The only other band that I can think of that makes riffs as good is Lamb Of God. But then again I am just getting back into guitar and metal for the first time in about 5 or 6 years..
My first show was As I Lay Dying. Saw them in December. What an epic night! I've been to a few other shows since. They just announced a tour white whitechapel and shadow of Intent. So glad I'll see them in June! 2 nights back to back !
I remember first starting out learning guitar and discovering drop c, it's the only tuning I enjoy on 6 strings, if I play in drop d or standard I just feel totally uninspired and I dont enjoy playing as much
Great video! AILD have too many great riffs! The Darkest Nights is still my favourite. The whole song is full of quality riffs. Meaning in Tragedy, The Truth of My Perception and The Sound of Truth are some other great songs.
