    Have a speed car coming sometime this year. Is the electric power steering worth the investment?

      Not every car has the same feedback in the steering. Get out and drive it for a bit. If you don’t like the feedback, the electric power steering makes driving effortless

    Wow.....the reality today as compared to the "progress videos" the Speed put out over the few years is staggering! Let's see here....folks are reporting complete engine failures, coolant/hydraulic/shock leaks, steering issues, excessive belt temps, belt failures, overheating issues, etc.
    Seems a bit more R&D is still needed....I know the other mfg's aren't without their own issues but come on....one other topic is the seemingly excessive maintenance required for this "race car" (Chubacabra).

      I have had just about all of the issues, and have been willing to work through them. I would love to put my car in a race or take it on a long trip, but I still do not feel like it’s quite there yet. Belt temps are my final issue, hoping the clutch fan fixed it!

    If you have a hydraulic line failure will the eps limp you home?

    • @UTV-A
      @UTV-A  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The shaft goes through the hydraulic lines, so technically it’s hydronic assist, however the EPS UNIT itself is substantial, so I think it would. I’m gonna check with Speed and see what they say. Great question!

    Let us know what you think of the steering and clutch fan after some testing.

      Absolutely will do!

      Zero feedback in the steering, still getting use to it, it’s different!

    why you addet a eps ? i am a quadraplegic, need to steer with left hand only...allways looking for a verryverry light steering solution. my x3 eps gets fast overheatet and under heavy load it just blocks !

      @UTV-A  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The hydraulic steering has a tremendous amount of feedback over bumps and corners, you get used to it after a while. It also jerks on the pavement. I tested the EPS last night, and there is zero feedback on the trails and pavement. How long before yours overheats? I’ll keep an eye on mine.

      @@UTV-A after 2 years she startet to get off balance a bit and hot till stopp. then we mount a ventilater on it to support but in serpentine with a lot of corners like we just racet the hellasrally in greece, the sidepresure of fronttires made here to block. 2third of the rest of event we drove in only backwheeldrive to come home. now we send for a service...

      @UTV-A was it torque limiter that was the problem? That would explain the issues you had in the rocks and it slipping.

    • @UTV-A
      @UTV-A  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, it was the torque limiter, all fixed now, so happy!

    Eps looks cool, but it's shitty you gotta buy it.

      The stock hydraulic system is actually not too bad, I can see myself turning it off from time to time. The stock steering takes some getting use to, if you are coming from an older UTV, trophy truck, buggy you probably won’t complain. Coming from a pro R, you are wanting for better steering. I’ve never really liked the square steering wheel, this upgrade will help with that….
