Happens all the time in Florida… always see tourists fishing at pond / ditch edges. They always seem surprised by Mr Gator popping up to greet them.
Lol I saved my friend once we were fishing and he was gonna look in the lake and I know what can happen so I stop him and I was right there was a swamp puppy/gator
Yeah! The sad part is the gators make it to subdivision ponds, and if they’re use to humans they are killed. The tourist are giving them a death sentence, and most don’t know it from ignorance.
More locals fish those than tourists
GTA VI
I swear alligators were the one's to tell people to run in zigzags.
More important pay attention and don't trip while you're running. It defeats the effort.
Running in zig zags is if you’re being shot at, not if a wild animal is chasing you 🤦♂️
You don't know anything about surviving animal attacks, animals with poor near sightedness like rhinos or elephants will continue to charge forward even if you change direction.. stop talking like you know anything 🙄
😂
@@michaelscofield6721 if you are able to outrun and not get got, you should absolutely run straight.
@@Niaz_Syea, but no human is outrunning a Rhino or Elephant 🤣 changing directions on them is your best bet
Zigzagging whilst being shot at is terrible advice, it's a myth perpetuated by Hollywood. The best choice is the most simple and logical, which is to get to cover as quick as possible, which is achieved by running in a straight line.
"Check if you are in gator territory"
The entire state of Florida: 🏃💨
( Louisiana enters the chat)
He turned back around like” I’ll get you and Margie tomorrow Ted, you just wait and see”😈
Margie 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Beat me to it
This always happen in Florida. My brother, Liam, used to live there and got an alligator bite at age 18. Also, When You Are Getting Chased By A Alligator and still chasing you after 3 seconds, Don't wait or try to attack it, just run away as quickly as you can. If the animal seizes hold of you, however, it will likely try to drag you into the water. In this case, you will need to attack it until it lets go.
Running in a zig zag is NOT a myth, and is your best chance at getting away. Wtaf is this person talking about. The American alligator can run something like 35mph in short bursts IN STRAIGHT LINES. Once they have to turn even a little, it pretty much has to stop.
The guy even runs to the right in the video and the gator gives up idk what this lady is talking about
Be proactive-Dont go to Florida
this isnt florida lol
That's what I say , I don't like to live where you're sitting in your backyard , nod off and wake up to a 12 foot alligator chewing on your leg
🐈
You can easily live in Florida without encountering an alligator.
@@drakecarter1780There's plenty of legit reasons to not go to Florida. One of them runs the state. I'm just glad Florida went to heck before I decided to move there, since I use to love the state and planned to move there some years back.
If you atacked go for the eyes, lol good luck on that.
"SIR! we've been trying to contact you about your car's extended warranty"
I hate those scammers 😅
@@bigdonald123 won't even have a car and they still will be trying to sell you some warranty! 😂
"Gators tend to bite and release"
Are you suuure. What's with the death roll then 😢
They do release, then bite again to get a better hold on their prey. Then they do the death roll. Usually their first bite just catches the prey; most likely a foot or something. Releasing and quickly biting again let's them get a larger part of the victim and less chance it will be able to slip away.
The fisherman probably got too close to an alligator’s nest or the food source. The way the alligator was acting, it was trying to scare the fisherman. If the alligator was going to attack or try to eat him, it would have jumped from the water, bit the fisherman, and pulled him into the water.
iirc most alligator attacks on people seem to be since the human wandered too close to alligator territory. Humans are usually too large for most gators (this changes if you have smaller animals like dogs around, since they look more like the gator’s prey). Either way, I’d rather not get attacked by a gator as the bite force or sheer weight can still cause severe injury
He was just having fun
Is it also true that alligators tends to not want to deal with humans? I head Crocs are the real danger. Like black bear vs grizzly
@@Alxsthebunney yes. alligators and crocodiles are equally dangerous. The saltwater variants are always more deadly than the freshwater kind.
With bears, the lighter the fur color is, the more dangerous. Black, then brown, then white (polar) is the most hostile towards humans.
The exceptions are the *sloth bear,* an unusually dangerous black-colored bear from India, and the *panda,* an unusually docile white-colored bear from China.
No charges for alligator: stand your ground state.
I know right ?!?!?!
Lol
“Because it does.” 😂
... and always make sure to turn around and take a photo. 🤷♂️🙄
Alligator: Don't worry bro...I just need ONE leg and then I will leave in PEACE...
"I'll even twist it off below the knee so you'll have a little more mobility!"
Love how he's just slowly transitioning into running. Guess this wasn't his first encounter. I'd have thrown away the fishing rod first thing and bolt in terror.😂
Me, too. I realize he was not a spring chicken, but still, I was really surprised at how slowly that man was running. I’d be thinking as I ran, “Don’t trip! Don’t trip!”
i said the same thing he put so much swagger into it why are you working on style while in conflict must be a louisiana thing
He was making sure he got on the level pathway first. Lol, I don't blame him. Too many times we see people immediately start to take off and trip up on the uneven ground. That would've been bad for him!
Little alligator 😂
Lol 😅 love the way it was going back into the watar😂 seemed like it was cursing or abusing them for not being his snack of the day 😂😅
They've done that to us during the refinery expansion projects in Port Arthur TX. They got used to people feeding them so they have no fear whatsoever of people. But the locals down there let their kids swim in Taylor's Bayou right after seeing them in the water. And I thought us hillbillies were crazy until I moved down there.
there's no crazy like Florida crazy
Hmm no no that’s wrong, let me correct that for you - first, check if you are in gator territory and if you are, leave. 😂😂😂
It’s so on brand that states like Louisiana and Florida would have alligators.
All the states along the gulf coast do.
That’s like saying it’s on brand for McDonalds to sell fast food 😂
I dont understand this comment. Thats like saying its on brand for the white house to be in DC
Gators are not happy about the encroachment issue so..... point? Agree we humans need to educate ourselves before being at the water's edge. Simple and Safer.❤
@joebidenistrash Pretty sure Miami has just as much or worse crime as New York
Funny how grandma was running and looking back just like horror movies!
DONT LOOK BACK!!
The first time I never seen a white man fall in the scary scenes😂😂😂
You won this comment section kudos to you 😂
@@oljerseysoul8724 By your definition. I don't even know what they meant.
Granny in her helmet lol! I know she probably just stopped on her bike to tale pictures of the gator, but it's still kinda funny! 😂
Keep playing with that gator 😂
Grandma runnin a 58.2 fifty yard dash with that funky good times hat.
At least there wasn't a younger woman standing nearby to help by screeching like a banshee.
swamp puppy just wanted a hug
Remember, gators are ambush predators.
The myth about zigzagging and them running fast is hurtful to anyone actually dealing with a gator, run about 30 ft and look behind you and you'll notice they didn't chase you far at all.
They're cold blooded predators, they can't burn too many calories before they get winded.
"Please don't try to feed them."
Me: Who, me?
Yes don’t feed Uranus to the alligator it’s unhealthy
He was just trying to let you know how you can save 15% or more on car insurance!
Running in zig zags applies more to Crocs. They can reach 14-17 feet and weigh 2200 pounds and they are much slower than alligators weighing in at about 500-700 pounds max. That's a huge difference in size . Turning a body low to ground 2200 pounds is not easy. Alligators can run faster and higher off the ground.
Yeah, f1 cars sure are high above ground...
I kinda want to fight a small alligator with something like a spear or an axe
That sad little walk back lol
Someone should bring up that gator attacks are very rare, and evem more rarely are they fatal.
Theyll only attack if they feel threatened, they dont see humans as prey animals. So if you keep your eyes out you should never have to deal with this
Crocodiles on the other hand, they deserve every bad name they get
Alligator: get out to my territory 😠
The woman’s face when it came running outta that water 🤣🤣🤣
He's like dang it!!! Stop stealing my fish! Lol
My pond, my fish buddy!!!
That little thing came after me I'd die laughing.
Alligators in my neighborhood just sit there motionless. I constantly hiss at them and they do nothing.
I wouldn't do anything near the water period.
I couldn't even imagine encountering that.
He was running for life
Just always having a frying pan be with you all the time
That alligator just wanted to claim the territory. He might feel he’s the king of the jungle. An trespassing is illegal an they will be chased down an scared to death. Lol Should put up A sign. Haha
Here’s a suggestion, give gators a hat and give them a job at the border. I’m sure they would be more polite and guaranteed to do the job 😅
Why?? Mexicans work harder than most Americans...
The alligator: that'll show him not to go after my fish
That gator just wanted a treat and a belly rub.
Man: Oh 💩 Oh💩 Oh💩!
Gator: Come back here!
see, I always bring my army combat grade boots anywhere I go, I actually had to stomp an alligator before, though it wasn't a huge one. Florida is wild bru
I lived in south FL for 30 years and never came in contact with a crock or gator in the wild...saw them in quite a distance away though...they are not as numerous as people in NYC as people are led to believe...just don't wander without knowing what might be around...the unknown is more dangerous anywhere than knowing what you're "getting into"!
Ive heard a lot of experts say to run in zig zags.... for hippos i actually have never heard anyone say that about alligators.
Welp alligators won't be the only thing you have to worry about once those Nile Crocs start breeding.
robberies & thieves are bigger problem
If ur in Florida at a lake wondering if ur in gator territory, you are.
idk why but my first thought was jump on its back
why'd he stop running
Yeah sounds like zig zagging would work better
I couldn't live in Florida 😮
I think it fries peoples brains, i.e. deSantis and their backward politics
This is SC
Lol this happened to me while I was fishing. It came up and I just kicked my legs and yelled. It was about 4 feet long so I knew it wouldn't eat me 😅
Stop lying
@@christopherbristol4598😂
it probably wanted what you were "fishing" for and NOT you
So....... the Alligators are basically me.
Alligator wanted a quick snack 😋
Everyone should have a Combat Knife.
Him not having an ar15 with him near that beast, he was asking for it
Everyone should invest in nuclear warheads
have fun losing your arm
Does stand your ground apply with gators too?😂
He just wants to say hi 😢
I'd freak out if I was chased by an alligator 🐊
then KNOW where you're going and STAY AWAY
She's sitting on a nest, don't play with momma gator😊
The guy literally runs to the right instead of a straight line.
I think if it ain't nesting season and one acts like that, it should be turned into my dinner.
Here’s some help for you all… it’s a GIGANTIC myth that alligators can run “30+ mph”… in reality they top out at no more than about 12 mph and the average human can easily outrun them in both sheer speed AND stamina. Just keep your distance
Yeah, I wondered how they could move that fast with their bulky bodies and stumpy little legs.
He was after the fish
That skinny gator is hungry.
Why was she recording and not helping 💀
you don't have to be faster than the gator, you just need be faster than that sweet little old lady.
this happens a lot! In Florida
Looks like Shipyard Plantation on Hilton Head Island..
I once lived there..
I can tell they drunk milk 🥛They have the calcium they need for strong bones to get low when a alligator 🐊 is chasing them
If I ever go to Florida thank you for the tip or Louisiana both are Gator and Croc territorial at least to my knowledge ik there are more in other places maybe Africa as well.
Run fast
That’s surreal… he tried that. Wtf😮
😂 pow pow uk
An alligator that small...I think I would try to take. 😄
GO BEHIND A POLE OR TREE!
That’s a croc
It looked small
MOVE!
You need pan
So close, yet so far.
With this newfound information I will now fight an alligator
It didn’t go well
Runs 🏃♂️ from gator 🐊 gets hit by car 🚘
first time karen didnt invove the cops....lol
Also, come back later with a 45ACPA and “massage” the gator between the eyes to prevent the gator from chasing anyone else.
come on - call the Fish & wildlife folks - they will transport them into the Everglades easily! Don't HAVE to kill them any more than the WILD PIGS that can REALLY get you!
YOU CAN OUTRUN ALIGTORS BUT NOT CROCS NEVER EVER EVER RUN FROM A CROC UNLESS IT RUNS BEFORE YOU
She was just chasing the guy off. No fishing in the pond with her babies in it.
And lastly please don’t try to feed them
I’ll run in a zig zag thank you.
they DON'T climb trees - but do go higher than 12 feet if they're big ones
Bro i was little i would been lunch time i just didnt show fear or run away and the alligator reaction couldnt been i get you later dont worry am.full
I feel like unsheathing two katanas and readying them in striking position would be enough to make a gator think twice. Kill bill style, 😂
what to do if a alligator starts chasing you
anybody who tells you to run from a gator is dumb, gators are easy to wrestle bc of short arms
The time im between the bute is probably 0.01 second
