Unquestionably underrated. I've seen them live 7 times and they are absolutely fantastic. I never get tired of seeing them, and they are always top notch. This album came out my senior year of high school and is still one of my absolute favorite albums of all time... interestingly enough, I did really love Chase This Light, maybe even more than Bleed American. B.A is number one for nostalgia, but CTL just sounds so full and amazing. "Dizzy" is my absolute favorite song of theirs, and I FINALLY got to see them play it live in Charlotte a few years back
I’ll be honest, I’ve always considered myself a jimmy eat world fan, but I hadn’t heard this song until fuckin Hot Mulligan covered it. And listening to them is kind of seldom too. I say all that to say, it’s definitely underrated.
I haven't heard this one in awhile but it is such a great song. I used to have this on repeat back in the day. Jimmy Eat World has always been so underrated.
I remember when their first hit “ The middle” came out and love the shit out of it. I was lucky to see them live in Bakersfield, CA when they toured with Blink 182 and Green Day back in 2002? Awesome performance.
When i first heard this song it was like getting kicked in the jaw. The band had arrived and made a statement here we are. I was like who the fuck are these guys. They seemingly came out of nowhere they absolutely floored you. They were way to good to be brand new. They seemed both old and young at the same time. How the fuck did these guys go unnoticed for so long? Once I was done picking up my teeth and apologizing for being young and I are of one of the great ones. I hunted down everything they ever did and realized I had heard of them. They were all blink 182 could talk about and if you ever used a peer to peer downloading service (line wire)you would often find there work mislabeled as someone else’s. Then I truly found clarity one of the harder albums to get a hold of due to capital barely making an effort to get it out there and I was hooked. Look it was a long time ago and I may have thing mixed up in terms of when I heard what first. But I do know this absolutely floored me. Bleed American the album is one of the best albums of the 21st century. It doesn’t have a skipable song and it is timeless. You play it front to back and you can do so for as long you live.
They were both old and new at the same time yes I absolutely remember being floored and giddy with excitement. An album you can listen back to front with 0 skips. Revisiting this song so many years later is like teleporting with nostalgia to a simpler time
I love Jimmy Eat World, they're my favorite band honestly When they came to my city in 2017 i did not want to miss it so i actually went to their concert by myself 😂 It was a spiritual experience for me tbh and Incubus was there too ❤❤❤❤
Just seen these guys today supporting the Foo Fighters, I ve listened to them for ages but its the first time I have seen them live. These guys fucking kick ass live!!!!!
I really like this song. I never really stopped to listen to Jimmy Eat World before. They've been out for so long, too. But I like the way this song sounds. I think I might listen to some more stuff from them.
Oh man I absolutely L-O-V-E this song and the video!!!!!! J.E.W. Rocks!!!! Plus don't u all just love the awesome headbanging Jim's doing?! Oh my gosh it's so funny his fair is flying everywhere. You should've seen the look on my mother's face when she saw his headbanging. It was hilarious lol
My brother jammed this song before his Tour in Iraq. He made it, thank god for Army. God bless all our blood bonds in war no matter WHAT THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!! FIGHT FOR FOOD, WE WILL BE THE FOOD SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 1
didnt realise this was official jimmy eat word. massive respect, saw 2 of your songs that u played live on letterman? incredibly tight, nice! Come to ireland
Emo was a sub-genre of hardcore punk that has since evolved and become part of the basis of modern indie-rock. Also, the hardcore influence of emo has evolved to become screamo and has taken aspects of metal to form metalcore. For emo proper, look up Rites of Spring, Fugazi (which might also be described as post-hardcore), Gray Matter, or most any of the original releases from dischord records. As for 90's emo, look up Mineral and Cap'n Jazz.
Back when Adam remembered what it was like to work for your money. Now he just sits in his McMansion judging the poors. It’s wild to see how far apart him and Kimmel went with their personas.
How that I looked them up, I find so much more awesome songs. In Belgium they were mainly known for bleed american and one more song (i don't remember). They were never heard of again after that here. Right now I regret that. They really do make good songs. I loved this song in my early teens. Was like 13 when this song came out on the radio.
it was either his little brother/son who drew a drawing and he asked what it was, so the kid said "Jimmy Eat world" and that was the inspiration for the name
Somebody should upload the video in HD... Americans, if you've got FuseTV or VH1 Classic, do us all a favor and upload the video in a decent video quality
I can't say that I love everything these guys do but what I can say is that they are musicians at the top of their game. Everything they make is high quality and very well crafted rock music. And the songs that I do enjoy, I enjoy very much. True classic music.
Although this was a huge hit record for them I still feel it's underrated and they themselves are an underrated band. I love Bleed American!!!
I still remember this being huge on TRL.
10000% underrated
Unquestionably underrated.
I've seen them live 7 times and they are absolutely fantastic.

This is probably my favorite Jimmy Eat World song.

Yessir!
I haven't heard this one in awhile but it is such a great song. I used to have this on repeat back in the day. Jimmy Eat World has always been so underrated.
A great band.
Damn, I remember jamming to this song when I was like 11. SHIET, this brings back memories of a simpler time for me.
Same man, now am 30 😓

This comment may be old, but damn it son, it’s as true as ever.
Me, too. I remember we could bring in CDs to play in art class...3 Doors Down, Jimmy Eat World, Sum-41, etc...all radio edits of course lol
I’m 12, and I’ve been listening to Jimmy Eat World since I was 5, this band is awesome, especially this song
Whenever I work out, I listen to just this song. Over and over and over again.
I remember when their first hit “ The middle” came out and love the shit out of it. I was lucky to see them live in Bakersfield, CA when they toured with Blink 182 and Green Day back in 2002? Awesome performance.
I love how even 20 years ago people were making the point that the American Dream™ was basically just watching TV and taking Prozac
I've been listening to this song all week holy crap it is so good, I love Jimmy Eat World
I just came back I listened to 555 and I'm blown away at the progression of Jimmy I love it haha
ahha Jimmy eat world here, thanks so much for being a fan of us lol
Good times! I was 19 back in 2001..
This song has so much more energy than a lot of their others, and imo it makes its a lot better, anyone else agree?
Uh, I know I'm 14 years late, but I agree 100 percent! The emotion and passion in it is amazing in addition to the catchiness!

I appreciate that it even sounds like it was uploaded in 2007
I loved this album back in the day.
If I had a pound for every pixel in this video, I'd have £1
Ain't about the pixels here son
If you're interested in picture quality rather than good music then I recommend some Beyonce or 1 direction coz this aint for you
😂😂😂
Those are pixels? I thought it was a flip book of 4X7 Polaroid photos.
buddy in 2001 (when this album was released) we may not have had pixels ... But we had great music
Takes me back to being 14 all over again. Pure nostalgia.

@normalkid25 Actually it was renamed Salt Sweat Sugar after 9/11. Not just in the uk, in the whole world.
