Been playing Ark for a few years but I learned TWO things in today's episode, beaver dams spawning in a trap annnnnd Icthyornis stealing out of an unconscious tame, wow, didn't know that can happen.
With ark you never stop learning

You have the best Basics guide to Ark, so glad you started it back up. You should do a video about Dimetrodons. For regular, non modded players, the Dimetrodon is a lifesaver. It can incubate ANY eggs, keeping them perfectly warm or cool, until they hatch, eliminating the need for AC units or heating elements. It's too often skipped over and considered a useless tame because all the TH-camrs play modded/S+ so you have different means of egg care, but it's an extremely underrated creature that can help SO many players.
You can do the same thing with otters and penguins. And they're easier to tame.
Dimetrodons are a pain to tame. That's the big problem with them

"castor" is the french word for "beaver"
"roid" like "steroid"
so basically , they are beavers on steroids. that would explian their size lol

Perfect timing!! I had recently tamed a beaver after raiding the damn. Yes, it killed me. So, I came back to tame it. It's hanging out at my base because I didn't know what to do with it (and I'm not high enough level to make the saddle). One thing that was huge for me (that you failed to mention) is the the beaver damn is a great cementing paste resource. I was able to make a water jar, woohoo! I am terrified of wandering off too far. I am making outpost bases with sleeping bags in them in case I die, I can hopefully re-spawn close by. Thanks again for these beginner guides!!

You can set your beaver to "wandering" and he will go around and chop trees for you.

starbomber tame a theri to gather wood and a mammoth to put it all in it because weight is reduced inside of it
Just because of watching your videos, I also tamed a cute Lystro, named it Murder, and let it wander around my base. Cute little guy.

I bought ark a few years ago but never got into it until recently and I just want to say you have helped me so much so thank you you have the best walkthrough playlist I have seen by far for this game

I just built this same exact trap for my trike, I did it 3x3 however. I managed to lure two of them in and tame them both, one got killed underwater however but doing it all by hand was easy. Now I am definitely looking for a beaver as I want to build up my raft to transport goods across large bodies of water or to attack offshore.

That’s kinda like how I farm beaver dams.
Build two three by three stone pens.
Surround with spike walls
Use an argy to drop two or three beavers in.
Fly away, when you come back transfer the beavers to the other pen, raid the dam that spawns.
Rinse and repeat.

I love Ark and newly discovered it the last few days. Been following the tutorials. Is there any advice on what to do when you run out of resources in the area at your starting base/!zone? Would you move your entire base and how would you do that? Thank you. Love these videos. 😊

I've only been playing a couple weeks but know your location within seconds. I was just there not ten min ago stealing Spino eggs. That buddy always is on that river there. I guess its not so random but in everyone's game. Same with those beavers being there.

ok I'm a few years late to the party :) - been playing a few weeks since it came out free with PSplus - switched to pc version when i realised how good it was! - love the videos, really helping me! so i have a question on the trap - have they changed the way they build now? as i cannot get the ramp to work? no snap on point
You need to put a foundation or pillar below the ramp

@@Malus1167 yeah... people who use mods don't always remember what's like to play without them, so they asume certain things that people who doesn't use them, can't do. It's like "normal" for them. He did mention that he's using s+ (structures plus) but he didn't went in detail about everything about it... anyways... if you need any help just send me a message, I'm happy to help

It always depends on your gathering rates and the quality of your tools
Sinage Gravy Tame an Ankylo and go to that volcano in the middle of the map with an argentavis. I got 3k metal ore in like 5 minutes

What I do for torpor is wait for the unconscious meter us wait for it to get the first s in unconscious then pump 10 narcotics in ‘em

i am playing mobile and i also established my base in that location and i also have a spino spawned in that place. and to make things worst, about 1.5km away from that spino is a high level alpha carno. so i surrounded that beach with spike walls. 😂😅

How is it not for beginners?? If you don't have beavers spawning atm go kill other stuff to promote spawns. That's how the game works
