Yeah anxiety sucks and gets really awkward i was talking to this really cool pizza girl and she was said like how was your day so far, And i said "You're welcome" and we just sat there for like no joke 7 seconds and i was like oh lol i said that wrong word, She said nothing back to that, so i just gave her the money and shut the door really fast i sat there in front of the door after closing it in pure awkwardness for like 5 minutes. the worst part is it wasn't even my pizza. the most awkward moment ever. and i'm 17 and she was my age so a small chance at conversation ended so weird.

Like possibly singing or rapping which Tyler did kind of hint at during a concert. I think Tyler is taking a back seat for a minute and letting Josh hit center stage.
Like the other comments, maybe he is trying to fight it. I also think that would be awesome if the new album is more focused on him because he can fight his anxiety from singing/rapping or just being the “center of attention” even if Tyler is singing. I’m not saying that Josh is insignificant at all, because he’s not, but I feel like he thinks he’s in the background. Sam Sara it's a break. When a band is on hiatus they basically "sort of disappear". No tweets, no new albums,no songs, no interviews... they need a break from everything for a small or bigger period of time...that's it(i hope I explained it well)
What a great interview, I love hearing about all of the little details behind the scenes. Josh is so genuine and it's always refreshing to hear someone talk about what they love. I love how passionate he is about what he does!
Warning: Long comment that no one will probably read all of. Ok can I just say how much I respect and admire Joshua William Dun so much right now? I mean, number one, he does a thirty minute interview _by himself_ without Tyler in a place he's never been and he's just gotten an ESA dog to help his with his anxiety, so this, at least in my mind, is a super brave thing for him to do. Secondly, he knows drums so well. This video, to me, just shows his passion for them in such a raw and real format. He's not putting on here, he's really getting into it. This is something he loves. I hear people joke about eating/sleeping/breathing things, but here, you can see it plainly on his face, hear it clearly in his words, this man is in love with what he does. He fricking learned how they are made and wants to start his own drum company. This shows commitment, and passion, and it is truly admirable. He lives and breathes drumming. Thirdly, combining the first two points, he is gettin over this anxiety to do an interview about something he loves alone. I know from experience how difficult this can be. You know _everything_ about something but then someone sits you down and someone starts asking you detailed questions and you're kinda nervous and your mind draws a blank. But he doesn't miss a beat. He comes through every answer perfectly. He explains it until he's satisfied that he's gotten it across how he wanted it, he doesn't apologise for his answers (which is something I do a lot, "This sounds silly. I'm sorry, that's stupid.) He said that something sounded silly once. Once. That's a bajillion less than I would have. Josh is so brave and so passionate, and everybody talks about Tyler, especially after the Blurryface era, and about how he's so brave to have gotten over his anxieties, and this is true, and great, and really really respectable and admirable. But I think people get caught up in Tyler sometimes and forget that Josh has anxiety too, and he fights a lot of the same battles as Tyler. I'm not being judgemental, not at all. But I think that because Tyler is the frontman and a lot of the focus is on him, that people will kind of overlook Josh sometimes, whether it be interviewers or fans or whatever. You hear, "Tyler's so brave, look at Tyler, fighting Blurryface, winning, singing on stage, writing songs at 17 and 10 years later people are singing them back to him that must be so great and he's so passionate about his songs and they mean so much and what does [song title] mean to Tyler?" Even, "What do Tyler's tattoos mean?" and he does so much of the talking just by nature of his position in the band, and so he gets so much of the attention. But I think some people, I think they just kinda forget Josh, cuz you don't really think too much about the drummer. Hi Ryan, I justed to say that I love your comment. If I could have 'liked' your comment 21,000 times, I would have. I'm so glad that I scrolled down this far to read it. Please don't apologise for writing a lengthy comment, because I think that it's great. I agree with everything that you said. Like you, I am really proud of Josh. I am so proud of him for doing that solo interview with Bryan Elliott of Behind The Brand earlier this year, and now this one. That is at least two solo interviews that he has done this year. I am so feeling so proud that he been able to speak so naturally in these interviews, considering his anxiety and all. Even though Tyler may receive more attention than Josh, I think that Josh receives more attention compared to drummers in other bands. This is not only because there are only two band members in TOP, but also because Josh is really showcased in live shows. For example, the 'Ride' island, Josh doing a drum battle with a projected version of himself, and running in the hamster ball (at least, in my concert he was in the ball). TOP does things that other bands do not do, and they do them so well. Because of Josh, I now pay more attention to the drum beats in songs. I want to say that I find it inspiringly awesome that Josh is a reserved, humble guy in interviews (like a gentle kitten), but when he performs he turns into a fierce tiger. I could watch him drum all day. He is really special. So yeah, Tyler might get the most attention of the two members in the band, but I certainly think that Josh is an integral part of TOP's success. My appreciation of Josh has led to me appreciating drummers in other bands too. As others have discussed, I hope that the next TOP album deals with Josh's anxiety. I imagine that it would be a personification of Josh's Anxiety, just as was done with Tyler's Blurryface. Then, as both of us wish for, people will pay more attention to Josh's anxieties and wellbeing. No matter what is put on the next album, I am sure that I am going to love regardless. I am not putting any pressure on them to release the album. They should take as much time as they need to craft the next album, as Blurryface has set a very high standard. Heh, as you can see, I also tend to ramble, but what better topic is there to ramble about than TOP? To conclude, I feel lucky to be alive at the same time as Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph. I know there are many others who feel the same way.
do you ever think, wow. I grew up with these dorks. I was 8 when i found them in 2012 and was able to meet them that year. I still love them so much and i can't believe that i got to watch tyler get married, josh get a shit ton of tattoos, the band blew up, they got signed, they are playing at sold out arenas, they are learning to deal with their mental stuff more. I'm just glad that I found them and that i was able to be partially raised by them and their music. They love what they do and we love them for doing it.

I’ve just properly realised how great and professional Josh is at answering questions. He answers the question properly and doesn’t get sidetracked too much or get to the point too quickly. He takes his time and explains without dragging on which makes it a lot more interesting. Not to mention, I’ve also noticed how much more confident he seems in this compared to previous interviews, which is absolutely wonderful.
Josh's passion is truly inspiring to me. even though I'm not a drummer, just listening to him talk brings me a sense of clarity and a wish to discover my own passion whatever that might be

This is not only because there are only two band members in TOP, but also because Josh is really showcased in live shows. For example, the 'Ride' island, Josh doing a drum battle with a projected version of himself, and running in the hamster ball (at least, in my concert he was in the ball). TOP does things that other bands do not do, and they do them so well. Because of Josh, I now pay more attention to the drum beats in songs. I want to say that I find it inspiringly awesome that Josh is a reserved, humble guy in interviews (like a gentle kitten), but when he performs he turns into a fierce tiger. I could watch him drum all day. He is really special. So yeah, Tyler might get the most attention of the two members in the band, but I certainly think that Josh is an integral part of TOP's success. My appreciation of Josh has led to me appreciating drummers in other bands too.
As others have discussed, I hope that the next TOP album deals with Josh's anxiety. I imagine that it would be a personification of Josh's Anxiety, just as was done with Tyler's Blurryface. Then, as both of us wish for, people will pay more attention to Josh's anxieties and wellbeing.
No matter what is put on the next album, I am sure that I am going to love regardless. I am not putting any pressure on them to release the album. They should take as much time as they need to craft the next album, as Blurryface has set a very high standard.
Heh, as you can see, I also tend to ramble, but what better topic is there to ramble about than TOP? To conclude, I feel lucky to be alive at the same time as Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph. I know there are many others who feel the same way.

do you ever think, wow. I grew up with these dorks. I was 8 when i found them in 2012 and was able to meet them that year. I still love them so much and i can't believe that i got to watch tyler get married, josh get a shit ton of tattoos, the band blew up, they got signed, they are playing at sold out arenas, they are learning to deal with their mental stuff more. I'm just glad that I found them and that i was able to be partially raised by them and their music. They love what they do and we love them for doing it.

I’ve just properly realised how great and professional Josh is at answering questions. He answers the question properly and doesn’t get sidetracked too much or get to the point too quickly. He takes his time and explains without dragging on which makes it a lot more interesting. Not to mention, I’ve also noticed how much more confident he seems in this compared to previous interviews, which is absolutely wonderful.
