You remember that wrong, he concealed some of his chains while fighting but always wore visible chains.
This was a bluff so his opponents think he's using real chains and wouldn't think to use Gyo to check for any invisible conjured chains.
That bluff is how he was able to put Uvo into chain jail so effortlessly, because Uvo thought they were real chains, not conjured ones.
Also, remember Kurapika openly used his chains when they were in the mansion, getting tested for the job at the beginning of the arc.
He also used the chains as a lie detector, so it would be beyond stupid if the guy didn't know Kurapika used chains.
And well... obviously he knows Kurapikas name as he works with him lmao. WIth Pakunoda being able to read thoughts and memories as it seems, getting his name is easy.
Leorio is so badass that here 10:50 he screams with The Spiders and they accept it and keep themselves quiet
Pakunoda's inner monologue and her reciting her fortune that entire scene is one of my favorites in this arc in fact pakunoda as whole is a Lowkey highlight of the arc for me
I love the relationship between Hisoka and Illumi, even though Illumi doesn't admit that they are friends. But they both help each other without asking any questions.

The overlap and intrigue in the ark is so sick. I love how this anime has several independent OP characters without allegiances with each other. Keeps you guessing
Fr. This is an anime I went into blind and with zero expectations. Seemed like a chill, mindless, wholesome shounen that I could kickback and just relax watching.
Boy was I wrong. This anime absolutely blew my expectations out of the water with every turn. Every twist was different from what I expected to happen. Everything just blew me away. The in-depth character writing, the world building, the fighting system. Everything seemed so meticulously planned out.
It is now my favourite anime of all time for 7 years running now I've rewatched it more times than I can count, and very few other anime now live up to my expectations.

A lot of fans and reactors miss this but when Chrollo asked Kurapika what Uvo's last words were and Kurapika said he doesn't remember and Chrollo said he's lying, that was actually the biggest f you and insult to Kurapika because Uvo's last words were actually, "Die, fool".

This scene is such a meme because so many viewers thought Kurapika was female lmao.
It goes smth like:
Chrollo: "I didn't expect the chain user to be a woman."
Kurapika: *takes off wig* "Got something to say now?"
Chrollo: "Oh, I didn't expect the chain user to be a woman."
In the 1999 version they also joked about this, in the hunter exam when they were on the airship on the way to the trick tower, they had rooms for 2 people each, not just a community sleeping room. Kurapika and Leorio shared a room and Leorio was acting like they should be careful about privacy and stuff, Kurapika was confused, Leorio was like "What? You're a woman and I'm not trying to accidentally creep on you."
Kurapika told him he's a guy and Leorio was surprised af.
I didnt know the characters in the world also thought Kurapika was a woman, I assumed it was just when he put on the white wig.
Kurapika was supposed to be a female but then the writer changed it.
Yet Kurapika started feeling creeped out after that conversation and then Leorio came out of the shower with nothing on.
What's even more sus is that after getting beat for indecent exposure, Leorio mumbled into his own bed about actually attacking Kurapika if he keeps reacting like this. 1999 hxh was too wild with the fillers. Too much fanservice.

The plot of the story is so ahead of its time considering the manga arc came out like around 2000. And I don't mean only for the anime industry.

Melodys' theme came up, it's called 'No no Hana' and is heavily inspired by Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring', which is a very unique piece, very much recommend (provided anyone ever reads this comment).
The first time I realized Killua doesn't make sound while walking or running is because melody mention that in this episode since that everytime Killua in screen I focus on the sound he makes lol
And when I rewatching for the first time long time ago, Killua never makes a noise that's show the consistent because sometimes a character little details can change in mid off show

Because many show make "the favorite character" fight together (I really love that see my favorite character in one team or sides) and I realized that most off the fight in HxH is one by one. Now I want to see a lot of Nen users fight it once, must be chaos 😅
This is why this ark is PEAK. It’s my favorite arc (though I acknowledge another arc later as the best in Shounen history)

its not half of the troupe, its half of the spider's limbs. That means 4 members were prophesied to die
The Phantom Troupe spider, that they all have tatooed, has 12 legs. One for each member so 6 fated deaths. The predicitons aren't set in stone though, bad ones can be avoided (Eg Shuzuku and Nobunaga only had 2 verses instead of 4 so if the Troupe hadn't changed their plans, they'd be dead.)

The Zoldyks consider themselves as providers of a service. Its a duty that's passed down by generation. Killing is their trade, its what they’re good at and always have been. The money is inconsequential (they privileged af though, might as well be assassin royalty).
