My apologies for the later upload - I will be reading and responding to your thoughts here in the comments, feel free to share your views. I’m a firm believer in not kicking a group when it’s down but that was unacceptable today. One more thing - you probably won’t have noticed but the video is in a slightly reduced quality this week - I’ll sort that for after Christmas! Enjoy the festive season with your friends and family!💙
Sunderland fan here. To me it seems like Pompey have an indentical season every year in League One. Have spells of looking capable of finishing in the top two, pick up games in hand, have some dodgy spells and finish in or just out of the playoffs. It must be driving you lot mad.
Four nil written all over it is always a fair assessment of Pompey games and thanks for making it . Wishing you a Happy Christmas and here's to a much happier new year .
You didn’t let the side down Tom, excellent coverage as always. I really liked the pre match bit. We fight on and thank you for all your hard work. Great to have Ollie back.
We took the young grandsons for their first match yesterday. The 5 year old doesn’t want to go again, the 8 year old is more philosophical. They can discuss their dire first game when they’re my age! Like your channel and insightful / fair analysis.
I admire you Tom and Andrew, like so many great supporters, back our club and try to remain positive....this isn't a blip, the times I've watched the team show a team without direction. The belief has gone from the players, they don't play as a team. I can no longer listen to Danny's pre or post match interviews, they're just empty words ☹ I want to be positive, but our team look like relegation fodder.
I hope that Fournilwrittenalloverit can still keep you invested and interested Nick! The lack of direction that you mention is a real worry for me too and it seems incredibly difficult to see a change of our fortunes. Happy Christmas to you and your family!
Thanks Tom and Andrew, have a great Christmas yourselves 🙂👍 Our play and results just hurt though, I'd give up any presents for our team to go on a run.....PUP, please !
Another great vlog again, Tom. I have to agree with you that I can't remember Fratton Park emptying like that before the final whistle. It really summed up the fans reaction to that dire performance.
I believe not involving Sean Raggett was a tactical switch, I think it may be looked at as an oversight with hindsight. Thank yo-yo for your kind words about the video Barry, have a great Christmas!
From an MK fan was expecting to get battered as we have been awful, also your second loss at home in the league this year as we beat you last season in January UTF
Tom well done mate ,again another honest from the heart opinion 👏. We were there to see that and .there's no hiding from not just this game but Wycombe was the same .It's gone beyond an injury issue. Questions have to be asked from The top to the bottom. Cheer for another video mate .Pup
The silence from the owners shows the complete contempt they have for our football club and the amazing fans. They are only in this for the property! Cowley out NOW !
There used to be a saying in football "money cant buy you success" well not any more! unless the Eishers put in over £30 million for Championship players we could be stuck in div.1 for some time
Last home win in the league was on September 3rd. Beaten one team since (and they were in the bottom four) at which point we reached 25pts. Three months on we have 29pts. Relegation form. Nice guy or not, he appears well out of his depth. I'll admit I've never fully been on board with him from the moment of that last game of the season against Accrington when they were in temporary charge and the team fell well short of what was needed in one of the most abject displays akin to what Jackett had been serving up,. At the time I thought ok, maybe it's just this group of players are not good enough. Now with a virtually new squad nothing I've seen since in the season and a half has convinced me he's the man to take us up. Nothing else to say really other than it's time to go.
annoying result i couldn't make it down to fratton park today but i'm coming for the ipswich game and the charlton game this was a great video tom despite the 2 nil loss keep up the great videos and merry christmas to you too tom have a great christmas hopefully see you at fratton park on the 29th play up pompey 💙
Ahh don’t worry Edie you didn’t miss anything worth watching! I’m glad you’re still enjoying watching the videos. Have a great Christmas and I look forward to seeing you at the next few home games. Play up Pompey!
I travelled a total of 6 hours both ways 12 hours altogether you to rail strikes mist first half we play bloody awful I wish I'd stayed at home in the warm the worst performance I've seen under Cowley I might get a bit of stick for this but I felt like I was watching jacket ball again
We play nice football with no end product. New owners imminent so hopefully that will change our fortunes. Best of luck to Pompey hopefully things turn for you soon👍
The Cowleys have had 3 transfer windows to put together a team to give us a chance to get out of this division. On paper we have a squad capable of doing that, yet we are no further forward than when Jackett left. Now Danny is talking about another revamp of the team in January. With the players we have out of contract at the end of the season, this continual state of change disrupts any chance of a settled squad, which is required to achieve what the fans want. If a change is being considered at manager/head coach level, it needs to happen now.
You are spot on with what you’ve said - this group of players have all the attributes and talent of a promotion gaining side! January gives an opportunity for fresh ideas to be implemented under a transfer window, so you would have thought that would be the time. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to leave your thoughts.
We have been shocking since the defeat to ipswich (with the exeption of cup games), as soon as the unbeaten run was over the confidence went with it and Danny has not been able to instill it back in the team, we are depressingly slow and sideways with the occasional long ball lobbed over (then lost) from the back to the front everything is being played too slowly and allowing teams time to press, Dale and Mingi were the only 2 out there today that can be proud and know they had a good go of it, also How Griffiths won the 'player of the match' after shipping 2 goals is so mad i actually laughed
Agree with all of this, albeit I don't think Mingi should be jn the team if Lowery or Morrell is fit. I thought Koroma had a better game today. A new keeper is one of the priorities for me in January. The first goal is clearly his to claim after travelling a distance and landing about 3 yards off his goal line. Not coming for crosses, watching the ball hit his woodwork or watching the ball go past him is a common occurrence, He has the 5th worst save percentage in L1 from 25 keepers and we should be 5th on expected goals against, but actually 12th on goals conceded per match.
I think Griffiths prevented the game from ending 3 or 4-0 to MK Dons, he pulled off two good saves one on one. But I agree, Dale and Mingi had some great link up moments in the first half and shone as the standout performers, perhaps the only two deserving of any credit. Thanks for watching, and have a great Christmas.
Today was the first time in years that I've felt angry watching Pompey. A lot of people near me left 65-75 minutes in, then most of the rest left on 82 mins when Koroma went down. I've never seen that at FP., but perhaps not surprising given the performances since the Ipswich defeat. Presumably there's not long left for Danny to turn things around.
It is very uncommon at Fratton but sadly something that seems to happen a lot more often than it ever did. Felt like a papa johns trophy game by the end of it! Thank you for watching, have a great Christmas.
Unless the team has one hell of a comeback on Boxing Day and in January, I can't see how Danny Cowley's position is tenable anymore. The way the majority of the team played, he looks like he's lost the dressing room. And now he's lost the supporters too. We've been poor for weeks, in every part of the pitch. The goalie, defence, midfield and strikers have been shocking lately. On paper, we have a fantastic side. But the game's played on pitches, and we've leaving our quality, team spirit and work ethic in the dressing room. I desperately hope Danny manages to turn this around. I would love nothing more than for him to pull this out of the fire, and for us to go on a great run, really start 2023 with a bang. But if he doesn't fix this fast, we need to find someone who can before the season is unsalvageable.
Ok, i was sold, i bought into the Cowleys, thought they were "it",.. turns out I was just 2 letters short! ,.. I fully heard, ate, and digested their rallying words, inspirational chat and "great fans" platitudes, ..a season that , aside from Sheff wednesday up first, held few crunch ties,... the ones that were pivotal, were lost, or drawn, Ipswich, Peterborough ( or Plymouth, both so dull I can't be bothered to differentiate).. I bought into the Cowleys hook line and sinker,..... we sat top, which covered over a multitude of mismanagement... if Notts County had our first 7 games, they'd have sat top,...we all bought a lie, a well packaged, slick,.." this is a massive club" falsehood,.. for all the soundbytes, platitudes, and excuses, the stark reality is, The Cowleys are, a couple of chancers, intractible and stolid in their " P.E teachers made good " stance,.. out of depth, out of ideas, and hopefully out of time,.. I , like you guys , loved loved loved when they came, approachable, confident and positive,.. but, we were sold, sold a nonsense,.. unable to change, adapt or progress,. They have proved to be intractible in formation, and change,.. and , in fairness, if we are looking for Lincloln City "Star managers" to reignite Pompey, we're done,..we shouldnt be bargain basement buying for managers like this!!!,.. make Alain Peron look like DIDIER DESHAMPS,..no, Pompey deserve better,.. they said, on arrival, " give us three transfer windows to show what we've got",...ok,..we did, and now yes, I see, you give pithy little soundbytes, do a funny training segment for soccer am with Jimmy Bullard, and promise lots, deliver little,.. it is Andrew,...and I want this as tomorrows live feed title " have Pompey fans been sold the Emporers new clothes?" Because, I feel we have, really,.. its not that I have any problem with the two guys, as stated, I really lapped it up, "great city, 12th man, top atmosphere" etc,.. but, they are not viable, the last tennant had to have a disaster live on TV vs Salford to get booted, so these 2 are possibly safe for another season,... were we sold a dummy, a big double, sibling saga dummy? , ( Btw this is Aaron Rose R.G.N using mothers phone due to internet shutout in Emsworth) keep up the great work, makes Alex Griffin look like a drunken amateur Pup
Wow what a comment that is. Thank you for your such intricately put reflections on what we have in front of us. I’m sure you can appreciate that it would be deemed unprofessional and probably actually unhelpful of us to come out on such a wide reaching platform and publicly call for the manager to go. That is why we put our faith in people like you to share your thoughts. The line I take and the one I will continue to pursue is that we are judging the management and players on a 19 game start to a 46 game season, and we might well be having a completely different conversation by the time game 46 comes around. That is of course a very positive standpoint to take, but I feel like it’s quite a sensible way to look at it. That by no means negates the unacceptable nature of recent weeks, most widely manifested by yesterday afternoon. Thank you very much for your support on the channel, I’ll reserve comment on the last part of your message. Wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas, and here’s to a happier festive period and New Year with Pompey!
I came 10000 miles from Australia for that, hired a car from london because the train strike, froze, but that was bad. Still I got to go to the place I love. PUP
The Eisners need to decide whether they want to provide the appropriate level of investment to give this club a good chance of getting out of this league. The current budget is obviously not enough. There are big expectations here and we need a manager and squad that can cope with that high level of expectation and the extra pressure it brings. It’s all very well thinking that other teams have got promoted on a small budget so we can do the same. But teams like Wycombe, Rotherham and Burton never had to play in front of 18,000 every home game and didn’t have to deal with the pressure that Pompey players are under. It’s no coincidence that Pompey only got themselves out of League Two when they appointed a manager who’d already won promotion at that level and brought in a load of players with experience of playing at a higher level and in front of bigger crowds. My message to the Eisners is you need to seriously review your strategy on the playing side if your goal is promotion because it will never work unless you invest in the personnel who can handle the pressure. If you’re not that bothered about promotion then sell the club because it won’t end well for you.
Something needs to change, I hate being negative about Pompey. Today was one of the worst experiences I have seen at Fratton Park. It makes me really sad seeing Pompey like it. The atmosphere has gone and the football has been boring. I miss seeing Fratton Park rocking.
And it wasn’t too long ago that is was rocking! Massive concerns at the moment with the state of play, let’s hope we see a turnaround sharpish. Thanks for watching.
When we expect the worse, Pompey produce a good result. So I expect a win at Exeter and a draw with Ipswich. Sadly, Charlton always beat us. If that sequence of results happens, it should buy the Cowleys a bit more time to turn things around. The trip to Tottenham is to be enjoyed, so it is the matches afterwards that are crucial.
Can't keep going one down, so many games we've conceded first this season, earlier we were able to turn those into draws or wins but no longer. Considering the starting 11 by and large are the same team that were winning games in August and September it's shocking to see the regression in this team. The real killer, that the hope at the start of the season that this could be it has evaporated into the winter nights air. Cowley has done a lot to bring the club and fans together but this isn't his first very poor run of form with us and unless we get at least 6 points from the next 3 games I think he should go.
Hi Tom coming over to watch Ipswich and Charlton game ld love to catch up if possible.hopefully the team can turn things around .any time I watch Pompey on I follow or live they generally play bad always enjoy your videos take care merry Christmas Lawrence
Hi Lawrence, you will know where to find us by now, where we usually do the interviews outside the Fratton End. Look forward to seeing you, hopefully we can put on some good showings for you!
Let’s avoid overly emotional responses. This team are not good enough to achieve the ambitions of the fans who pay to watch the games. The management team are not at this moment in time good enough either. But as we have owners, it is up to them to decide if what they are supplying for everybody’s hard earned cash to watch is acceptable or poor value. My opinion is it has rarely been worse value for money in my 50+ years as a Pompey fan.
I’m sure it is hard to imagine more than a handful of moments where the football has been less enjoyable, and it looks like an almighty task to turn things around. Time will tell us whether or not this administration can do it!
Portsmouth Football Club is too big a job for the Cowley's. They are lower league managers with lower league tactics. Every player in our team would be a star player in another league one team. It's not good enough and I think he's had his time. Get rid of him now and bring in someone like Chris Wilder or Leam Richardson as they know how to build a promotion team!
I love Danny as a person, but he has to go. His tactics aren’t working and you can’t be losing at home to a team in the relegation zone. I’m sorry but this is it
Has Cowley LOST the dressing Room?? No player seemed to care at what was happening. Too many players just NOT good enough. It seems that the opening run of success was a blip...and now the reality is setting in!!
Bad performance, I didn’t go because my grandmother had passed and my family weren’t there either as they were with my Nan during her last moments, I was told just after MK scored. Let’s hope for a good January transfer window and a great Christmas. Come on you blues
@@Fournilwrittenalloveritthanks, you and Andrew always add an extra bit of enjoyment to a match day. Even after a bad result. Keep up the good content👍
Always enjoy watching you guys, that game was another tough watch feels like a glide path over a number of weeks into negativity, left Wycombe feeling we were not willing to work as hard as our opponent, felt the same Saturday. While the Manager is always the most responsible, collectively the players are also hugely responsible, if it's not going our way work bloody hard and earn some luck, fans will respect that, but won't respect what I have watched recently.
That wasn't a pleasant afternoon on Saturday, your video captures it well Tom. Most fans have the same feeling that we need to play much quicker. The 3 centre backs formation just doesn't work, Pack doesn't look the same player since returning and there is so little service into Bishop. Koroma looked sharper, Dale always looks sharp but not much comes of it sadly. Mingi has to be given freedom to make those driving runs that we occasionally see and why do our injured players seem to fall into a black hole and are not seen for weeks? Much for the Cowleys to ponder as the home crowd won't take another performance like that.
Spot on with your comments there Tony, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and reflections. I feel as if the back 3 is more enforced than out of choice, given both Rafferty and Swanson are unavailable, and the only other suitable option in that position would be Liam Vincent. As a result we look disjointed and mismatched. Big 3 or 4 weeks incoming, defining certainly. Have a fantastic Christmas, and here’s hoping for a happier festive period and New Year for us!
Absolutely gutted with the result, can feel the unusual atmosphere through the screen. I just think Cowleys need to work lots of things to deliver positive performance in these coming days. Finger cross for the coming packed games. Merry Christmas Tom and Andrew and PUP!
Yeah from start to finish the atmosphere was strange and felt very abnormal - I’m glad that’s been conveyed nicely to you. Have a fantastic Christmas and thank you for your continued support on the channel.
Time for people to realize that Eisner's bought the club as you would an old house that one renovates to make a profit. They have no interest in the football and will not invest in the team. By the way what is the purpose of the sporing director that we have? what exactly does he do other than he will come out soon to calm the fans down! Total bunch of crap! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
Starting to feel the norm, that we go 1-0 down these days. Tough schedule over Christmas, which isn’t looking too promising going by todays performance. Seemed that everything that could go wrong, did !. God only knows what the answer is.
Tricky to put your finger on exactly what it is that’s causing all the misery, I feel it is a combination of a number of factors contributing overall to a poor showing, and that’s been a case for a little while now. Thanks for watching Matty!
I’m sure you will have seen us in adverse conditions before such as this Tony, perhaps this might be one of the low moments that you can remember. Thank you for watching and for your support on the channel.
Time for change & now! It's still possible we could salvage a play off place if the club acts swiftly, decisively & makes the right appointment. Cowley has done a great job but it's time. Football is all about results & we simply aren't getting them.
What ifs always come out when a team is poor. Good teams make there own luck. Needs a major change and soon!. Maybe 1st loss at Fritton for a while but when was our last league win? September I think.
@Fournilwrittenalloverit, glad you sorted the earlier issue 🤫 , I still go by what I said earlier, UTTER CRAP, looking forward to January as we Win Cup games 🤞, Spurs and Bolton next for me, Happy Christmas Tom and Andrew and the crew, See you soon, #KeepTheFaith and #PlayUpPompey
Hi lads morning Andrew Tom does your dad still believe that the cowleys are the right People to take us forward have a great Christmas lads keep the faith pup
We had an unbroken record at home without losing since around January. Also, Danny should have changed some players or did a different tactics. And Pompey are playing spurs and lots of them payed money to watch and could be a terrible game
Andrew is deluded, I’m sorry, but it’s been let’s see what happens for far to long, those two clowns have been here long enough to build the team that they said they would at the outset, a team of high press attacking football, it’s never happened, they are out of their depth, they have to go. Sorry if I’ve upset Andrew, but I see it for what it is and not what’s best for the vlog. Bottom line s that many of us predicted this a long time ago and we’re vilified, now, right back at those people. I feel for you as you have to remain on the fence, but enough is ent enough Tom. Merry Christmas to you all , and best of luck.
Thanks for your comment David, Andrew as always is entitled to share his views and get his points across, as much as anyone else is on the channel. I think Ollie’s comments post-match will sit a little bit more along the lines of your thinking. I appreciate that you can see I am in a tricky position as I feel it would be unprofessional to call for a manager to go on a platform as far reaching as this - and fundamentally I don’t think it would help matters at all. We will leave the opinion to people like yourself, and I very much appreciate you sharing what you have to say. Thank you for the support on the channel and I wish you a very happy Christmas.
Well Tom, the most difficult pods are when we lose. However you produced a balanced perspective and didn't shoot from the hip. To lose when trying is fine, but to lose through a lack of collective effort and teamwork and being 2nd to the ball (I. e. Not up for the fight) is unacceptable from the players. Some horrendous defending gifted them their goals. The set up was wrong and perhaps the players echoed that in their lack of objective effort. Sure they ran around a lot, but there was no joined up thinking and very little one-on-one success and as for the passes out of defence, nearly every one went to an MK player which meant our strikers had little or no service. This team and manager need to sit down and thrash out what has gone wrong and why the players are so slow. Perhaps pre season training should be in a cold climate, because Pompey don't look like a winter team. Oh and I've laughed when you called that lad a boring b'stard - very Pompey 🤣. See you all in Exeter ('cos I'm not a boring b' stars!)
Thanks for your comment Andy and I really appreciate your continued support on the channel. Feels like a while since we’ve seen each other so hoping that will change come Boxing Day. You’re spot on with everything, you and me both know how much easier things are after a win!! Wishing you and all the family a fantastic Christmas, see you on Boxing Day!
Should have got rid of Cowley before the World Cup. One win in ten? Sorry, that's not good enough. It's getting boring for me to write this stuff after every match, but I guess relieving the manager of his duties will stop me doing it. Pompey have to get promoted, so you should just do whatever it takes to shake things up. Top 2 already out of reach, that's depressing. Play-offs? Possible, but then again, we never do anything in those either. All round, bloody useless. Average, very average team, but hey, the owners don't care I think. I guess staying in League One means they won't have to spend more money.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, I think the repetitive nature of the post match feeling among the fanbase is beginning to wear all those who have Pompey close to their heart down. Wishing you a very happy Christmas!
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, I think the repetitive nature of the post match feeling among the fanbase is beginning to wear all those who have Pompey close to their heart down. Wishing you a very happy Christmas!
A home defeat against MK, I'm sorry but I think Cowley has to go as soon as, I like Cowley as a person and a football manager, but we need a more experienced figurehead to get things firing in the right direction again or someone who has fresher ideas, this has got to give IMHO, it's as simple as that. More frustration once again, PUP. 😡🤬🔹️🔷️🔵💙
The thing that troubles me is that Cowley looks like he's lost belief. He looks like he has the world on his shoulders. Managing our brilliant club is an amazing opportunity, but it comes with the weight of the expectations of our proud island city and a great deal of responsibility. Frankly, it looks like it is overwhelming Cowley and if it's getting to him then it'll surely affect the confidence of our players too - particularly the younger ones. When the first goal went in, the confidence vanished. The players look timid and fragile. Not pressing with conviction and lacking bravery in their movement and passing (Dale is an exception to the rule). We obviously miss Lowrey, Rafferty and Thompson, but this is a good enough squad on paper to be performing better than we are at the moment. It's a horrible league that has become super competitive (like a less good Championship) and no club has a god given right to win. MK wanted it more today and we rolled over without much of a fight. Poor reffing? Maybe. Injuries? A few. But ultimately, when things aren't going your way, your luck is out and nothing seems to be working, you have to FIGHT! We need to scrap it out for points and out graft any team we come up against. Especially at home. Anything less than that is unacceptable and that message goes to all at the club from the bottom to the very top. PUP
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, really good read. I think our response to the ‘backs against the wall’ moments of adversity is really bad, and actually when you think about it, 1-0 at HT is a slender lead even when we’re playing as bad as we have been. Felt like any energy we may have had to get back into it was lost after the Koroma offside call, almost as if we rolled over and accepted the thinking that it was never going our way yesterday - and that can’t be the way forward. Dale is class and is about the only one that we can be proud of. I would add Swanson to the injury list, having 0 RBs fit is never ideal. Have a great Christmas, and thanks for watching.
Simply embarrassing how you're always so confident despite awful results predict 3-0s 4-0s and it's not even because of the channel name. It's genuine and after every bad result fans will say how bad it is in the comments yet predict thrashings next episode. Any realists out there? Up the Wycombe win over Ipswich and 7th get it 💙💙
There’s nothing embarrassing about having faith in your team and club, the channel name of ‘fournilwrittenalloverit’ is a bit of a giveaway as well. Thanks for watching.
Each time we are given the referee from yesterday I am always a little worried, and yesterday that was proved right. I think we just need to focus on ourselves and what we can do about the things in our control. At the same time, the level of refereeing has to change as we’ve been saying for a while. Thanks for watching.
Tom. I said to you as I was leaving the South Stand yesterday that the most worrying thing was that “I couldn’t put my finger on the last couple of months”. A few minutes later back in the car I heard Andrew Moon repeat me almost word for word. We have a side full of potential pace and width at this level but don’t seem able to create the chances for Bishop. I’ll say again that I believe in this group and Danny & Nicky. Conflicting views came out of the contributors for this video and all of them have valid points. I would like to think that we can turn this ship around but as you rightly point out. It’s not just the amplified opinions on social media anymore. For the first time today FP turned. Half the ground voted with their feet in the last 20 minutes. Much as the Eisner’s (and I am equally supportive of them and wish everyone in our club success) talk about a long term plan and Danny & Nicky going nowhere, I think it’s difficult for people from outside of Europe & South America to understand how untenable supporters can make people’s positions within clubs. I really want to believe we can turn this corner but like many I see the lackadaisical (great word of the week Olly) performances and can’t put my finger on it. I will also add that these are my views and not the views of Four Nil Written All Over It. I wish Danny, Nicky the staff, players and Pompey supporters everywhere a very happy Christmas and May Santa deliver us around 63 points between now and the end of the season. PUP Heaven’s light our guide
I used your social media line in the video Dan, I thought that was a great measure of the way things are in reality. Twitter clamour and unrest in the comments on here has and will always be treated with a pinch of salt, but there’s serious issues when that is manifested in front of our eyes as it was yesterday. Great comments as always, glad the word of the week has your seal of approval, and lovely to chat to you for a bit yesterday. Have a fantastic Christmas mate, looking forward to seeing you again soon!
@@Fournilwrittenalloverit I did notice mate😉 Wishing you and all the four nil family a happy Christmas and a brilliant 2023. Looking forward to more Sunday nights chum
Well, That was a bit of a shambles. Admired your diplomacy in the video, Tom. Like many, I was hopeful that Danny would sort things out but I really feel that he has lost the plot. Confidence is clearly lacking on the field and low effort put in. This stops at the manager's door. I keep wondering when we will get the next 3 points - and I'm not sure it will be anytime soon! PUP.
Thanks for your comments as always mate, I’m glad it came across well. It’s so tricky to try and navigate without being unfair, but also very hard to defend the unacceptable football. I think we just have to see what the next one brings, Exeter away could give a different feel to the narrative. Remembering at all times that we are talking about a 19 game start to a 46 game season. Have an awesome Christmas mate!
Recognised you guys in the Question Time audience on Thursday! Just wanted to ask you, what made you suffer more: having to listen to Jacob Rees-Mogg's nauseous nonsense or watching that absolute dross at Fratton Park?
Enjoyable post Tom, but I can't help feeling you've backed yourself into a corner if you have a 'relationship' with DC that prevents you speaking your mind. I don't honestly believe that you still feel deep down that the Cowleys are going to take Pompey anywhere near the top of the table, let alone achieve promotion from this wretched division. The standard of football from the team has been average at best all season, flattering to deceive with some fortunate early results. We have been well and truly found out now with opponents realising that all they have to do is press and harry Pompey into mistakes and taking points with tap ins, prods and via glaring defensive errors. MK packed our box whenever they got a corner or free kick - just count the numbers. If we could win a 50-50 ball it might help... The excoriating standard of officials in the division doesn't help I'll grant you, but you have to learn to overcome these problems and not let it affect your game. After 53 years of watching Pompey, I still live in hope that we may return to the heady days of 2008, albeit without the off field disasters which afflicted the club then.
It is not a case of a refusal or inability to speak my mind, I am acutely aware that it would come across as highly unprofessional and first and foremost unhelpful for us to publicly call for the manager to go. Whether I have a feeling deep down or not is irrelevant, I leave it to Andrew, Ollie, other members of the team and people like yourself to provide the opinion and spark the discussion. Fournilwrittenalloverit is and always has been balanced, and non-partisan, where we drag a wide ranging Pompey spectrum of views and present them to you in the videos. I will continue to level things, and provide the platform for spanning opinion, whilst also bearing in mind that the respect has been built for the channel for that very reason. This in no way negates the unacceptable football that we are all too used to and almost have become accustomed to and expect from this team - which is far more talented than it is currently achieving. Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts and for watching the video. I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas.
Disgraceful from Cowley and his players again and sadly no surprise whatsoever with the past couple of months poor performances. Also points to the terrible standards of English football managers. Just look at Gareth Southgate with the players at his disposal yet can't utilise them to build a successful team. Out of 20 premier league managers only 3 are English if I'm correct and only Eddie Howe and Gary O'Neill look like they're doing any good right now. That in itself tells a damning story. Looking down the leagues there are too many tactically inept and poor English managers like Cowley who are dragging down the standards of the nation.. sad to say as an Englishman but if you want success, don't appoint an English manager. Really disillusioned with the utter rubbish this team keep spewing up, past caring about this season. It's an absolute mess on the pitch and Cowley is largely responsible for it. Only 2 targets for this season now, 1, avoid relegation and 2, replace Cowley to achieve it.
At least Southgate is the most successful manager England have had since Alf Ramsey and that's saying a lot, as for English manager there are some decent ones out there who've been successful in their own rights, maybe a foreign manager is needed for Pompey but after Cowley I think it'll be another English manager tbh. 👍🏻
@@harrytwood Southgate is, but he still has that lack of conviction to put attacking players on amd get them to really go for it. Too much slow backwards passing etc . Basically an international Danny Cowley. As for us, I can't see where the next goal is coming from, let alone a point. It is seriously bad at this club.
Great Vlog as always👍🏻. The Eisners are doing a great job off the pitch with the stadium upgrades and keeping the club financially sound. However, on the pitch this team sucks and the manager is drowning. He’s out of his depth and out of ideas. People are paying good money to watch this drivel and it’s unacceptable. Time to get rid of these Cowley’s. Pompey fans deserve more than this and we are turning into a joke. Thank God for the Papa Johns 🤣☝🏻⭐️🌙 👍🏻
Another terrible performance, this time against very poor opposition that were gifted their goals (can we get a keeper that isn't caught ball watching all the time?). The most worrying thing for me continues to be that we don't look like a coached team. Danny talks a lot about the work they are doing on the training pitch, but its been two weeks since the last awful league game and we still look like a team of strangers that can't create good chances. Poor tactics and team selections don't help, but what exactly are they doing on the training pitch?!
You would have thought we would have seen a response for the Wycombe defeat, but it actually proved to be a case of picking up where we left off which is a real concern. I actually think Griffiths prevented it from being 3 or 4-0 yesterday!
I think Danny is a very good manger but to be losing at home to Milton Keynes is unexceptional. Sorry but he needs to go we need to get in a new manger who will have good tactics and know where to play people. I feel like Danny doesn't know everyone's positions that they'll play best in. PUP
Well done for sticking it out but my concern is that currently we’re looking more like a relegation side than one fighting for promotion. I like the Cowleys but it patently obvious that something serious it wrong. Is it the attitude of the players or has Danny lost the digressing room. Too early to panic though and I agree with Dad and let’s revisit in the new year if this poor form continues. Woody from Bexhill In Sea
It almost looked like a role reversal on Saturday didn’t it! MK looked more like the team fighting to go up and we looked as if we were struggling at the bottom! Thanks for your support on the channel Woody, much appreciated! Happy Christmas!

Punchless...Clueless...Dire... that sums up that performance. The players looked as though they had never played together before. Aimless passes all over the Park. MK Dons looked like the promotion contenders, and Pompey the relegation certainties. And to see the Fratton End disappearing like snow in the sun, was indicative of how the support is draining away from the Cowleys. Its time for the "rose tinted glasses" fans to accept the reality of our position, as we are starting to tumble down the League table. These aimless performances are NOT the steady progress that the Eisner's said they wanted. Three games in hand...Bolton, Barnsley and Accrington away....not many points on offer there I wager. Something has to change...and quickly, or else the trip to Tottenham will be an utter disaster.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Mike, love the seasonal aspect to your comments. It is amazing to see the complete role reversal of the whole affair at the weekend. We will see what the next few weeks bring. Thanks for watching, and have a great Christmas!
@@Fournilwrittenalloverit Thank you so much for your comments. I tend to get a bit"shirty" when Pompey lose, but I've seen many more "downs" than "ups" in the 70 years I've supported them. I even go back to the time when Peter Harris scored FIVE against Aston Villa. I enjoy your programme and look forward to it each week. Keep up your excellent coverage for us fans who cant get to The Park anymore. I hope your family have a lovely Christmas, and I look forward to your blogs in 2023. Good Luck...and Play up Pmpey.
What a terrible afternoon , just like the worst of last season's displays five to ten minutes of attacking settling down to a drab mess , concede and totally disintegrate covering comedy goals . It was pre the magic Stockport match when Bally returned since I've heard the crowd like that . I don't know if it's the manager , players or something else but it has to be decisively turned around soon or we are in big trouble .
It is tricky to put your finger on, I feel like a number of factors contribute to an overall underwhelming state of affairs currently. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, and happy Christmas!
Charlton fan, just checking your home form before NYD. One thing, you claimed a coupleof times to be unbeaten at home this year before MK mugged you. I assume you mean this season, as I remember we turned you over back in late January on a cold night.
Before there is any change of manager, Pompey should dispense with their awful light blue shirts with the terrible pale blue sleeves. It makes the team look devoid of passion. I would love Pompey to adopt the French colours as worn in their World Cup run. Everyone says it looks smart. We could do worse than adopt dark blue!!!
Not zippy or quick enough around the pitch when passing , not enough passion and energy for the badge and lack of ruthlessness in front of the goal . All in all it’s mid table if this continues….. extremely disappointed… Pompey fan for over 40 years and this is awful…
If things don't change than the Cowleys have to go. We haven't won in the league at home since September. We've dropped to tenth in the league and it's not going to get any better with the fixtures we've got coming up. Fans were leaving coz they've had enough of the poor performances from the team. The Eisners need to start looking for new coaches to stop the rot. This is 2 league matches in a row the players have been booed off the pitch at half and full time. I can't even see us beating Exeter on Boxing Day the way they are playing.
Have to agree. Losing is one thing, if the players give their all, but the effort has just not been there. Tactics have been very odd at times too. I'm not sure Danny knows how to fix this.
Thank you for leaving your reflections as always, it is very worrying that our last home win was against Peterborough all those weeks ago, 3rd September!! And I actually feel like we haven’t played well since that win. Massively hoping for a change in fortunes over the festive period. Thank you for watching, have an awesome Christmas!
Your “goal” was 100% off side. The player was offside at the moment the ball was passed through to him. Even before it hit the defender the player was off side so it was the right result.
Hi Tom and Andrew Hard to be positive. But when things go against the team, boy do they go against us. We need a lucky break or two. Lose of confidence is hard to turn around. But we have to work harded. Lets hope Exeter will be the game when we we get a few breaks. PUP
Thanks for watching as always Brian, positivity is hard to come by at the moment you’re right, let’s hope we can get some back over the festive period and into the New Year. Good teams make their own luck as we know, and perhaps that’s one of the differences between performances of late and the start of the season - those moments where you need the luck were with us, not against. Have a cracking Christmas mate!
Rough watch at the minute, ultimately the energy has dropped right off from what we saw a couple months ago. Need to back the team over this Xmas period then think again after those.
Cowleys have to go - Have some dignity and walk! More worried about his hair than the performance! Time for Tornante to get a grip, show a tough streak and get someone in who can do the job!
Just to be clear.. You say your player can't be offside if the ball is played off the opposition player(your words)? So you can stand in an offside & as long as you play the ball off a player your not offside??? Offside, "gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has: rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar, match official or an OPPONENT"!!! Football is becoming boring it is after all an entertainment and there is nothing entertaining about defenders passing the ball sideways & back to the keeper... I'm just glad I lived to see the late 60's/70's/80's football with blood & guts hard defending & honest players not the cheats we watch today.
I don’t know where you have taken that part of law from Antony but in the last few seasons an update has been bought in which means you cannot be offside if the ball deflects from a defending player. If you still think I’m incorrect then try explaining why Danny Cowley received an apology from the referee Samuel Barrott as he had made a ‘mistake’ in disallowing the goal and blowing up before the ball crossed the line therefore denying the goal being given. I think that says it all. If I’m honest the interpretation of the law either way is irrelevant, it merely contributed to my wider point with regards to the injustice of the referee being permitted to penalise and caution players and mangers for protesting the upholding of law in football. To me that seems wrong. Thanks for watching.
All the best for christmas guys, and thankyou for another year of unparralled coverage, ..sorry to Blake ONeill, a close second
Happy festive period, Tom and Andrew. Thanks for the vids and being a class act. All best from Los Angeles.
Sunderland fan here. To me it seems like Pompey have an indentical season every year in League One. Have spells of looking capable of finishing in the top two, pick up games in hand, have some dodgy spells and finish in or just out of the playoffs. It must be driving you lot mad.
Fairly well summed up mate
It’s been pretty much that for a few seasons now!
Four nil written all over it is always a fair assessment of Pompey games and thanks for making it . Wishing you a Happy Christmas and here's to a much happier new year .
You’re more than welcome, thank you for your continued support!
You didn’t let the side down Tom, excellent coverage as always. I really liked the pre match bit. We fight on and thank you for all your hard work. Great to have Ollie back.
Thank you for your kind words Rebecca, very much appreciated. Have an awesome Christmas, and thank you so much for you continued overwhelming support.
Great video once again Tom, enjoying watching you and Andrew every week, hopefully you boys bounce back, keep up the good work 👏
Ahh that’s very kind mate, looking forward to seeing you in a couple of months!
We took the young grandsons for their first match yesterday.
The 5 year old doesn’t want to go again, the 8 year old is more philosophical. They can discuss their dire first game when they’re my age!
Like your channel and insightful / fair analysis.
I hope you’ve told them that it’s not always that bad! Thank you for your support on the channel!
Danny doing great job he will eventually turn it around
Ipswich up next at FP…0-4 written all over it!
Another great vlog again, Tom.
I have to agree with you that I can't remember Fratton Park emptying like that before the final whistle. It really summed up the fans reaction to that dire performance.
And why didn't Raggett play?
He was injured believe but I'm not completely sure
I believe not involving Sean Raggett was a tactical switch, I think it may be looked at as an oversight with hindsight. Thank yo-yo for your kind words about the video Barry, have a great Christmas!
Ipswich at home last season was empty after 70mins
From an MK fan was expecting to get battered as we have been awful, also your second loss at home in the league this year as we beat you last season in January UTF
Coventry fan here, happy Christmas to you both. Good to see you both on Question Time this week. Good luck to Pompey in 2023.
why didnt you lay into those politician wasters.
Great spot Dan! Have a good Christmas too mate, thanks for watching.
Me too, always been Cov & Pompey
Tom well done mate ,again another honest from the heart opinion 👏. We were there to see that and .there's no hiding from not just this game but Wycombe was the same .It's gone beyond an injury issue. Questions have to be asked from The top to the bottom. Cheer for another video mate .Pup
Glad you enjoyed what I put together for you Geoff, serious questions to be asked as you say. Hope you have a great Christmas mate!
I'm also a bit surprised that you didn't show a clip where the fans were singing you're not fit to wear the shirt
Great channel. Charlton fan here - it could be worst!!
Given what I’ve seen of you this season against us, I’d be surprised if your fortunes don’t turn soon!
Very sage words,..we were sold on a management team that promised much, but frankly look, at best, slipshod
You nailed the thoughts of most fans
Losing to Ipswich is never good
@@thetruthk5138 we look like a totally different team afterwards, start of the season we looked fresh and like there was a gameplan
He made some good saves and he couldn't do anything about them ....I laughed at your comments too !
Never leave early, but today was a worthy choice
They have proved to be intractible in formation, and change,.. and , in fairness, if we are looking for Lincloln City "Star managers" to reignite Pompey, we're done,..we shouldnt be bargain basement buying for managers like this!!!,.. make Alain Peron look like DIDIER DESHAMPS,..no, Pompey deserve better,.. they said, on arrival, " give us three transfer windows to show what we've got",...ok,..we did, and now yes, I see, you give pithy little soundbytes, do a funny training segment for soccer am with Jimmy Bullard, and promise lots, deliver little,.. it is Andrew,...and I want this as tomorrows live feed title " have Pompey fans been sold the Emporers new clothes?"
Because, I feel we have, really,.. its not that I have any problem with the two guys, as stated, I really lapped it up, "great city, 12th man, top atmosphere" etc,.. but, they are not viable, the last tennant had to have a disaster live on TV vs Salford to get booted, so these 2 are possibly safe for another season,... were we sold a dummy, a big double, sibling saga dummy? , ( Btw this is Aaron Rose R.G.N using mothers phone due to internet shutout in Emsworth) keep up the great work, makes Alex Griffin look like a drunken amateur
Pup
PUP
Thank you for your effort to support our football club Darin, I hope your trip was as enjoyable as possible and gutted to have missed you!
Ollie's views are reflected all over FP now. I liked Dan as a man, but as a manager he is grim. 1 win in 11 is just shocking.
Hopefully I’ll see you when you’re back at the unibol for papa johns game
I think we’re in genuine danger of going down unless something changes
Backed danny all the way but can't be doing this. Go now or we are league one football 23/24
Lincoln was their level
I love Danny as a person, but he has to go. His tactics aren’t working and you can’t be losing at home to a team in the relegation zone. I’m sorry but this is it
He’s bloody useless at totally out of his depth.
Tactics?
Has Cowley LOST the dressing Room?? No player seemed to care at what was happening. Too many players just NOT good enough. It seems that the opening run of success was a blip...and now the reality is setting in!!
joey was right🤣🤣
Bro great video man
Bad performance, I didn’t go because my grandmother had passed and my family weren’t there either as they were with my Nan during her last moments, I was told just after MK scored. Let’s hope for a good January transfer window and a great Christmas. Come on you blues
Sending all our wishes and condolences to you and your family. Massive with you in hoping that the football turns around soon. Thanks for watching.
@@Fournilwrittenalloveritthanks, you and Andrew always add an extra bit of enjoyment to a match day. Even after a bad result. Keep up the good content👍
Before anyone asks,,, NO you’re not having Marc White.
SHOCKING POMPEY
Portsmouth & Charlton have just become average League 1 clubs and that's the reality of it
Absolutely gutted with the result, can feel the unusual atmosphere through the screen.
Happy Christmas to you too, hoping for a happier festive season and New Year!!
Been a pompey fan for 58 yrs sorry guys just not good enough start looking towards next season with a root and branch clearout this seasons over
I’m sure you will have seen us in adverse conditions before such as this Tony, perhaps this might be one of the low moments that you can remember. Thank you for watching and for your support on the channel.
i’m wondering how this is your first loss at home in 2022 when you literally lost at home to MK Dons in January?
can he be sacked now?
You were looking good for top 2 not long ago, incredible collapse really.
Don’t we know it! Thanks for watching.
September 3rd!!
Completely right that winners make their own luck Andre
You'll be lucky to score 4 nil now I reckon all season, change needed, empty seats too
@Fournilwrittenalloverit, glad you sorted the earlier issue 🤫 , I still go by what I said earlier, UTTER CRAP, looking forward to January as we Win Cup games 🤞, Spurs and Bolton next for me, Happy Christmas Tom and Andrew and the crew, See you soon, #KeepTheFaith and #PlayUpPompey

@@Fournilwrittenalloverit glad to help, see you soon mate and enjoy the festivities + Exeter 🤭💙
Hi lads morning Andrew Tom does your dad still believe that the cowleys are the right People to take us forward have a great Christmas lads keep the faith pup
I think he does Darren, but I think his faith may be close to all out. How about you? Have a great Christmas mate

Thanks for sharing your views as always Harry.
@@Fournilwrittenalloverit that's ok mate. 👍🏻
I was in the north stand.. our performance was grim but the ref was awful.
Each time we are given the referee from yesterday I am always a little worried, and yesterday that was proved right. I think we just need to focus on ourselves and what we can do about the things in our control. At the same time, the level of refereeing has to change as we’ve been saying for a while. Thanks for watching.
Merry Christmas to you both.

Wishing you and all the four nil family a happy Christmas and a brilliant 2023.
😂😂😂now that is a tough one!!
Top comment
@@mk1aquatic739 fair enough mate but hopefully things will improve soon, just got to have faith that it does mate. 👍🏻
Thank God for the Papa Johns 🤣☝🏻⭐️🌙

Stadium upgrades? It’s a league Two stadium at best😆
20,000 all seater revamped old school stadium with atmosphere. Are you kidding me?
No stadium in England has the atmosphere of a full Fratton park at a big game☝🏻⭐️🌙
@@expatalan6511 Agreed, 17,426 singing “this is embarrassing “ is impressive 😂😂
5,000 in a 30,000 stadium is more embarrassing🤣☝🏻At least the line up half time is non existent🤣🤣🤣☝🏻
Lost 0-2 at home to a relegation candidate side.
Cowley needs to leave sadly. Nothing personal.
Don't blame the goalie for that one.

Thought Portsmouth was a home banker today so added them to my 6 team acca to win £1000 and only one team let me down

Charlton fan, just checking your home form before NYD. One thing, you claimed a coupleof times to be unbeaten at home this year before MK mugged you. I assume you mean this season, as I remember we turned you over back in late January on a cold night.
another good vlog lads, rubbish result... PUP
Thanks Andy, have a great Christmas!
That game was just as exciting as watching you guys on Question Time.....The team played like Reece-Mogg BORING.

Thanks Cam, you too mate! Enjoy it!
