Love Strata so much. That section at 12:04 that was where my D4 slid sideways into the bank as I was going through, left a gash in the rear near side wheel arch trims that I had to get repaired. Funnily enough I am looking to hopefully buy a Pinzgauer in the coming year or so, maybe for conversion into a camper van. Great video as always heck of a shock to see one of them on this.
You’ll love it!! It’s such a stunning track!! Feel free to share your trips with us on instagram! You never know might see you on the lanes! Thanks for watching hope you enjoy the channel!! 👌🏼👌🏼
Cheers buddy glad you enjoyed it!! Those two defenders are well kitted out!! Was lovely to drive these lanes and not see a sole for ages! Couple of bikers and a cool military truck! 👌🏼👌🏼
It’s one of the best and elan valley lower claerwen is really good that’s the section near end of the vid!! Glad you enjoyed the vid!! We have a Facebook group if you want to join us??
Yes it’s such a lovely track!! There’s is alot of abuse in the marsh areas..but other than that it’s so nice gets a bit busy in the summer time so we avoid it then..only do it couple times a year.. Recently did the special classic Land Rover event there to celebrate 75years anniversary of Land Rover Full vid on here!! 👌🏼👌🏼
It’s fine if you’ve done it before and the water levels are fine. Personally don’t go on your own the track is rough and water can be deep after rain fall we was there yesterday and came across a stranded couple in there ford ranger rock had lifted rear diff and gearbox we helped them get going so if you do do it have a snorkel be prepared and have good tyres we had a puncture right at the end of lane sharp rocks.
Thanks for the reply. I’ve got good all terrain tyres and thinking of doing it this Saturday if it doesn’t rain too much before. Would you recommend north to south or south to north?
Go north to south start at the abbey as if the water is deep the flow will be coming from behind we always go south to north like on this video this was after couple days of rain so dies get deep 🤘😎 any problems and you need help join our Facebook group got plenty local guys to help or join you 😎👍
Yes not a problem all very good tracks and sustainable ground nice and solid.. We run a mixture of vehicles on these routes and everything does the route no problem!! 👌🏼👌🏼
No problem we don’t use it much come the summer time as it gets very busy.. Also if it’s been Raining for couple days before you go there it can get very deep and fast flowing it rained a few days before we went that’s why came in south end as the first water crossing if it’s raging it’s going to be impassible further up. We agreed it was safe to travel and it was fine couple deep puddles along the way.. If you do elan valley you need to contact elan valley rangers by email to get access for the link road to get to the dams.
@@ALL_4_WHEELS really appreciate the info buddy. Defo want to be doing things the right way. Might even be sensible to hook up with you guys for a pass.
There was an electric new defender that did this in the summer when the levels were really low!! I’m sure if it was this deep they may have a few electrical issues haha 🤣🤣
Did this 25 years ago in a 1990 range rover 3.9 se vogue! Was great fun! I now have a 2001 wj jeep 4.7, so want to do this again!!
Let me know when you want to do it again and you can come and join us? Will be next year as we’re pretty full for trips until new year
