I too wanted him to copy it on floppy since I had no CD drive (could you imagine). But the demo was too big for the floppy, but my PC knowledge at that time was non-existent. Pretty much like this video, except after finishing the missions I went on to sell a few dozens of cars on the docks, just to enjoy the feel of this great game. Why didn't I enjoy it nearly as much in my childhood as I did now? Probably because I would hardly ever do any missions, most of the time I would just hang around shooting and blowing up stuff. So much lost joy to make up for. As much as I love the newer GTA games, GTA1 feels so alive, it always gives me the feel that some shit is going down in the city.
CrystalMV when I got this game I was a near kid. And all I would do was drive around and shoot things 😂. And on some occasions try and drive around normally with my map out
It was cool that you didn't need to do any missions to beat the game, it just took a long time. I used to hang around near docks to get a good car, then sell it off undamaged. You could get loads of money for some of them.
@@yazinbazin Yeah, Trains were removed on the Playstation release, most likely due to memory limitations. They did this for the PS port of GTA 2 as well
Wonderful memory of being at my neighbors house playing the demo of this, and his dad coming angrily up the stairs saying "we don't play games where you run people over in this house!!"
TheLambdaTeam It's a tricky one for sure...I recommend going to left and staying on the bigger freeway like I did...doesn't mean for sure that you'll make it but it does give you a better chance

G L O C K They’re not better than the new ones. Doesn’t mean the 2D GTAs are bad, but the game design and stories improved after GTA2. And the in game map feature is a godsend for the difficult to memorize GTAI maps. GTAIII has no ingame map as well but the map is detailed enough that you can remember key locations.

Humm did you watch the whole video? I don't have timestamps but I did every mission since it's a 100% speedrun including other vehicle missions. The mission might be in the other liberty city chapter(there a video for that one too).

For those interested in Speedruning this game. I remember as a kid that if you press the Enter key while pressing the Right arrow key next to the left door of any car the character enters into it slightly faster than just pressing Enter for some reason.

Quick ban it! Once it did get banned in some countries you best believe they added that to the game box. Had it on pc. Man you really had to mess with the settings to make driving easier. I mean there was nothing like running a bike into the back of a bus.

I only disagree with it aging well, but that's part of its charm. Very fun once you get used to the jerky controls.

The secret mission with the wired Coach is next to impossible to finish. Out of 100 tries, I managed to pull it off only twice.
