Music Reaction 234: ITZY- Mr. Vampire

ITZY have been going non stop! At least, that is how it feels. "Mr. Vampire" is a very cool and unusual type of track that does some very interesting and unexpected things. The mix has some straightforward elements, namely the bass and percussion. They establish a very solid groove with the sustain of the bass and the slight shuffle in the drums. Above the low end, there is a seemingly random chromatic run on the piano keys. Sounding about an octave total, this piano flourish gives a mystical tough to the verse section. The pre-chorus has very strong harmony with some delightful vocal work. The chorus features a very quirky type of synth arpeggio that occurs over two chords. It gives a very interesting color to the section and keeps that overtone of mysticism and the unexpected feel.
The visuals! My goodness, they look amazing. Ryujin has max charisma and it is working. But they are all serving some out of this world visuals!
