@@AccentVocal There are 2 new groups Citizen Queen (Female acapella quintet), and Next Town Down (Male acapella quintet). Pentatonix even had friends who are also A capella pop quintets.
The ending chord for the Jacob Collier one is the exact chord that Jacob ended his Georgia On My Mind arrangement. That was also in the key of F. Great work June!
I'm a vocal coach and have sung in retro jazz male vocal ensembles. I knew Gene Puerling of the Hi-los and I am so excited to see these videos on arranging of various artists. Fantastic. Fun watching.
Hello Jesper ... nice to see you here again ... was a great time working with you at EC 2018 in Tallinn these breathtaking Big Band Vocal Jazz Arrangements by Count Basie and others !! Unforgettable , incomparable days of extremely exciting music ... thank you so much !!!
You legitamitely NAIL every single style you try. I don't know the historical references to know if the Hi Los sounds like them but Queen, Pentatonix, Jacob Collier, Eric Whitacre, Take 6? You guys REALLY understand arranging techniques and devices
Great video! I was a bit disappointed not to see the NYV or the Swingles in this group, but really enjoyed the ones who were. And it was very nice to see June’s cameo, really well done.
The final chord of the Jacob Collier stylized version is just a Db13 without the 7 (Db13no7) from what I can tell (and I may be wrong). I see from the bottom 1-5-9-11-5-13-3. I can totally understand it sounding super ambiguous, and it does, but I think that has more to do with the balance between the voices than anything else. If the bottom end was more defined, and the top voices were less "wooly," for lack of a better term, we could hear the root better, and thus feel the Db chord. But I think we can see it as a polychord as well. If you separate out the Db major triad, what you're left with is an Ebm7 (or Ebm7add11 if we count the extra Ab). So the polychord Db over Ebm7 would also describe this. That's enough nerding around for one day...
Eric Whitacre's chordal structure, progression, and voice leading is so hard to emulate. Nice job in this video. Anyone know any good resources on reading up on Puerling? i'm fascinated by his influence on the vocal arranging scene.
The Ethereal arrangement by Eric Whitacre is by far the best-suited sound so far as the lyrics are concerned. And well Jacob is mysterious sounding > how I wonder what you are ?? 😄
The first part was my first Accent video, and you guys nailed it. Love seeing a continuation, and am hoping this could be a potential series for the future!
Part 3 could include any of the following: Sam Robson, Home Free, VoicePlay, Chanticleer (the latter 3 NEED to showcase the ultra-subharmonic bass notes), Straight No Chaser, Manhattan Transfer, and Voctave (the vocal group with Tony DeRosa down at Disney World). You could also do one video where all members of Accent arrange in each other's styles (if that's possible haha).
ANOTHER ONE! Have a listen to South Africa church harmonies, Methodist or Anglican church hymns to be specific. They normally follow pretty simple 4 part harmony but the vocal production has a very fun and rather unique call and response style to it. It ties with the struggle songs of the country, both old and new.
Oh my God this is so Meta. You can actually listen to Jacob's 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star' original arrangement and notice that it's so close to June's one.
Jamie Ray / Vocatave would be interesting to do. And yes, I would absolutely buy a book that covered - even at a high level - how to arrange like the groups in the first video or Jamie Ray.
Y'all are so stinkin' talented it hurts. Awesome job on the arrangements. Did you do Manhattan Transfer in the last video? I can't remember. If not, that's my suggestion. :)
In a future video of these "twinkle, twinkle" series, I recommend that you do "Acappella" (gospel group led by Keith Lancaster). They greatly exploit the of multitracking thing, but in a unique way. Enjoy to take the other recommendations that were made here in the comments.. it would be worth ;)
Great job yet again! Didn't expect Queen at all, but you guys nailed it. Eric Whitacre and JC are of course spot on. My guesses on who did what (correct me if I'm wrong): Mills Brothers: Simon on all except bass provided by Pontus (Simon's brother), whom I assume is also playing guitar here. (Info from Simon's old video in which this was included) Hi-Lo's: All Simon Queen: All JB and Simon is my guess. Eric Whitacre: I hear Andrew, not sure who else, if there's anyone else. JC: Answer confirmed by June on Facebook (June, Evan and JB)
I knew I was reaching a bit when I was thinking Simon. It is incredible that their blend is so good people get confused on who is singing what part lol
Nice work guys! Funnily Jacob just created a version of Twinkle Twinkle in during his last livestream: th-cam.com/video/7CttWDEYzKU/w-d-xo.html But yours captures some of his essential elements quite well! Maybe to his tendency to sometimes use off-keys to get perfect mathematical harmonies would've been nice! But I quess that would've been overkill, too. Also love that you included Withacre!
WHAT??? June Lee ARRANGED THE JACOB ONE???? MY HEAD IS EXPLODING RIGHT NOW
Careful! We assume no liability for exploded heads!
@@AccentVocal Can you make instrumental arrangements in Japanese? With japanese lyrics.

Thanks for watching! We are trying to keep the spirit alive :)
You really nailed the Queen arrangement! Great job!
Do it in Japanese
Accent Vocal Let's hear what the Jacob Collier version sounds like on Piano. 5:00 That Final Chord has 3 names as listed.
MARVELOUS, WONDEFULL...NO WORDS.....CONGRATULATIONS 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Dude, your and June's arranging skills. The Collier stuff even sounds like him. LOL Brilliantly done again!
That surprise chord at 3:43 was the bomb- totally unexpected and totally EXTRAordinary.
Would love to see this become a series for Accent! I would watch 1000 parts if you guys had them :)
Loved seeing June Lee on the Jacob Collier one! So perfect
Accent Vocal That final Chord in the Jacob Collier version is Eb Minor 11 or Gb Major 13.
4:58 EbMinor11 or GbMaj13 Chord
Insane work!!!
Hi, can I ask you out for a coffee? I think you are very cute
Wow ! This is the greatest history/arranging demo on this subject ever ! Thanks guys. Amazing .

The Queen version was absolutely amazing !! great job !!
I don't know how this doesn't have millions of views. Amazing!
Keep sharing and spreading the word :)
The ending chord for the Jacob Collier rendition was the ending chord for Jacob’s arrangement of Georgia on My Mind. Nice touch!
That chord is Eb Minor 11
I find myself watching your videos again now and then. Love them, please make a part 3!
4:51 The Baritone/Tenor Solo Can sing the Melody an Octave lower.
This has been out for only five days and i've probably watched it 30 times. You guys nailed it again. Also Evan is best narrator.
5:00 That chord is Dmaj13add4
Great video! I was a bit disappointed not to see the NYV or the Swingles in this group, but really enjoyed the ones who were. And it was very nice to see June’s cameo, really well done.
Tiago Marques Watch this from a few years ago in Aarhus at AAVF th-cam.com/video/I_7xx_zhUu8/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! Great work!
4:41 Let's put the Solo part in Octave Lower Treble Clef
Absolutely LOVED the Queen demo, whole video -superb!
The end of the Whitacre one, shit man, I really felt that
I just came across this (and the previous one) though it's three years "old" - absolutely great! Thank you for this contribution.
Awesome work.
Okay, first Jacob yesterday and now you guys...I can’t handle the awesomeness. The internet is exploding 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Brilliant! Especially Eric Whitaker, spot on for me as a choir member, having sung his music. I want more of this from you!
Eric Whitacre's chordal structure, progression, and voice leading is so hard to emulate. Nice job in this video.
Anyone know any good resources on reading up on Puerling? i'm fascinated by his influence on the vocal arranging scene.
Love this series! And the Collier breakdown was fantastic!!
This is very very brilliant!!
ACCENT SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD HAVENT HEART SUCH SINCE PERLING
Really brilliantly done. Thank you Accent. You are really such awesome musicians
That's really Great!
I thought that was Collier for a second there. Brilliant!
The Ethereal arrangement by Eric Whitacre is by far the best-suited sound so far as the lyrics are concerned. And well Jacob is mysterious sounding > how I wonder what you are ?? 😄

Very cool!! Vocal arrangements from heaven!!!!
Great job! Loved the Eric Whitacre Version, Didn't want it to end! keep the great stuff coming!

This is musical genius! The last two chords of the Eric Whitacre arrangement was the best part for me :D

GREAT VIDEO!
2:22 The second to last notes (e.g. f in the soprano) are half notes not quarter.
The Manhattan Transfer is glaringly absent. Also, The Beach Boys presents a good variation in harmony. Great work!!
Manhattan Transfer, as good as they were, essentially borrowed arranging styles from earlier periods, a kind of homage to the jazz eras
Oh my God this is so Meta. You can actually listen to Jacob's 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star' original arrangement and notice that it's so close to June's one.
Again you omitted The Four Freshmen (my favorite).
I love the Beach Boys song "And Your Dream Comes True", which is the melody from "Twinkle, Twinkle..." with different words.
Next part pleaseeee its interesting
Jamie Ray / Vocatave would be interesting to do. And yes, I would absolutely buy a book that covered - even at a high level - how to arrange like the groups in the first video or Jamie Ray.

Bravo! Thank you again.

That Eric Whitacre non-tonic ending, so ‘Sleep’-ish
Haha Jacob just did a video on arranging Twinkle Twinkle Little Star this weekend!
Classic
Not a group, but Kerry Marsh has become a go-to arranger for many high school and college jazz groups
The Queen version was particularly amusing.
It is real good work! Somebody really knows what they're doing here!

I love how Jacob is influenced by EVERYONE😂😂😂
How about the vocal arrangements for the supremes or four tops?
Accent Vocal Let's hear the Citizen Queen version as well as the Jacob Collier version played on Piano.
I need a Beatles one
Could you please make a video about the weird vocal arrangements of Gentle Giant?
I consider Vox One an important group in the jazz a cappella world too. Why no one mentioned it?
Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaase do New York Voices and Sam Robson! They ROCK!
William Torres yes! Sam Robson is the best!!
Great job yet again! Didn't expect Queen at all, but you guys nailed it. Eric Whitacre and JC are of course spot on.

Mills Brothers: Simon on all except bass provided by Pontus (Simon's brother), whom I assume is also playing guitar here. (Info from Simon's old video in which this was included)
Hi-Lo's: All Simon
Queen: All JB and Simon is my guess.
Eric Whitacre: I hear Andrew, not sure who else, if there's anyone else.
JC: Answer confirmed by June on Facebook (June, Evan and JB)
Hmmm it shows top right of the screen/score who the arrangers were, just saying.
Owen I'm aware of who arranged all of them, I'm just guessing who sang each of the excerpts. I should've made that clearer.
No worries, take care.
TheZoroarkClaw I still hear mostly Andrew but I do agree with Evan being on bass.
I knew I was reaching a bit when I was thinking Simon. It is incredible that their blend is so good people get confused on who is singing what part lol
Nice work guys! Funnily Jacob just created a version of Twinkle Twinkle in during his last livestream: th-cam.com/video/7CttWDEYzKU/w-d-xo.html

Eric Whitacre,... yeah man!
3:49 caught me so off guard as I never listened to him before
No HomeFree?
Accent Vocal The Queen arrangement could use some Piano, let's try Citizen Queen as well.
Jacobs the best...
I missed Four Freshmen!
that non-tonic ending in whitacre tho hahaha
Jacob collier actually did it though!
Always was ...
Would have liked a Bill Wurtz version :D
Totally
You left out naturally 7.
Lol Jacob Collier
Where's naturally 7??? They are the most cutting edge vocal group out there
