“House of the Dragon” Soundtrack - Ramin Djawadi - violin cover

This hauntingly beautiful theme composed by Ramin Djawadi stayed in my head ever since I watched the new series “House of The Dragon”. Although this Tv show didn’t receive the same response as “Game of Thrones” , I feel the Soundtrack is as powerful and as remarkable.
Being a big fan of both of the series I decided to create my own arrangement, which is very different from the original, so please do also listen to the original soundtrack and enjoy Ramin’s gorgeous work.
I recorded all instruments ( Nyckelharpa, Double Bass, Violin) in my home studio with my SE electronics RN17microphones
Used my Anubis Merging Interface
My violin strings are by Larsen Strings
And last but not least, my violin is an Original
G.P.Maggini from the year 1610
The gorgeous outfit I wore is a creation by Rettl

It's often difficult to reimagine a piece while paying honor to the original. Most of the time, the end result is either so watered down that it feels hollow or you get a performance that feels very karaoke in nature. This version is an absolute win. She really expounded on the haunting emotions this piece evokes.
Side note: the majority of people tend to look at me strangely for nerding out about composers and the scores of various movies and shows. Thank you for showing me that I'm not alone.

This version seems even more haunting and appropriate. Something about the deeper tones and the strings of the violin really bring out the tragedy of the soundtrack and its story. A tone that was softer in the show with the piano but so harsh and truthful here. Beautiful piece!!

Your music is stronger, it shows how you can get lost in the fog in nature, which is going to rest before winter. You, Rusanda, are looking for a lost child. And the music emphasizes the tragedy of that situation. You have one role, and then you are a powerful kingdom. And people do not believe, a carriage with people was driving and turned aside and disappeared in the swamps. The man was walking, went to such places where there are fogs and bare forests, got lost, lost his way and got lost, he still hasn't returned home. You proudly tell people that you are the authority here and know everything and warn them to behave well because that awaits you. You show the ring that nature gave you for the title of master of forests, fields, mountains and people. And the music keeps the pace of the rhythm of tension and fear. Everything is dynamic. People here are servants working for You. This is how Your law should be. Clothes symbolize that period of cold from nature, and fear of you, mistress of the world. You yourself are a beautiful woman in the heyday of power, and you emphasize that such power is not invented but by people like you. But playing the violin, you, Rusanda, tell the story with music like a storyteller of that time. Good!

Really lovely tone at the beginning! Especially omitting vibrato, and the almost flautando but still rich sound. And very nice choice to wait on the vibrato. Excellent!
