your videos and hours of fun. i'm glad you still make videos. i might have to pick up origami again!
Are there any principles to Origami figure-making? I make several shapes but I feel like I can be more independent with the way I fold, to create my own pieces, is there a viable way to learn how to?
@@jonakashima Thank you very much. It's a hobby of mine to fold paper and I look foward to becoming better at it. I'll definitely check it out.😁👍 Great video btw!
Awesome, already made one for a friend hehe. I still miss some of the origami with an action/movement, which is what i make and always have been making over the years, that i have been making origami. Btw, i would love to Know where you are buying your paper from, because of all the websites and stores i have bought from, they are always like 10x10,20.. always want Them to be exact like 10x10 so i dont have to Cut the A4 always
Can you show the math behind how you divided a paper into 9 parts using a random point???
Let me try. Let's say we have:
*L= length of the paper*
*R= random length where you bring the left corner on the first fold*
● Every time we do the sequence of three pinch marks, we are dividing by 8 (half of half of half)
On the first set of three pinch marks, we're dividing the random length R by 8. So we have:
R/8
● Then divide the remaining paper (right part) by 8:
(L -R/8) /8
= (8L-R)/64
● Divide the left part by 8:
(L -((8L-R)/64)) /8
= (56L+R)/512
● Divide the right part by 8:
(L -(56L+R)/512) /8
= (456L+R)/4096
=0,111328125*L + R/4096
Note that R becomes irrelevant because we're dividing it by 4096
The length of paper L is multiplied by 0,111328125, which is a good approximation to 1/9 (0,11111111...)
@@jonakashima oh my i need to check this out, this should have took a lot of time, i appreciate it ,THANK YOU
@@jonakashima you know it's a very big calculation! Thanks for explaination.
Hei Jo Nakashima! Kenapa tak benar cakap!

Mr. nakashima I have been watching your origami since I was little and have been doing it for five years. Thank you for always being an example to me.
I've been doing origami for 4-5 years, and you alone, are one of my favorites. Thank you.

This looks good🔥🔥🔥💯...can't wait to try it out
wow i have no idea how you got 9 even parts from folding to a random point, that takes some complicated calculations. nice job!
Check the pinned comment's reply, just posted the explanation about this!
I'm still mesmerized by the 9 equal parts like hOW DOES THAT WORK????

Great.
Cool
At first I thought it was an April fools video, because I was folding reference marks for so long!
I just divided into thirds then divided all of the thirds into thirds
Great ...
