Humm! I don't know if I should smile or cry. Definitely, the engine needs a better upgrade; perhaps an LS3. The Corvette engine here may be good for only 200Hp, if lucky
yes, amazing car, but not sure why an old engine was used on a build that tremendous, an LS3 would have been perfect. also, aluminum block is significantly lighter than the old LT1 iron block.
I think he missed the mark a bit on the engine. He should have put together a '59 Chevy mouse motor and maintained its vintage appearance, while updating its performance.
That guy knows how to tastefully modify a car. I bet 9/10 builders would of destroyed the owners “concept” of merging the 190sl & corvette. Thank you sir for not grafting in corvette tail lights or something ridiculous like that. I honestly would rather have this car over a modern SL AMG. Well, On second thought. I’d have both. Lol.
I like the direction they went but they ended up ruining the car's appearance with the modern wheels and interior stereo stupidity. No thoughtful restraint.
I can appreciate an elegant car.. but I can never bring myself to like the massive mercedes emblem. It's gaudy .. just as I never liked the giant vw bus emblem. But I think of the bus as more of a cartoon-ish caricature , so the emblem isn't too bad. But on an elegant classy car, it just doesn't work. Unless you're into advertising your status, or how much money you have, I get it. But that seems douchey, because it appears to show insecurity imo. And it looks like insecurity on the manufacturers pat as well. Like it's worried about not getting enough advertisement.lol. I never liked huge a logo lettering on tailgates, and now giant ones on grills. Instead of it looking like a badge of pride, it looks like you're an idiot, who care more about advertising for a corporation, instead of just appreciating the lines of the car, or the quality. I think it a car is built well, it speaks louder though word of mouth. And has the security to not boast about itself. I know, I went to far.. but it's true. Giant logos are ugly man. I have to wonder if the designers ever wanted to not put the huge emblems on, and if they got heat from the upper management?
Pretty, but just needs a little more class. The speakers and woofers should be hidden. As should that modern head unit. The wheels themselves look odd on this car. Should have made a new wheel with the same design as the original 13's, just up the size. And the engine; oh man, definitely needed to stay Merc...
Omg. Was loving it until I saw the corvette engine
This a hillbilly that speaks German very well but still refuses to put Mustard on their beef franks.
Nooo
you loved the wheels and wacky interior? you need better spectacles, dear sir
Jellybean has done some amazing builds. They are one of the half dozen best autocrafters in Canada, IMO.
Thank's for sharing dennis! Love your show!
I love that car it’s very nice looking
That is a beautiful car
WHOLY HELLA METAL!! That thing is SWEET!
Performance, car's are made to be improved. The car companies can't be as cost effective by far. It's amazing that they put out what they do.
Beautifully done. My only change would be to dress up the vette motor to look like something Mercedes might have done...
Put a Benz Bi-turbo engine in with a nice 400-500 ish Hp...
Awesome build!!
Beautiful car My Uncle had one back in the 1970s and 1980s his was red with red interior.
This is a fitting classic....albeit a restomod!👍
Looks like a replica to me
Ok thats different, and still wonderful to look at. Nice find Dennis

LT1 is 300hp stock
@@drm9979 These vids are 16 years old
Oh yes be great for the Sunday drive
Fantastic except for the chrome wheels lol
Yeah, not a fan of the wheels. Everything else is good
The wheels belong in the back of a high school auto shop dumpster
2008 was a different time! I bet the owner has since realized that they were a mistake.
@@maxthrust976 Ah, did not realize it was from 08. You're probably right. Hopefully they've updated the valve covers too
So much ruined but the wheels are the worst insult. Chip Fooze is the worst offender on this
cool
Gang’sta * mid 90’s corvette engine he wouldve been better off with the original 4 banger
I would have liked a 3.5 MBZ power plant just to keep it Benz. Chevy motors belong in Jags.
Wow Dennis...in Australian...Struth!
What a shame!
This beautiful car should be kept original.
To each their own.

Focal speakers
Dennis said "we'll talk" when offered to drive the benz.... thats like sayin no thanks wtf dennis surely your not too busy for a quick ride!
Actually when I’m shooting an episode, I am too busy. There’s a lot to get done on a very short time.
@@MyClassicCarTV not to mention the time you require to keep your moustache so elegant
Your standard custom car: Corvette engine plus body of your choice....
Don't forget the mustang 2 front clip.

Getting famous off comments day 185, so I can live the dream, live everyday like it’s your last day🤙
Cringe...
I prefer old amercan cars. For example Chevrolet Bel Air. Hemi is beautyful.😁
Period chrome reversed wheels, spider caps and whitewalls could have looked better. They’ll give the car a more period correct hot rod look.
I have Model scale 1:18 mersedes 190 sl. like
I like the direction they went but they ended up ruining the car's appearance with the modern wheels and interior stereo stupidity. No thoughtful restraint.
It was built to the owner’s desires. To each their own.
Ruined it!
