  • On this one I will attempt to pattern my Benelli sbe 3. I will check the choke tube configuration to create the best pattern possible. Increasing accuracy.

I see that at this point and time you have some different chokes for your SBE. Did any of the chokes seem to improve the high shooting? Which one seems to give the best pattern? From what I can see the Muller has given you the best results but I just want to hear your thoughts.

That’s a great question actually. So, the high shooting have 2 aspects to it. One with the sbe3 you have to float the target. Meaning, you have to point little lower that the center mass of what you are intending to shoot. That’s how is the designed, I believe they refer to it as the European style.
The second aspect is that the shotgun from manufacture will come with and standard shim in the butt stock. So, when I did my pattern the first time I was having a pattern more like 80/20. 80% of the shot was above and 20% on the bottom of the target so, I change the shim for the best one down and problem solved. 10 minutes to swap the shim, not difficult at all. The shotgun pared with the muller is sending now 60/40 and is great for me. The muller chokes actually open little farther out than the Carlsons and I do enjoy the distinctive difference between the close, the mid and long range. At least for the way I hunt and shoot. I didn’t seem to have so much of a difference with the cremators between the mid and the long 🤷🏼‍♂️ on the sbe3. That being said my cremators in my super nova are extremely accurate and the constriction on all 3 of them is superb.
Hope this answer the question. You duck hunt as well?
      Thanks for watching 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Not sure not sure if you already found out about your Benelli, but this is from Italy and it’s designed to aim high compared to US aiming. European style duck hunting you aim at the feet of the duck so you see the entire duck. Unlike Us style which is to cover the duck with you barrel.
Benelli allows you to adjust your shims (included) to customize to your shooting style.

Yeah. I did tons of research and figure it out. I did shimmed the gun last week and now we are in business. Yeah It took a minute to get use to the concept of floating the target, but now I’m good. Thank you so much for watching. Yeah it’s a different thing but great shotgun 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I'm so unsure whether to go with the SBE3 or M2 oe Beretta A400.
If Italian guns are made to shoot slightly higher, is this also applicable to the M2 and/or A400?
      Thanks!

@@bulbouspapaya3465 not sure let me do some research and I’ll get back at you. I’m actually going to meet with a friend that does tons of waterfowl hunting and he has tons of Italians shotguns, I’ll pick his brain. That being said, I have seen tons of reviews on the a400 and no one said anything about shooting high. Now, I shimmed the sbe3 with the kit that comes with it and got my point of impact right 40/60 and I’m loving it, but you must float the bird with that one.
I’ll be doing a more in depth video about the patterning and the shim kit and all that good stuff, but that will only give you answer for the sbe3. Let’s figure this out!!!

@@bulbouspapaya3465 ok here it is what I found out. What we are going to talk about pertains more to the point of impact and point of aim.
So, as far as the research said that some European companies design their shotguns with a 60/40 point of impact. Meaning 60% of the shot goes in and above the target and 40%below the target. Some even go as far as 70/30. Now that being said most manufactures now days are including shim kits so you can adjust that as need it.
The issue with the sbe3 was a more in depth situation that was supposed to be fixed. Now, I did shimmed the shotgun and it’s working great, I still have to float the bird regardless because that’s how that shotgun was designed and intended to use. Can you learn how to compensate and not shim the gun? Yes but takes more effort. No issues shooting high reported with the a400 as far as I know. Now In theory that was design to float the bird as well but the point of impact is less tall that the sbe3. Take that with a grain of salt as that information was given by someone that has both, I haven’t shot both side by side to compare.
But as far as reviews and info acquired that is the fact.
In my experience once I shimmed my sbe3 problem solve, now I’m going to do a second pattern video with the shim and different tube and shells and see what happens. On the benelli manual it literally tells you where to put the bid when patterning and is indeed floating the bird.
As far as other brands, apparently they have a mass point of impact meaning you don’t have to float the bird, that’s based on the design and intense percentage of the pattern. Hope this helps. I have to say after the change on the tube and the shim it was super easy to get used to floating the bird and now I’m doing way better. If anyone has more info please contribute here so we can all learn a thing or 2. Thank you brother and let me know what you fund out.
