Glad you actually checked out Tarja, many Nightwish fans kinda act like Tarja died and everything that she did wasn't any good. Almost all of the original Nightwish songs I prefer Tarja because of how she plays the pauses, there is a haunting/chilling sound to her voice, and her control and stage presence. Floor is an awesome singer also and I am not dismissing her in any way.......but Tarja did help found this genre of symphonic metal and deserves to be heard. Tarja is still putting out albums and still doing killer work.
i used to belong to Tarja fans club and met sooo many fans still in great adoration of her marvelous talents and personality

I listen to Nighwish for the start and for me as good as Floor is, this is the original version with Tarja and this is the style that I fall in love with. I underestand that you were shock the first time you listen to this song with Floor but this is the real thing.

I never saw anyone reacting to this. It is really a beautiful song, with a beautiful message. From nightwish with Tarja, there are two dvd's: "From wishes to eternity" and "End of an Era". The performance you just saw is from "End of an Era". The both dvds are amazing.

Big Bill O'Reilly In my opinion the best reactions are the ones that look at all three singers. We all prefer certain singers over the others, but we should not promote exclusivity. Nightwish is a band with a rich history and a genius songwriter and they deserve to be fully appreciated, don’t you think? I get you though. I’d like to see more early Nightwish reactions as well. And I’m tired of people downvoting Tarja vids too. But let’s not stoop to that same mindset.
Big Bill O'Reilly I can see what they’re doing, hence why I called the behavior out. Unless you’re referring to something else that I’m not aware of. And I am aware that Floor doesn’t approve of such things but I don’t think Floor OR Tarja want their fans bickering. They are, after all, friends. :)
Big Bill O'Reilly I never said Tarja fans were doing this anywhere near the level Floor fans have been. I might see one comment here or there but it’s been pretty minimal. What I am saying is we need to be careful lest we get caught up in trying to fight fire with fire.
@Big Bill O'Reilly If you think that Tarja fans almost never say anything negative against Floor then you must be living in a parallel universe or something. Hope live is better there because the world here and now is quite the shitty place. Just look under EVERY major Nightwish video, reaction videos from bigger youtube channels or solo projects/different bands from Anette or Floor and you will find a ton of comments along the lines of "No Tarja, no Nightwish", "Nightwish is dead without Tarja", "Tarja is better/on a different level than Anette/Floor" etc.. Heck even your own comment further down has an underlying negativity wafting off of it. "She's the one the more artistically inclined prefer" aka Tarja is for the people who have a higher standard, while Anette/Floor are for the dumb masses.
And this whole rivalry/negativity between the different fans is not even a thing that started just when Floor joined the band. It already existed back in the day when Floor was still with After Forever. The difference being, that back then Tarja had the bigger plattform, now Floor seems to have the bigger one.
So this argument between the fans will go on forever, which is a shame because Tarja and Floor are friend and wouldn't want this argument to begin with.
All of this of course doesn't condone the shitty behaviour of some part of the Floor fans!
But to pretend there aren't Tarja fans out there, that can be just as shitty or even more shitty (Anette during her time had to endure downright despicable comments from some of the tarja fans), is like living a fairytale life with rose tinted glasses on.

Tarja has been having an amazing solo career in the past 15 years... Her voice is not only high but more than that is dark and really powerfull, and she is very theatrical on stage... I'm so glad you liked it! As a sugestion, I'll leave you 2 links for some Amazing Live performances by Tarja Turunen in recent years:

This is actually original version. Quite loyal to album version and structure...also atmosphere and love song feeling. They later changed this and added a screaming end which is great but not in the kind as original feeling. Tarja sings this close to album style as they did it in 2005.
We all have our preferences and it is totally okay to have them. I prefer Floor for THIS particular song, but I respect what Tarja brought to the band - the very foundation that Floor now stands on, without her, there would be no Nightwish according to Tuomas own words. So immature and pathetic of people who call themselves "fans" of the band to start disliking a video because the reactor is curious and wants to see the past when he has clearly emphasised that he will do the infamous Wacken 2013. That he does Tarja's version is good to build up the anticipation for Floor's version.
I personally think that those who hasn't been in this journey in the very beginning along with Tarja can't really value her the way she should. It's a shame to all Nightwish fans. Be safe
i loved Floor in this version too, but i also loved Tarja for her angelic voice, and glorious blending with Tuomas-arranged orchestral splendor...if the two singers were to exchange places, its doubtful that they would fit well....the trouble is that some of today's NW fans are trying to erase the her indelible footprint on this band's history
@@dariauniverse9166 I've been listening to NW from the very beginning. At that moment Tarja was something new and different and there weren't others bands with that kind of sound. If Tarja had continued with the band, probably they wouldn't have evolved with their sound. That's was the sound of the band at that time, but now there's another singer who is more suitable for the NW music, imo. The genious is Tuomas not Tarja, she was another instrument in the band. Voice is another instrument which the band consist of.
I prefer the current singer more because of her versatility and her performances. She can't sing opera too, when it's needed. That doesn't make me feel ashamed or not value Tarja. It's a matter of taste/preference.
@@marcelofarah8657 well then we agree, because I like Floor aswell. Some however are very agressive about Floor's performances, but IMO Tarja has equally right to be heard. Like I said biggest noice keeps probably those who has beginned with Floor.
@@dariauniverse9166 Yes. This. I love both Floor and Tarja and hate that people feel that there needs to be some sort of competition. Both those singers deserve love and respect from fans the same way they both have love and respect for each other. I feel like some don't really realize or respect the impact Tarja had on the metal community. I'm not taking away from Tuomas in any way(he is a master of composition), I'm simply stating that she as a singer made a large imprint. Just look at all the other major metal singers that she was an inspiration for. It saddens me that people aren't seeing her value. She is a legend.
If you want to ckeck out more Tarja era Nightwish, my favourite live performance is probably Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan. It's a ballad, but really pretty. Else End of all Hope or Kinslayer are really great. Or The Siren and Wishmaster, which I think are best served with Tarja, especially Wishmaster is iconic in the Tarja version.
As for solo Tarja, my favourite would be Anteroom of Death. It kinda is a descent into madness, which I love.

Once more, could you Floorfans stop disliking Tarja videos, just skip them for Christ sake. Some of us old fans still love to see these older songs reacted too. And Tarja fans, you can also stop disliking Floor, because she is awesome, and she is part of Nightwish now. If you can't handle it, just skip her videos. Those idiotic comments like "no Tarja, no Nightwish" are so worn out already. Both of your beloved ladies wouldn't approve your behavior, so where does it leave you?
It's getting out of hand, there are MORE Floor fans commenting on Tarja videos than Tarja fans. Tarja fans leave Floor videos alone, for the most part, can't say the same about this.

It is not the version found on the album 'Music' which it came from, (also an amazing song) but this version had more airplay and is more well known. It is pure dance/club smash!

Well i prefer Nightwish as the music and the composition is the most important. Tarja is a great singer with weak songs comparing to Nightwish songs.

I’m starting to get tired of people downvoting Tarja version reactions and commenting with such vitriol. I understand that I am in the minority in that I hold the 2005 and the Wacken 2013 versions of this song at about equal status. I understand that more people love the Wacken 2013 version a lot more and that is ok. It is amazing. But this vitriol towards the band’s past needs to stop. This reactor chose to react to the 2005 version first. I’m sure he will react to the 2013 soon enough. Virtually every other reactor that did this one first eventually got to the Wacken version anyway, so, like... chill? This is getting ridiculous.
You are right! I wrote this in another video and put it here too. I agree that tastes are totally subjective and is part of what makes us different. The only thing that doesn't convince me is that if someone don't like this video or don't enjoy Tarja's performance, why do they watch it then? There are many bands and musical styles that I don't enjoy and that is why I don't go to their videos to comment on it. I hope nobody is offended by my words but sometimes it's a bit annoying to find this confrontation in every Nightwish video with Tarja that I see.
They hate the fact that 7 years later Floor still has to just sing Tarjas song so people attend to shows... 7 years and no song writen for her that is worth listening to.
Nightwish lost what made them unique, Tarja, now they just a metal band, a good metal band, but thats about it.

@ Have you slept for the last few years or how should one understand your statement? Already the last Nightwish album " Endless Forms Most Beautiful" had nothing to do with Tarja anymore..and the one before (e.g. Imaginerium) didn't have anything to do with Tarja either. And the latest album has already twice nothing to do with Tarja.
Floor not only has to sing old Nightwish songs, but when she does she completes them to perfection.
This song here shows it most clearly. If you look at the two live-versions you can see that the song is still unfinished at this concert, especially at the end. Floor makes it complete. While Tarja left the stage a long time ago and there is a very long instrumental part with some background choir singing, Floor mercilessly goes through to the end and at the end he performs a top performance again.
I also loved Nightwish with Tarja, but sorry..Floor is the next level.
@@TMBMatze Well to be fair, Tarja sang the song the way Tuomas intended it on that time - and people who are full of prejudices will take her leaving the stage as diva-ish behaviour when in fact she just wants to give the guys some solo time to shine, while she also is changing into a new outfit - I don't see what the big deal there is.
And it was actually Anette who started to reinvent the end, Floor followed on her path but just did it better.

she was instructed by Tuomas to leave the stage early to emphasize the orchestral elements...it was a more symphonic arrangement that he had in mind
Tuomas"s arrangement for this performance excluded a vocal ending to emphasize the orchestral elements.. Annete was the first to employ it in her version. after Tarja's departure

@@portishphonic Let’s see since I followed them since 2004 once was the first album I had of theirs. I like Tarja but Floor does is very well sure some changes in it. But those changes are not for the worse. And it doesn’t make it a carbon copy. As far as powerful voice. Floor has it as far as being able to expand the genres Floor has that as well. I never said Tarja is or was bad. I may have said I like Floors better. Again nothing is wrong with that either. Tarja being classically trained so is floor. So I don’t do well with excuses they limit you and make you a failure. Now Annette that is another story she isn’t classically trained even less power and in concert not that good. Recorded she is fine. There is a huge gap between Tarja and floor vs Annette.

You should react to The Birthday Massacre . The best band you've never heard of . An enchanting and magic band that combines 80s nostalgic synth with metal music , dreampop and female beautiful vocals . It takes this dark metal thing ala within temptation with a more lullaby-ish eerie style that really sounds like an actual Alice in Wonderland sweet and beautiful nightmare . Songs to start could be : Diaries , superstition, always , pins and needles , shallow grave or the sky will turn .

Floorminions will be pissed cuz they cant stand when someone reacts to the ORIGINAL version. They even downvote every reaction video that has Tarja on it.
Sir. THAT is Nightwish. And Nightwish was Nightwish because they had something unique that no other band had: TARJA.
They lost that. Still a good band, Floor is an awsome singer, even technically better than Tarja, but music and singing isnt about perfection, it is about feeling, and Nightwish no longer have that, no wonder its been 7 years since she joined the band and nothing special came out of it.
About this particular song, Ghost Love Score is a melancolic drama, a sad song. No one captures that better than Tarja. Floor tries to bring something different and just goes way off what this song represents. High pitch screams, headbanging, nice for a Metallica concert, but not for Ghost Love Score.

Thats your opinion. I been a Nightwish fan since 98 and I think that EFMB is their best album. So see its all a matter of personal taste. You prefer the old stuff thats fine I love some old stuff too. The Riddler is actually one of my favorite songs and thats with Tarja. But they evolved a lot since then both musicaly and lyrics wise. I miss Jukka more than Tarja these days
Floor is a more versatile singer, that's 100 % true. But she is not technically a better singer, not at all. I've said this before, versatility has nothing to do with being a good singer, its how you deliver - and deliver based on whats healthy for your voice and body, and how you are able to sing demanding parts effortlessly and multi-task. And by multi-task I mean sing demanding parts while still moving around and keeping your body in difficult postures without it even showing off based on the sound - and that is Tarja's strongest ability. She will sing very difficult parts even when she transitions from mixed head/classical and chest voice while walking in her high heels, while bending her body posture.
- Floor is a master at transitioning between her singing techniques - but she is not a risk-taker in the same sense as Tarja. She ALWAYS stands still when venturing on anything classical and she tightens her face to the point that her veins are bursting out of her neck. She is a chameleon - granted, she has many singing styles, and her raspy chest voice, her belts and low notes are fantastic. Her operatic singing, however - she has a surprisingly very sloppy classical technique for someone who is trained - whereas someone like Marcela Bovio who does not have recently done two AfterForever songs with Mayan - My Pledge of Allegiance and Monolith of Doubt and she sung them better than Floor. Floor's growl voice is also VERY mediocre. Thus, versatility does not mean anything really unless you're master in all of them, and it is physically impossible to adept the body for that much proficiency in so many styles.

for me, Tarja is actually more proficient singer in that she has a rainbow of vocal flavors, expertly delivered with a very steady dark resonant , flowing tinge...and GLS was intended to be orchestra heavy and have the voice blend in with it
@@Honken55 ...to evolve means to elaborate on a current foundation...the went with an entirely different model after Tarja left, bacause she was the pinnacle of the symphonic model they were at that time...their current model is a blend of everything and thats why Floor gets the flexibility to not strain herself with classical singing which is the most intensive

actually, Tarja has an incredibly powerful voice...in this song, she is merely conforming to the demands Tuomas put on her to blend into the arrangement...take a listen to many others on this concert..you'll be amazed

the arrangement is overpowering her. She is a classically trained singer, normally, if it wasn't for the loud instruments, you should be able to hear her singing without a mike in an opera house.

loved Floor's version too but on the operatic parts she was far weaker than Tarja..while Tarja does not kick in on the robust parts the way Floor does..so they each have their strengths...

although i respect whats shes brought to nightwish, her accent is just too present that its not pleasant to listen to. Shes also a bit sloppy on timing and isn't very precise compared to floor
But come on who just leaves the stage entirely when the song isn't even done? It just blows my mind. She just comes in to sing a few notes and then leaves the rest of the band to end the show?
What a judgemental comment to make, maybe she wants to give the guys some solo time so that the majority of the time is not fully on her? People call her a diva, but what she is doing is the opposite of a diva. Plus she is VERY sick in this concert and is changing into a different outfit right after this song.
If you don't like her voice that's totally fine, but it blows my mind how people find it in them to project prejudices like that based on thin air.
She went to change clothes for the next song, in that concert she does it like 5 times. It was not the closer of the show.

I want not listen to Tarja, because i like the version of Floor Jansen 2013 at wacken.that is the better version of the song.
And we have a million reactions to it already. There are still old fans like me, who wants to see reactions to these older songs as well, so could you just skip these if you're not interested?
Of course the people may listen to the version of Tarja, that is oke with me, but i just skipt this version for myself. And Tarja fans can listen to this version, i dont have any problem with this. I Will listen to Tarja with The Phantom of the Opera, because that version i do like a lot. So what is your problem.
