Loved your commentary on Black Hawk Down. One thing to note, in the real life battle, Delta did have early IR lasers in their inventory. I’m not sure if the Rangers would’ve had this, but some Delta guys would mount AIM-1D lasers to the sights/barrels of their gun. It’s actually believed SFC Randy Shughart had an AIM-1D laser on his M14 rifle, but that’s just speculation. The movie doesn’t depict any guys with lasers.
His experience speaks a lot, and he elaborates on all his comments. He knew a lot of the movie details as well, which is not something that's normally seen in other reacts. Great react.

I found it interesting that a left handed actor was made the M60 gunner. It couldn't have been much fun with the links and shells ejecting near his face.
He was partnered with Twombly. I read the original book, and it is confirmed. In fact, they were separated from Chalk Four, just not the way the movie portrays.

First Blackhawk Down scene in this video. The guy on the right with the M249 was not a Machine-Gunner, he was an Automatic-Rifleman. Guy on the left with the M60 was a Machine-Gunner. The late 80’s and early 90’s were kind of weird time for US Army doctrine, where the Machine-Gunner and Auto-Rifleman were essentially the same role besides the difference in ammunition they carry. Since then, they have become distinctly different roles.

4:11 it is important to note for this, the slings in use at the time were not/not always the modern super long, wrap around your body type slings. They were either leftover green USGI slings, black usgi slings, or nylon "silent slings" for the most part, which were only long enough for carrying the gun on the shoulder. Most of these guys would have had the sling dangling below the rifle while in use. Some guys taped on duffel bag straps and used them more like modern slings but that was not all that common.

In the Sicario scene, every operator exits their vehicle to engage the threat EXCEPT for Josh Brolin and his drivers, who are guarding the prisoner in another Tahoe. You are absolutely correct that the prisoner is the primary objective, however considering there was a major traffic jam and they could not move, they also could not risk being ambushed by the cartel gang members to their left. Great analysis overall.
So your assessment of sicario didn’t take into account the absolute don’t give an ‘f’ mentality of the sicario. There was a story to the errors too that compliments the characters. Excellent analysis though. Hats off to your service.
Yeah if you ever get the time definitely read the book Black Hawk Down as the movie was created based off the real events depicted in that book. The only thing in the movie that completely went left of the book (likely to not humiliate the guy) was the true cause of the whole situation going wrong wasn't that someone shot an RPG at the black hawk causing dude to miss the rope and injure himself, instead that guy was just a new ranger and he got over excited and when he jumped out the helicopter he just... missed the rope. Other than that difference the movie was very true to the source material and the testimonials of the soldiers that lived through this experience.
In Sicario 1, "this operator literally flags the FBI agent's head." He's not a CIA operator, he's a Mexican civilian along for his own personal revenge mission. In the long run, the movie is about him, not Emily Blunt. Of course, you can be excused for getting it wrong, since it's only revealed at the end of the movie. But he does not have the training that you assume.

US Special Ops trained a lot of the Cartels during Reagan's War On Drugs. Also fought against them too.
