    Lets not forget that the Turbos were a stack of React and ZoomX. It was never a full ZoomX shoe. And that led to a really well balanced, comfortable and durable shoe. IMO, the best running shoe overal ever.

    There is definitely something flawed with fusing ZoomX material together to create a composite layer! We have seen it in the new Zoom Fly 5, the Alphafly Nature and you can feel it where the Vaporfly ZoomX layers meet around the carbon plate, the ZoomX certainly gets tough/firm! Such a shame, the Pegasus Turbo 1 was one of those special sensations when you put a shoe on your foot and it changes the game!

    Great work on getting a video out quickly for a very hyped up shoe.
    My personal opinion is that this needed to be Nike's answer to the Endorphin Speed 2, we didn't need a flashy daily trainer. It looks amazing in my opinion but doesn't seem an evolution in the performance of the Turbo name.
    The 35 Turbo was an incredible shoe 😎

    Saw Ben’s review and same thing. Looks like the endorphin speed 3 gonna still be the king of daily trainers that can be used for speed/racing. Who’s with me?

    Why does Nike just do not get back to the Original Peg Turbo design ? That was one of the best shoes ever and they decided to stop their production. Insane

  • @albertteng1191

    Tried it on at the store and run it around in the small test "track" and i must say i still prefer my asics glideride 3. This version of turbo doesnt even remind me of the slightest of the previous turbo 2. The upper is thick and very warm, the midsole isnt that bouncy, and its a lil too heavy. Should be good for casual use but not really for serious running, but thats my own opinion only. The recycled zoom x foam does not feel anything near zoomx found in invincible run or vaporfly. The pegasus 39 imo is a better option for running

  • @vincents.6639
    @vincents.6639 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I got a chance to try this at store, and was excited. However I was disappointed as it’s nothing like the past Peg Turbo. It’s firm, and in today’s availability of running shoes I wonder why Nike release this. The Peg 39 feels much better than this Peg Turbo.

    Great video, appreciate this channel for the info before any of us spend our hard earned dollars. I really want companies to make shoes in a more sustainable way but so far it seems to come with significant performance sacrifices. I would be interested to know if you found a ‘greener’ daily trainer that is quality for serious running.

  • @DeanT1987

    Real shame. Peg turbo 1 and 2 were the best of its kind. And todays zoomX is even better and softer, the fact that it’s firmer than the old stuff is a big disappointment. I consider Nike zoomX and new balance fuel cell as the best foams and this shoe is doing an injustice.

    • @MattD86
      @MattD86 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup. Just buy the Rebel v2 or 3. Better than the older Peg Turbos too anyways

  • @69mario5

    • @cameronthaijohnson
      @cameronthaijohnson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not really tbh. And definitely stiffer but seems to be the bottom layer carrier foam and outsole. Kinda more slappy/clunky. Less smooth.

      I returned my first Peg1 aswell. Have one pair of each now that is still going strong. Both around 400km so still a lot of fun to be had in those. :)

  • @Arki2019
    @Arki2019 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Heard the zoomx scrap does take some breaking in to soften. Also comparing this to plated shoes is irrelevant have to look at the non plated options for comparison. This model for me sits in the daily category now, I think if the first turbo was to release now.. it would get the same mediocre reviews. And the deviate nitro 2 is better than the endorphin speed.

    I swear this 'recycled ZoomX' is a scam. Where are they supposedly getting so many scraps from???
    Nike is a marketing company that just happens to make shoes as well, probably has something to do with this.
    They make it seem like the only way to 'recycle' it is to put it back in shoes. But PEBAX can be recycled quite easily.

    Trading on the name, Nike are really missing the boat with some of their recent shoe releases, much better daily/training specific shoes out there, including Nike's own Streakfly ( have one pair and am looking to order another)

    Apart from the Vaporfly /Alphafly series(Vaporfly next%,Alphafly 1+2),Streakfly ZoomX and Invisible, Nike’s politics with running shoes seems weird to me.They keep releasing mediocre heavy shoes like this one(peg turbo next nature),infinity, Air Zoom Tempo next%,Vomero 16,Zoom Fly(both 4 and 5) etc., wich are not better then their main daily trainer which is Pegasus but-surprisingly-they always cost more. I’m gonna pass on this one and since. I already own 2 pairs of vaporfly next %(the 1 and the 2) plus 34 more pairs of shoes (36 overall),I don’t see buying a Nike shoe anytime soon

  • @AGC828
    @AGC828 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nike is getting lazty in their shoe desgining. The Turbo NN is essentially a more expensive vesin of the Zoom Fly 5. :) Same midsole. Different otusole. Different upper. Why didnt Nike bring back the react/solid Zoom X midsole as was in the Turbo 2??? Want to expereince ZOOM X? Get the Streakfly. ...if you're a marathoner and h ave iether the Vaporfly or Alphafly already....
    The Fly 5 and Turbo NN....???? Cash grabs.

      I never quite understood why companies do this the only thing is to make their image as progressive and accommodating the people who think recycled materials make things sustainable I think? I just think they should reduce the price of recycled materials because these companies technically are charging full price for shoes that were once trash. At least reduce the price. this video explains how the zoomx could be affected overall because of the recycled material.

      I don’t think it’s trash, it’s the offcuts and pieces during the manufacturing of the AF, VF, and the invincible. That being said I don’t get why Nike doesn’t understand that just cause it’s partially recycled doesn’t mean we’ll just buy it for that reason. For $150, it still HAS to be a good running shoe, especially with how competitive the market is now (Mach5, Speed3, Novablast3, Velocity Nitro 2) we are going to be very picky on what we choose to buy.
