  • Hey everyone, this weekend I stayed at the newly-opened JAL City Bangkok hotel, in Thonglor.
This hotel used to be the Hotel Verve, and had been planned for a 2022 opening/switch-over, which was delayed due to the pandemic.
It's located right beside the Nikko Hotel, and is about a 4-min. walk from the BTS Thong Lo station.
Super convenient location, great facilities, and ideal for a long stay.
    Great prices also!

Gym equipment is impressive. Breakfast area has low ceiling which looks slightly confined. But food is oishisou.

Microwave in the room is a definitely dealbreaker. If someone cater to people who dont care about food quality then you can bet they dont care about other qualities as well. This is the reason why i could not get a suite in JW Marriot when i was in Bangkok in Easter 2023. Theres so many nice hotels, having the kitchen of an alcoholic, divorced and ex convict Joe Sixpack in the room seems unnecessary.

I think every hotel caters to different needs, and this one is definitely not the “luxury” hotel that you compare to.
This particular room is meant for long-term stays, and if I had to stay at a hotel for 2 weeks, I’d appreciate having a microwave and a bigger fridge. 😊

@@TravelCoffeeAndyWell, kets see what Gordon Ramsey says about MW ovens, just to mention one. Theres nothing to use an MW for, then theres no excuse to have one, ever. Pastry in MW = destroyed, Meat in MW = destroyed, Fish in MW = dont even think about it. When are you using the thing, when is it acceptable, what kind of food can possibly benefit from an MW? Im a great admirer of the Japanese cooking by temperature control, thats why i strived to improve my skills on the gas stove when i stayed in Philippines for a total of 2 decades. If you get edible food out of an MW, dont tell me - tell any Japanese chef. This isnt just my opinion but the opinion of lots of famous chefs, tell them why MW is great. Me, i only need to put a cup of coffee in the MW and the burnt taste tells me its not good for anything at all. Famous chefs backing my stance and in full agreement with me is only an affirmation.
