It really is such a great video. It’s a great piece of music and obviously a wonderful choir - the singing tells its own story, but the enjoyment of the performance really comes across so well. I’m not surprised you said the choir was fun, I’d have loved to have been part of this :)

Who is Sylvia is one of the most breathtakingly stunning choral pieces ever written, and this is beautifully be performed by a choir at the top of its game. Good diction and blend, superb tone, and complete engagement from each of them. Well done, profoundly moving.

There are some choirs where you hear the first few notes and know you're in safe hands - you can just sit back and enjoy. This is one of those choirs.

What a beautiful setting of Shakespeare's sonnets but then what else would you expect from George Shearing. He left an amazing legacy. R.I.P. George !

Truly wonderful! You wont hear a choir this good in a long time and your right, George would be swaying back and forth in time.

The Hampstead Chamber Choir and Camden Choir in North London sang this last Saturday, but not I'm afraid from memory!! It was part of a concert we called Love Sacred, Love Profane with music ranging from Palestrina to Billy Joel.

Great performance.....I've really enjoyed listening to these .....first introduced to me by my son-in-law singing them to my daughter! Looking forward to singing these with Finchley Choral Society in July 2017!!!

This is a class act. The first item is an absolute delight, the last is quirkily presented and brilliantly rounded off by the pianist, and everything in between is weightlessly balanced and delicious. Well done the choir, well done the accompanists and especially well done the director. Rob Peel

Someone who probably remembers the first time trying to sight read this. Lots scarier on paper than when performed.

Sang these a couple of years ago and they are some of the best setting of Shakespeare ever. This performance has great tempi, balance, diction - what's not to adore?

Just started rehearsing these and other settings of Shakespeare and they are just fabulous. Plus Mr Shakespeare's lyrics aren't half bad too!

I have listened to several other recordings, but they all take "Live with me and be my love" too slow.... this has a much more "Shearing-like" swing to it :)

Hello, does anyone know the title of the carol (Christmas carol?) Shearing quotes between 0:55 and 1:09? I can't remember what it is! Thanks in advance!

Now is the Month of Maying - quotes it because of the reference to madrigals just before!

Fine diction and good balance between the voices. The tempi were a little pedestrian in places - 'swing' is OK you know! I loved 'Who is Sylvia' - I'm going to commit heresy here and say that I prefer Shearing's setting to Schubert's! The choir I'm in sang these last year, and when I get married next month they're going to sing 'It Was a Lover and His Lass' when we come in.
