Even though these characters may be “bad”, but some people build them because they can relate to them and like their play style. I know this one person I met who built Aloy because Aloy was a character from a game that she and her late father used to play. It’s not all about the damage, at the end of the day, it’s a game you play to have fun!

I also don't like the fact that claymore characters' attacks are so slow but raising beidou and becoming a beidou main was the best thing ive ever done.

Noelle is one of my best and the most reliable character. I held off raising her for so long but did that around 1st Itto Banner. The new set that came out around that time, made it really worth it. She shields, she heals and she tanks through everything. For me, she's my go-to character even in co-ops because she's so reliable. :') But I see why one would say they'd want to hold off on her because I did that too for so long too. 😊
Honestly there are insane noelle builds out there, but ill be honest, building gorou + yunjin for noelle is a must! Building her and getting high damage is… tedious but everything for the all deserving queen ;v; i personally find it fun atleast!
Noelle and Ningguang are my only two geo characters and I didn't get Ningaling until AR53. 😅 Noelle was my only claymore user too for a while. Now I have Dori and Kaveh, Dori is never getting built but Kaveh is my only other dendro aside from Collei and Nahida so I built him and am working on building Collei. I would've built her a long time ago if I had a decent bow to give her.
Your efforts will pay off when Traveler will obtain Dendro in Sumeru. If you already have them leveled, you can skip straight to talent levels and save quite some resources, unlike with any other Dendro unit whom you would have to level from scratch first :)
Don't. I remember some cn player took noelle into the abyss and they won 3 stars ON A COMPETITION. its just up to you, play who you want and don't listen to anybody
Tbh no hate but you shouldn't make videos about characters if you are not experimented in the game. Many of your advices aren't bad but it's not completly good either. You sound like you got the basics but not far enough to explain what players should do. So maybe if you plan on doing other videos try to get some infos before. Maybe watch others vids idk
I have to agree… This channel should stick to “aesthetic” farming/dailies videos and not go into combat territory, because that’s where it stops being a personal style and starts being misleading. Like the misinformation about Noelle’s healing and etc. The channel’s author doesn’t even level her weapons past 80 and keeps Fischl (the energy queen Fischl) on Fav bow despite having an unused Stringless. I don’t think this is the place to give others battle advice from.
Yeah… Razor and Aloy I agree with but Noelle is an amazing DPS at c6, on par with Itto, Thoma is Wanderer’s best shielder and has the best f2p shield at full stacks and Barbara is a really good healer
did anyone not notice how she is friendship level 10 with all the characters that she regret raising raise. Also I feel like the title is not really the same as the video, I mean your aloy is level 2 and thoma is level 8, i mean seriously, it doesn't look like you even raised them at all, your talents are all 1 and you probaly just slapped a weapon and artifacts on them xD
I get the second point, but the first one can easily be explained. She farms friendship exp for every single character she has even if she's not gonna use them because she wants the namecards. She explained it in the daily farming guide I think. Won't use them in combat but will switch to a team of low level characters before collecting ley line rewards to at least get friendship points for them if anything.

noelle isn't bad as a main dps (in fact I plan to get her last con before finally maining her) but she's simply outclassed as a support. Low shield uptime, solely an on field healer, and does not generate particles on her own. She may be a jack of all trades but she's quite literally a master of none
Ohhh I do not regret building Barbara at all, I main her now!! xD I didn’t really like her at first but she kept coming to me. When she became C6 I decided to build her properly and just, wow. She heals so well and I gave her a 4 piece clam set and the bubble does up to 29k damage! I love her sm!
I agree!! There is so much hate for Barbara but I'm AR 54 and she is still a staple in my teams! I also have her at C6 with 4pc clam and she does lots of off-field healing, hydro application and damage. I love to pop Beidou's ult and then attack with Barbara... heals my whole team plus the electro charged actually takes down big enemies really quick. I'm sure I wouldn't use her as much if I had Kokomi. But until then, she is great.
honestly this is really helpful, though in my opinion.. yes, these characters aren't the best but if you don't have too many characters then you can build any of this. even though these aren't the best characters to build, try building them as best as you can and don't underestimate you're characters !! i used lvl 40 noelle for like a lvl 40+ enemy and she helped me a lot with the shield and her burst. :)
I'm currently nearly 40 and Noelle is still carrying me at level 70! Her healing completely heals, her damage is nice ( more than any other of my charac ) and her shield + any crystalize shield means I can always heal and don't need to dodge or stop. Love it!!
i used to hate it when i kept getting barbara but then there was a time when i needed a healer to beat an archon quest ( i think it was the fight with the two abyss lecters in the chasm ? ) and she was the only reason i managed to survive because i ran out of food 💀💀
I'm confused. Razor does not need that high energy recharge from my experience Using his press E ability 3 times gives him three sigils increasing his ER by a total of 60%. Holding his E after that regains him 15 energy (5 for each sigil). Chances are you can just use 150-160% and have a support or two that gives razor an energy boost once and a while and you will never need to worry about his energy again Sure, his burst costs him 80 energy, but razor does most of his damage from autos anyway. One of the best things about razor imo is that he ISN'T burst dependent. He has consistent damage constantly. Yea sure, his burst ends when you switch out, but that's really not that hard to work around. Superconduct lasts basically for his whole burst duration so you probs only need a character like diona or rosaria and you're good. The actual main problems with razor is that he doesn't have many really good supports, and he gets outmatched at higher levels. Razor at early AR is easily the best 4* main DPS imo because his damage scaling plateaus early, giving him high damage with low investment, but mediocre damage with high investment.
Razor is my main because he's the only good main DPS I've pulled. The only other characters I've pulled are Noelle, Diona, and Sara so he's my main for now unless I pull someone better.
All of these are four stars so im guessing your only real problem is that your not up for high investing in them? I mean i can understand just not liking certain characters,but these characters are just very specific and limited in team comps and from my point of view most people are aware of that. Oh also noelle isnt great with a full defense build unless you have c6.
There are no bad characters, there are bad builds, if you like a character then learn it, invest time in it and even a character, that looks weak in the beginning will become very effective at the end, game simply do not have a single content where you need really strong characters, the only difference is how hard is to build someone, but if you put love in character, then any, absolutely any character will be effective even in the hardest content in the game...
As a Noelle main i have a love-hate relationship with her, just like you said the artifacts are a struggle, i made a new account and in low arcs its hard to get physical artifacts and you cant really make a good team with her. But if you run her as a dps with a geo support like gorou or ningguang it can work out pretty well :)
I use thoma for shield and pyro res (?) on hutao, so he is kinda not a regret for me to upgrade him. I have zhongli but my ning is dps so i needed another geo for her. So, yeah, depends on the team.
i dont plan on having noelle on my team for long just until get a better healer, i also dont regret building her because she carries my team with her shield!
I'm a razor main , and i play him with raiden for recharge and qiqi for cryo effect and it works well by the way thats true , poeple dont really like his playstyle , but for a main razor like myself i finally managed to find a moveset (na na na na Skill => till ult => same) nice video by the way bcs you explain correctly why you regrett ;)
Omg same! I level up razor until level 80 because I didn't have any 5 star or good dps until I got Xiao at AR50. Noelle's fine but building her was really really tedious. Barbara did help me a lot. But now Kokomi replaced her ^^ Now I still regret because I spent my fragile resins and materials farming for em. Now I'm resinless 😂
We have the same Razor and Xiao story except I didn't "quit" Razor! I still use Razor ^^ I also got Xiao at about AR 50 and they're both. They're both Lvl. 90
I’m just gonna put it out here that noelle can take on large amounts of damage and still wipe out bosses. Also when people say don’t use noelle til c6 don’t listen to them, yeah she might get even better but you with enough effort she can be hitting 50k attack easily

Barbara+kuki+nahida is one of the best hyperbloom teams lol. How can you die when u got two awesome healers. Bring cyno, layla, xiangling or zhongli to the team and you'll tear through all of the monsters.
well this is a big yikes- you really compared 5 stars to 4 stars like ofc the 4 stars arent going to be perfect characters noelle doesnt require her burst to heal either like what lmao 😭 i use barbara in spiral abyss floor 11 whenever they put those wolf things that drain your health, barbaras really good for keeping the team alive but just dont use her skill when theres cryo enemies around, getting frozen is rlly her only issue but xingqiu does the same thing-
I personally love Thoma, but I also am not a fan of Raiden so he has the catch on him which is enough to make him burst support. I also have two set tenacity and two set crimson on him so he is also a strong shielder! Of course I know hardly anyone would put Thoma over Raiden or even Xiangling but he's carried me through spiral abyss more times than I can count!

This video is a little misleading imo, half of these characters aren't build/invested in the least & the issues presented seem more like either personal preference or lack of information. I used to main razor for a while as DPS and i always had my burst up even before swapping back into him.. no idea how anyone could have ER issues. Like someone else said though, he doesn't have many supports and if you want to take him to abyss he does need proper investment for that. In overworld he's more than viable with 4pc glad atk/phys dmg/crit and a phys dmg claymore. (he had around 160 ER max and no electro battery for me) As for Thoma: he's not as good as XL in meta but he's not got the same role as her. he's great with my yoimiya on an ER weapon & hp + crit rate build. He also works great with my yelan, to the point where i dont even have time to switch to yoimiya before everything is dead. You also dont have to build him full shieldbot or full dmg, hybrid builds are both easier to farm for and just as good depending on your needs/wants
Everyone shits on Diluc, but I’m a newb and accidentally C6’d my Bennett and I’ve been having a blast with the characters, they compliment each other very well so your consistently applying pyro and dmg buffs. My Xiao might technically do more dmg faster with his burst, but as far as survivability and consistent dmg go, for what I’ve got, they’re doing solid work
So i might be hearing the video wrong on the noelle bit. i might not. But im pretty sure you don't need your ult or burst up to heal. Healing is linked to the shield so as long as the shield is up and active your attacks from noelle have a chance to heal. That being said though I do agree that having the chance to heal it self is rather inconsistent so I can understand the jean swap. I would argue 4pc clam is ok for barbra because the passive makes he ulti a nuke on demand. I most definitely echo your opinion on thoma being difficult to build because he is. Over all the video is very nice, i would like to point out that the wording or the scripting at some points is a little confusing on whether you are talking from your point of view for your account or for the public and everyone else. A good point would be constellations, you didn't talk about them much where as how much constellations a player has would be an incentive to build a character seeing as how some constellation milestones make the character better and much more worthwhile to build. Everyones status on that situation is different and thus would for example see c6 noelle as a solid dps to build. But that little bit aside like I said great video. Playstyle preferences are what they are and at the end of it all genshin is still pve so do what you want and have fun. Thank you for sharing and also thanks for getting me to use the parametric transformer to get rid off my 3k cabbages.
I think it was too much personal opinion from a person that isn't really that much into theorycrafting, she said a lot of wrong things that are mostly a personal preference from a person who don't really understand the game that much (not to shit on her everyone it's free to play as they like and don't be invested in all the math) She basically said that Thoma sucks only because she isn't a xianling with a chunky shield, Barbara's burst is useless because it takes too long but she didn't pointed the fact that in just 3 seconds your entire team is at full health and she said that barbara sucks with clam because clam is good only on kokomi(nothing more far from the truth) Noelle isn't useful, i mean she is kind of right but both in early and late game she can be a jack of all trades and fill every missing role in the party.

Noelle and barbra are worth building unless you have kokomi then barbra is skipable. But esp at low AR barbra is really good cause of thrilling tales and she saves you a ton of food just dont use her agains cryo enemies. As for noelle she does need c6 for her to be really good but when she is good she is really good also before c6 having a psuedo zhongli is really good to have and even later on in abyss having a geo shield on both teams can be great since the lack of reactions.

As a starter player (started playing a month or 2 ago, ar 25 with a lot of exp) who doesn't pull a lot, Noelle has been a huge help to me. Her shield is the only reason my team survives against bosses. But now that Zhongli has his banner if I pull him I will probably start using him more
I'm planning on building all my characters, which is a bit of a pain, unless I'm in the mood for it. The problem with me is I have what people would call very wide preference so I have fallen for every characters design and play style. Now I have set up a system. Highest lvl I can reach so far is 80. I'm going to play a character until I have them built and to friendship lvl 10 and then switch them to a different character so everyone can have a turn :)

Thoma is my only c6 character, because I love him so much. XD I'm also a f2p, so it took a lots of work, and time to save up enough primos to be able to C6 him. ;P Maybe I'm gonna regret it in the future, but honestly without accidentally getting Thoma from the standard banner, I wouldn't be playing Genshin now. :P
clearly everyone has their own opinions and tastes, there could be characters someone likes more than certain others and that’s okay. Personally i think barbara is only good at healing (she heals pretty well tho); however if i had xingqiu he’d be probably the character i’d use the most :’) speaking of aloy, as far as i don’t have any cryo bow characters for me she’s pretty good so i’ll use her sometimes, rosaria is better tho XD but anyway everyone has their opinions so respect 🙌🏻
In reality this video it's not to be taken as an advice, Barbara is a stupid great healer and clam is her currently best set to do some damage in the meantime, razor is the strongest physical dps if not for eula and he doesn't have energy issue Thoma is a decent shielder, all the he doesn't do damage is just not what he was made to do, you can build him as a DPS but it's like building Barbara as a DPS. I think that the creator of this video wanted to do more of a vlog type of thing instead of a real guide, that's what I hope at least
100% agree on Noelle's downsides. The energy issue and slow attack speed are one of the things I dislike the most. I built her to be my main DPS--she's at her best at C6 and I have her at C3--and that's purely because of liking tank and healer characters who can still do decent damage. lol It really does depend on what your playstyle is and which characters you favor. In that sense, there's no bad character, just characters unsuited for certain roles. Good video! As a side note, meta shouldn't be the #1 priority for F2P (those who are intimidated by it, anyway). Seeing other people do TONS of damage and looking back to baby builds of my team had me thinking I was playing incorrectly, but it's about having fun. :)
Razor doesn't have that much energy problem with a favonious teammate, it's easy to build and does a lot of damage, yes his burst doesn't stay if you change him but this is also true for a lot of other great characters. for Noelle i say you are kind of right but she indeed is a one man army in early genshin even if not c6. aloy yes sucks, but don't compare her with Diona, aloy is kind of a DPS, Diona is a support different roles, if you want to play her as a burst DPS you don't play her with blizzard strayer. Thoma gets shitted on but he is a great shielder, if you use him as a burst DPS you are just playing him not as intended, same as with Diona and aloy, don't compare an off field DPS with a shielder it's like saying Barbara is trash because she is not a great DPS. Barbara is a great healer that's all I have to say about her, don't say that unlike kokomi she does a lot of healing, kokomi heals like a beast too. Clam set it's super good for her, it's not made only for kokomi, her burst heals your entire team in 1 second unlike other healers that need very long time to completely heal an entire team, (4 piece lavawalker bennet it's the worst and useless thing you could have done to him)
Honestly one character i regret raising is ganyu, not because shes weak but because shes very boring and i kinda stopped using her a week after i built her
my Itto likes his R3 Whiteblind. it's a good and accessible weapon and i will not hesitate to get it to R5 (if the game would only be so nice to give me billets)
so i level 90 my amber. at first i really regret it because they did so little damage. after looking at the artifacts and changing them it was so much better. but i used all my arrows, talent books, lamp grass on their which i also needed for diona :/
Aloy imo is so good, I started maining her after I got her and she is genually so good. My highest crit with her is 956K I feel people do hate on her a lot which is understandable if she isn't built right but that is my take 🤞
I build everyone. Enough time and effort, and you'll be able to use any four characters you like whenever you want, though it took well over a year of dedication to get my babies up this far. I'm talkin' Keqing, Xinyan, Diona, Gorou comp. Even tHaT has become viable after all this time.
Just build anyone, just as long as it's good and is over 1 dmg. I can see that claymore characters are very slow but you'll get use to them, been maining chongyun and itto for a few months and they are fun to play!
My Noelle artifacts are life, damage, defense, defense % XD unuseful on another char but is fine on she. I like it, specially I use her on Inazuma dueling samurais XD. My Barbara, heal and make all wet, but also break the shield for the pyro mages. She was the one killed a lot, A LOT of regisvid pyro to get materials for my Hu Tao. I mean, you build what you have, I just have 2 Hydro chars, a Barbara C4 and a Xingchiu but he doesn't heal, I got yesterday a Jean but my main attack is dual pyro, I don't have nothing to break the shield on the mages if I use her, my only cryo is Kaeya, but I dont find a good use on my team. Barbara weting all at least alow to use vaporize, maybe not the best, but I can use it as same the skill from Hu Tao, she loss HP by use it, the ring from Barbara heals and give a little bonus for the damage. Because my Barbara is a Attack first heal later, she is not full HP, she have one of the highest raw attack on all my characters. May be a little weak on the skill but work fine for me on a secondary role. As AR43 I just started to get 5* artifacts so I will need time to improve sets for another characters, but that need a lot of resources, maybe I just will wait to see if I get an useful character on the whishes. But now, my team could not be the fastest killing everything on one tap, but at least I survive the missions. You may say "there are better options" and yes, but I don't have more options when I build them. im a noelle main!! noelle has carried my account ever since ive built her, and the addition of itto's artifact set, gorou/yunjin and redhorn if ur a whale has made her insane. obviously, c6 makes her more viable as a dps, but she can still do damage before that :) the only issue i have is she struggles with energy so u need a battery

On the negative (by this i mean, not much people really utilized her, and i know more barbara users than amber - not main - just barbara was useful to them for a period of their genshin game and was there in their party than amber, and they aren't even mobile users) since before. But hey, whatevs. Your opinion. Im just shocked she's here. I did expect Aloy and Thoma, but not Noelle and Barbara. Razor is... Meh. He had many mainers before, but that was it. Havent heard much about people using him now, unlike Barbara and Noelle, can still find people using them.
educate yourself and trust your guts. you'll only feel regrets if the decision you've made is based on other's opinions and what "they" want you to do, not what "you" want to do also, if we're gonna wait for the supposed better characters in the future, then why not play, say, 2 years from now then? better focus on what you have now and make them work if you like them. after all, 5 star chars doesn't fall down from heaven. i'd rather make what I have work than salivate on characters I don't feel like playing 🙃 build the characters your want, not what others want

i don't regret raising any characters because i just don't see the point🤷just like i don't see the point in trying not to waste resources when you can refarm the same amount of them in a week of doing leylines. not like i, being an endgame player, have something more fun to do than to raise neglected characters, upgrade them and put them into experimental teams. i have lvl 90 such characters as lisa, thoma, razor, aloy and lvl10 friendship with all of them. i don't necessarily still use them everyday, but they're nice to look at
if u dont have itto or dont want pull itto then noelle c6 is best to build and worth againts annoying wolf enemy that drain ur HP in Spiral Abyss specially if u have albedo, no actually u need albedo for more DMG and battery for noelle in trio Geo team with gorou.

Honestly there are insane noelle builds out there, but ill be honest, building gorou + yunjin for noelle is a must! Building her and getting high damage is… tedious but everything for the all deserving queen ;v; i personally find it fun atleast!

Noelle and Ningguang are my only two geo characters and I didn't get Ningaling until AR53. 😅 Noelle was my only claymore user too for a while. Now I have Dori and Kaveh, Dori is never getting built but Kaveh is my only other dendro aside from Collei and Nahida so I built him and am working on building Collei. I would've built her a long time ago if I had a decent bow to give her.

Your efforts will pay off when Traveler will obtain Dendro in Sumeru. If you already have them leveled, you can skip straight to talent levels and save quite some resources, unlike with any other Dendro unit whom you would have to level from scratch first :)

I have to agree… This channel should stick to “aesthetic” farming/dailies videos and not go into combat territory, because that’s where it stops being a personal style and starts being misleading. Like the misinformation about Noelle’s healing and etc. The channel’s author doesn’t even level her weapons past 80 and keeps Fischl (the energy queen Fischl) on Fav bow despite having an unused Stringless. I don’t think this is the place to give others battle advice from.

Yeah… Razor and Aloy I agree with but Noelle is an amazing DPS at c6, on par with Itto, Thoma is Wanderer’s best shielder and has the best f2p shield at full stacks and Barbara is a really good healer
did anyone not notice how she is friendship level 10 with all the characters that she regret raising raise. Also I feel like the title is not really the same as the video, I mean your aloy is level 2 and thoma is level 8, i mean seriously, it doesn't look like you even raised them at all, your talents are all 1 and you probaly just slapped a weapon and artifacts on them xD
I get the second point, but the first one can easily be explained. She farms friendship exp for every single character she has even if she's not gonna use them because she wants the namecards. She explained it in the daily farming guide I think. Won't use them in combat but will switch to a team of low level characters before collecting ley line rewards to at least get friendship points for them if anything.

noelle isn't bad as a main dps (in fact I plan to get her last con before finally maining her) but she's simply outclassed as a support. Low shield uptime, solely an on field healer, and does not generate particles on her own. She may be a jack of all trades but she's quite literally a master of none
Ohhh I do not regret building Barbara at all, I main her now!! xD I didn’t really like her at first but she kept coming to me. When she became C6 I decided to build her properly and just, wow. She heals so well and I gave her a 4 piece clam set and the bubble does up to 29k damage! I love her sm!
I agree!! There is so much hate for Barbara but I'm AR 54 and she is still a staple in my teams! I also have her at C6 with 4pc clam and she does lots of off-field healing, hydro application and damage. I love to pop Beidou's ult and then attack with Barbara... heals my whole team plus the electro charged actually takes down big enemies really quick. I'm sure I wouldn't use her as much if I had Kokomi. But until then, she is great.

even though these aren't the best characters to build, try building them as best as you can and don't underestimate you're characters !! i used lvl 40 noelle for like a lvl 40+

I'm currently nearly 40 and Noelle is still carrying me at level 70! Her healing completely heals, her damage is nice ( more than any other of my charac ) and her shield + any crystalize shield means I can always heal and don't need to dodge or stop. Love it!!
i used to hate it when i kept getting barbara but then there was a time when i needed a healer to beat an archon quest ( i think it was the fight with the two abyss lecters in the chasm ? ) and she was the only reason i managed to survive because i ran out of food 💀💀

Using his press E ability 3 times gives him three sigils increasing his ER by a total of 60%. Holding his E after that regains him 15 energy (5 for each sigil). Chances are you can just use 150-160% and have a support or two that gives razor an energy boost once and a while and you will never need to worry about his energy again
Sure, his burst costs him 80 energy, but razor does most of his damage from autos anyway. One of the best things about razor imo is that he ISN'T burst dependent. He has consistent damage constantly.
Yea sure, his burst ends when you switch out, but that's really not that hard to work around. Superconduct lasts basically for his whole burst duration so you probs only need a character like diona or rosaria and you're good.
The actual main problems with razor is that he doesn't have many really good supports, and he gets outmatched at higher levels. Razor at early AR is easily the best 4* main DPS imo because his damage scaling plateaus early, giving him high damage with low investment, but mediocre damage with high investment.

Razor is my main because he's the only good main DPS I've pulled. The only other characters I've pulled are Noelle, Diona, and Sara so he's my main for now unless I pull someone better.
All of these are four stars so im guessing your only real problem is that your not up for high investing in them? I mean i can understand just not liking certain characters,but these characters are just very specific and limited in team comps and from my point of view most people are aware of that. Oh also noelle isnt great with a full defense build unless you have c6.
There are no bad characters, there are bad builds, if you like a character then learn it, invest time in it and even a character, that looks weak in the beginning will become very effective at the end, game simply do not have a single content where you need really strong characters, the only difference is how hard is to build someone, but if you put love in character, then any, absolutely any character will be effective even in the hardest content in the game...
As a Noelle main i have a love-hate relationship with her, just like you said the artifacts are a struggle, i made a new account and in low arcs its hard to get physical artifacts and you cant really make a good team with her. But if you run her as a dps with a geo support like gorou or ningguang it can work out pretty well :)

I use thoma for shield and pyro res (?) on hutao, so he is kinda not a regret for me to upgrade him. I have zhongli but my ning is dps so i needed another geo for her. So, yeah, depends on the team.
i dont plan on having noelle on my team for long just until get a better healer, i also dont regret building her because she carries my team with her shield!
I'm a Razor DPS and he's carrying my team, even though I do have plenty of 5 stars :) I like him a lot and i did built him quite well I'd say (f2p)
I'm a razor main , and i play him with raiden for recharge and qiqi for cryo effect and it works well

Omg same! I level up razor until level 80 because I didn't have any 5 star or good dps until I got Xiao at AR50. Noelle's fine but building her was really really tedious. Barbara did help me a lot. But now Kokomi replaced her ^^

We have the same Razor and Xiao story except I didn't "quit" Razor! I still use Razor ^^ I also got Xiao at about AR 50 and they're both. They're both Lvl. 90

Barbara+kuki+nahida is one of the best hyperbloom teams lol. How can you die when u got two awesome healers. Bring cyno, layla, xiangling or zhongli to the team and you'll tear through all of the monsters.

i use barbara in spiral abyss floor 11 whenever they put those wolf things that drain your health, barbaras really good for keeping the team alive but just dont use her skill when theres cryo enemies around, getting frozen is rlly her only issue but xingqiu does the same thing-
I personally love Thoma, but I also am not a fan of Raiden so he has the catch on him which is enough to make him burst support. I also have two set tenacity and two set crimson on him so he is also a strong shielder! Of course I know hardly anyone would put Thoma over Raiden or even Xiangling but he's carried me through spiral abyss more times than I can count!

This video is a little misleading imo, half of these characters aren't build/invested in the least & the issues presented seem more like either personal preference or lack of information.
I used to main razor for a while as DPS and i always had my burst up even before swapping back into him.. no idea how anyone could have ER issues. Like someone else said though, he doesn't have many supports and if you want to take him to abyss he does need proper investment for that. In overworld he's more than viable with 4pc glad atk/phys dmg/crit and a phys dmg claymore. (he had around 160 ER max and no electro battery for me)
As for Thoma: he's not as good as XL in meta but he's not got the same role as her. he's great with my yoimiya on an ER weapon & hp + crit rate build. He also works great with my yelan, to the point where i dont even have time to switch to yoimiya before everything is dead. You also dont have to build him full shieldbot or full dmg, hybrid builds are both easier to farm for and just as good depending on your needs/wants
They're not really bad characters, but I also regret building Venti and Childe. I just prefer Kazuha or Jean to Venti and don't use Childe very often.
Honestly my Noelle doe 35k and when her shield breaks she can do upto 60k

Everyone shits on Diluc, but I’m a newb and accidentally C6’d my Bennett and I’ve been having a blast with the characters, they compliment each other very well so your consistently applying pyro and dmg buffs. My Xiao might technically do more dmg faster with his burst, but as far as survivability and consistent dmg go, for what I’ve got, they’re doing solid work
So i might be hearing the video wrong on the noelle bit. i might not. But im pretty sure you don't need your ult or burst up to heal. Healing is linked to the shield so as long as the shield is up and active your attacks from noelle have a chance to heal. That being said though I do agree that having the chance to heal it self is rather inconsistent so I can understand the jean swap. I would argue 4pc clam is ok for barbra because the passive makes he ulti a nuke on demand. I most definitely echo your opinion on thoma being difficult to build because he is. Over all the video is very nice, i would like to point out that the wording or the scripting at some points is a little confusing on whether you are talking from your point of view for your account or for the public and everyone else. A good point would be constellations, you didn't talk about them much where as how much constellations a player has would be an incentive to build a character seeing as how some constellation milestones make the character better and much more worthwhile to build. Everyones status on that situation is different and thus would for example see c6 noelle as a solid dps to build. But that little bit aside like I said great video. Playstyle preferences are what they are and at the end of it all genshin is still pve so do what you want and have fun. Thank you for sharing and also thanks for getting me to use the parametric transformer to get rid off my 3k cabbages.
I think it was too much personal opinion from a person that isn't really that much into theorycrafting, she said a lot of wrong things that are mostly a personal preference from a person who don't really understand the game that much (not to shit on her everyone it's free to play as they like and don't be invested in all the math)
She basically said that Thoma sucks only because she isn't a xianling with a chunky shield, Barbara's burst is useless because it takes too long but she didn't pointed the fact that in just 3 seconds your entire team is at full health and she said that barbara sucks with clam because clam is good only on kokomi(nothing more far from the truth) Noelle isn't useful, i mean she is kind of right but both in early and late game she can be a jack of all trades and fill every missing role in the party.

Noelle and barbra are worth building unless you have kokomi then barbra is skipable. But esp at low AR barbra is really good cause of thrilling tales and she saves you a ton of food just dont use her agains cryo enemies. As for noelle she does need c6 for her to be really good but when she is good she is really good also before c6 having a psuedo zhongli is really good to have and even later on in abyss having a geo shield on both teams can be great since the lack of reactions.

As a starter player (started playing a month or 2 ago, ar 25 with a lot of exp) who doesn't pull a lot, Noelle has been a huge help to me. Her shield is the only reason my team survives against bosses. But now that Zhongli has his banner if I pull him I will probably start using him more

I'm planning on building all my characters, which is a bit of a pain, unless I'm in the mood for it. The problem with me is I have what people would call very wide preference so I have fallen for every characters design and play style. Now I have set up a system. Highest lvl I can reach so far is 80. I'm going to play a character until I have them built and to friendship lvl 10 and then switch them to a different character so everyone can have a turn :)

clearly everyone has their own opinions and tastes, there could be characters someone likes more than certain others and that’s okay. Personally i think barbara is only good at healing (she heals pretty well tho); however if i had xingqiu he’d be probably the character i’d use the most :’)

Thoma is a decent shielder, all the he doesn't do damage is just not what he was made to do, you can build him as a DPS but it's like building Barbara as a DPS.

100% agree on Noelle's downsides. The energy issue and slow attack speed are one of the things I dislike the most. I built her to be my main DPS--she's at her best at C6 and I have her at C3--and that's purely because of liking tank and healer characters who can still do decent damage. lol It really does depend on what your playstyle is and which characters you favor. In that sense, there's no bad character, just characters unsuited for certain roles. Good video!
As a side note, meta shouldn't be the #1 priority for F2P (those who are intimidated by it, anyway). Seeing other people do TONS of damage and looking back to baby builds of my team had me thinking I was playing incorrectly, but it's about having fun. :)
Razor doesn't have that much energy problem with a favonious teammate, it's easy to build and does a lot of damage, yes his burst doesn't stay if you change him but this is also true for a lot of other great characters.
for Noelle i say you are kind of right but she indeed is a one man army in early genshin even if not c6.
aloy yes sucks, but don't compare her with Diona, aloy is kind of a DPS, Diona is a support different roles, if you want to play her as a burst DPS you don't play her with blizzard strayer.
Thoma gets shitted on but he is a great shielder, if you use him as a burst DPS you are just playing him not as intended, same as with Diona and aloy, don't compare an off field DPS with a shielder it's like saying Barbara is trash because she is not a great DPS.
Barbara is a great healer that's all I have to say about her, don't say that unlike kokomi she does a lot of healing, kokomi heals like a beast too. Clam set it's super good for her, it's not made only for kokomi, her burst heals your entire team in 1 second unlike other healers that need very long time to completely heal an entire team, (4 piece lavawalker bennet it's the worst and useless thing you could have done to him)
Honestly one character i regret raising is ganyu, not because shes weak but because shes very boring and i kinda stopped using her a week after i built her

I build everyone. Enough time and effort, and you'll be able to use any four characters you like whenever you want, though it took well over a year of dedication to get my babies up this far. I'm talkin' Keqing, Xinyan, Diona, Gorou comp. Even tHaT has become viable after all this time.
Just build anyone, just as long as it's good and is over 1 dmg. I can see that claymore characters are very slow but you'll get use to them, been maining chongyun and itto for a few months and they are fun to play!
My Noelle artifacts are life, damage, defense, defense % XD unuseful on another char but is fine on she. I like it, specially I use her on Inazuma dueling samurais XD.
My Barbara, heal and make all wet, but also break the shield for the pyro mages. She was the one killed a lot, A LOT of regisvid pyro to get materials for my Hu Tao.
I mean, you build what you have, I just have 2 Hydro chars, a Barbara C4 and a Xingchiu but he doesn't heal, I got yesterday a Jean but my main attack is dual pyro, I don't have nothing to break the shield on the mages if I use her, my only cryo is Kaeya, but I dont find a good use on my team. Barbara weting all at least alow to use vaporize, maybe not the best, but I can use it as same the skill from Hu Tao, she loss HP by use it, the ring from Barbara heals and give a little bonus for the damage.
Because my Barbara is a Attack first heal later, she is not full HP, she have one of the highest raw attack on all my characters.
May be a little weak on the skill but work fine for me on a secondary role.
As AR43 I just started to get 5* artifacts so I will need time to improve sets for another characters, but that need a lot of resources, maybe I just will wait to see if I get an useful character on the whishes. But now, my team could not be the fastest killing everything on one tap, but at least I survive the missions. You may say "there are better options" and yes, but I don't have more options when I build them.

im a noelle main!! noelle has carried my account ever since ive built her, and the addition of itto's artifact set, gorou/yunjin and redhorn if ur a whale has made her insane. obviously, c6 makes her more viable as a dps, but she can still do damage before that :) the only issue i have is she struggles with energy so u need a battery
also, unless u like a challenge, dont go physical noelle as she mentioned in the video

On the negative (by this i mean, not much people really utilized her, and i know more barbara users than amber - not main - just barbara was useful to them for a period of their genshin game and was there in their party than amber, and they aren't even mobile users) since before.

i don't regret raising any characters because i just don't see the point🤷just like i don't see the point in trying not to waste resources when you can refarm the same amount of them in a week of doing leylines. not like i, being an endgame player, have something more fun to do than to raise neglected characters, upgrade them and put them into experimental teams. i have lvl 90 such characters as lisa, thoma, razor, aloy and lvl10 friendship with all of them. i don't necessarily still use them everyday, but they're nice to look at
if u dont have itto or dont want pull itto then noelle c6 is best to build and worth againts annoying wolf enemy that drain ur HP in Spiral Abyss specially if u have albedo, no actually u need albedo for more DMG and battery for noelle in trio Geo team with gorou.

But Barbara is terrible, if you want healer Qiqi and Kokomi would solve the problems, even though you will get more damage with these characters than Barbara!
