Age does not mean you're experienced. I've met a ton of ex-racehorses that are the calmest, most bombproof animals I've ever met from their time on the racetrack. I've seen 6 year olds control an ex-racehorse, and I've seen 20 year olds struggle to walk a quarter horse. Just because the horse is an ex-racehorse does not mean they are green or spooky or energetic.
