  • Honey Bee entertainment with audio recorded within inches of the bees at their various entrances.
    Surround yourself with audio just as if sitting on the landing board of a hive.
    Head phone wearers be warned that some people instinctively slap their headset.
    All of these sequences were recorded on March 5th.
    Dusted honey bees that appear white, have pollen substitute on them. Most of the foragers are finding real/natural pollen and nectar.

      Really envious of you guys. Have seen a few of you cousins across the pond have bees flying and collecting.
      Here theyve hardly had any flight time, weather been miserable, like i know its the UK but come on warmth lol

    I'm the 99th like, I have 100% successful overwinter of 43/43 colonies. 100% it's about mite controll, having young queens and plenty of healthy winter bees. I practice the OTS principles of replacing queens every year. Modified OTS, I should say. I don't requeen for swarming, I requeen to have young queens post soltice, and young queens into the next Spring. It's all about the effort you put in!! God bless, and I don't have shame for the self plug of my YT channel! 🎉❤❤❤❤

    Very cool Fred I just made a great discovery because of your video. I watched for 5 to 10 minutes I didn't see any waggle dancing flight controllers telling the foragers where to fly. It seems they might have been scribbling down cryptic maps on the landing board. They walk out sniffing, feeling and staring at the landing board before taking off. I'm going to run out this week and put canopies over my landing boards so the signals dont wash off! I'm also going to get rid of the short commercial landing board and get something that sticks out a few more inches so they have more runway to draw the maps outside the hive. What a great discovery this totally changes everything. Thanks for your work. We make a great team!🎉 It also explains why they go out the top vent instead of my short bottom board. It also makes good advice not to flip your inner cover too often then and erase their hard work. We might get a Nobel for this. Also probably better to have a nice firm partial section of landing board inside instead of a full screen bottom board so they can lay down tracks. I'm going to append mine now. Holy cow this discovery really opens the world! Thank you thank you so glad to work with you. Go ahead and write it up and publish it please thank you. 50/50 40/60 30/70 somewhere in between, the discovery wouldn't have happened without your passion and hard work.

      PS we can just do the announcement on the initial discovery with a limited abstract and discussion, referencing your video. Think of all the follow on subject research someone can do. I bet in the not too distant future less than a year or two people will be able to reliably mimic and deposit their track mappings on the landing board mechanically or bionically and thus lead them immediately to precise test feed locations in the yard. Holy cow this is going to be amazing fodder for beekeepers both amateur and commercial alike.😢😮😊. P.s. I think I'll smear some radiants with dead bees this week and see what happens. I hope I don't send them on a wild goose chase too far to return. Maybe whatever the extension of the landing board is correlates to 3 miles, so a half inch scent or washboard belly scribble or shine job on a 3" extension would mean there's nectar half a mile away. I wonder what units they think in terms of, metric, imperial, or something wholly undiscovered that's unique, evolutionary, and natural to them. Someone ought to hook up the Neuralink someday.

      @iditarod4081 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Holy cow I can't get over this revelation. This totally makes sense now I just keep watching the video they're all following trail scents before taking off, and sometimes laying scents when they come back. The washboarding is probably when they need to wipe the map clean periodically when the location dries out, and other reasons.

    Such complexity of design,ive come so far in 5 years,many thanks to freds education,style mixed with a bit of humor, im still trying to figure out how the pollen gets packed, so perfectly,...no theres no baskets,or pants, they sure wipe those antenae alot,cant say I saw any drones yet,maybe too soon,I really am facinated by the backwards take offs,like a army of helicopters,and they don't seem to argue,just work their jobs selflessly seemingly,their antenae articulate like hydraulic rams ,and wing attachments like mechanical motors revving up,up, mr dunn some clear details on this one ,creations design with adaptation pre programmed, just waiting to bee discovered, I give credit to the carpenters son

      Corbiculas.

    • @FrederickDunn
      @FrederickDunn  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Those yellow balls are pollen that the bees have collected from floral sources in the environment. They add nectar or honey to the pollen to get it to adhere to their hind legs. The corbicula are where the pollen is carried as mentioned here by Kelly Moore :) It's used inside the hive as a protein source to rear new bees, known as bee-bread.
